Christmas Countdown - 2015

Wow, fifteen! They must be hungry too!
They're a little scary when they're flying---big huge blobs taking to the air.

Come to think of it, I'm surprised we haven't seen more seagulls inland this year. During tough winters, they sometimes come this far inland looking for food. I'd occasionally see flocks of them outside at my office.

With all that wild weather that you have gotten, maybe they all decided to fly south for the winter~

still a windchill of -24c (-11f) here but....

Amen to that!!!! I cannot stand those things.....I am sure hoping that this cold weather, kicks them in the pants for this year!!!!

It's been like animal kingdom here lately. two days ago, we were watching a pair of hawks, that were in the trees, right next to the house....Big hawks too!!! Really beautiful to watch them in flight and grooming themselves....

Good morning!
Rosie just had the handle of a shopping bag caught around her neck. I had to chase her around the house to get the bag off of her. Never a dull moment with these kittens.
I planned on catching up here last night but I ended up falling asleep again. I'm getting old. I was exhausted though from shoveling snow all day. My husband worked late so I was on my own.
I have another routine doctor appointment this morning. My daughter had a dermatologist appointment that was cancelled yesterday due to the weather so I have to call and reschedule that. So many doctor appointments lately. My oldest is finally feeling better, so that's good news.
Not too much else going on here today. I'll just be working on laundry and other chores around the house. I baked a lemon cake for the girls yesterday and now I'm craving a piece of cake. I think I'll bake a gluten free one for myself this afternoon.

Plan on spending the day getting chores/house cleaning done and out of the way for the weekend with maybe some little breaks to play in the snow with the kids.

I think we just need this house to be quarantined at this point. JP now has the stomach bug, poor guy is so sick tonight. My wife is complaining about her stomach, so this could be a long few days coming up. LC is back to being his regular turdburglar ways. Feeling 110% better. I (knock on wood) still am feeling normal, even though I don't act it. cheesy

Watched the Bruins game, they lost.

Back to work tomorrow early in the am.

Every thing here has frozen solidly, the snow which had a mushy crunch to it now is solid as a rock. I had to buy some more ice melter, because I nearly went butt over teakettle when I went down the stairs. cheesy

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

Our church is having an all-day spaghetti plate fundraiser today. The kids get out of school at noon, so we're going out there for lunch. My brother and I usually meet mom for lunch, but she's working at the church, so we get to see her, anyway. It sounds like it'll be spaghetti for supper, too. Oh well, it's a good cause.

As predicted, after a high of 85° yesterday, it's now 42°. Its not supposed to warm up today, but it's supposed to be 60 tomorrow. Nice!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly one here in Central Indy. We currently stand at 8 degree's and it looks like we will reach a high of 25 today. Tomorrow looks like it will be even warmer thankfully!!! Well I have to say, I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was quite comfortable all snuggled under those blankets. It didn't help that I didn't fall asleep until almost 4am. I dragged myself out from under them though so I could get to working on everything that I need to get done today. Maybe I can squeeze a nap in this afternoon if I don't get all jacked up on caffeine. LOL!!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

It's been like animal kingdom here lately. two days ago, we were watching a pair of hawks, that were in the trees, right next to the house....Big hawks too!!! Really beautiful to watch them in flight and grooming themselves....

Those hawks are cool to see up close.

Our deer stand is behind our planted pines next to a pond. We have to drive through a cleared strip between the tree rows to get to it. It's all very grown over, with a canopy of limbs overhead.

The last time I went back there this season (to get the camera), a HUGE owl swooped down in front of my truck, flying in the same direction I was going. I swear, his wing span had to be 60" or more, and he was right in front of me, below the canopy.

Now that was awesomel!

A tale of two half days.
That's what we had here yesterday.
In the morning - balmy and warm with temps in the mid 60's.
It held there until about noon or so, then began to plummet.
Low 30's before midnight and now 26 degrees to start this morning.
BRRRR!
Add in dampness from rain last night and it makes for another yucky day.

But, no matter. It's Weekend Eve.
(And that makes up for a lot!.)

I love to watch the Hawks sore above the corn fields around here. They are just beautiful to watch.

Well, we got a good solid 12 inches of snow here... I spent about 3 hours outside on the tractor....What-a-blast!!!
