Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good Morning, Everybody!

Another day dawns.
Another step closer to Christmas.

And indeed, we do but turn another page:
Days to the Season: 218
Days to Christmas Day: 260

And moving right along, we now find ourselves barely over 2 1/2 weeks away from the 200-day Season Window and under 2 1/2 weeks to the 1/3 Christmas Day Milestone, as our dual markers quickly approach.


Rain overnight yesterday (with a thunderstorm last night) but it was clear during the daylight hours (well, as clear as it can be with pollen everywhere) for the remainder of the day.
Today has started off at 59 degrees, with the promise of a (hopefully) drier day.


Have a Thrilling Thursday, as you contemplate the fact that tomorrow will once again be Weekend Eve!

Good Morning!
It's going to be cloudy today with a chance of showers, temperatures in the mid 40's. It's supposed to be sunny and 60 degrees by Saturday!
Not too much going on here today, I'm working on some laundry right now. I have a lot of ironing to do. Not my favorite chore. I'll have to put some Christmas music on to make it more enjoyable! Just got dinner started in the crockpot, we're having french dip sandwiches tonight. I'm heading out soon to pick up some fresh rolls and I also have to stop at Rite Aid for a few things. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has wonderful day!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a yucky day here with storms just freight training over us most of the day. We've already had several overnight and it looks like another big cell is getting ready to hit us here shortly. So my plan is to pretty much just stay home and work around the apartment today. Other than that, nothing really going on here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm off to have my teeth drilled into, needles in my gums, drool being sucked out, metal pieces shoved in my mouth to open it into a very abnormal position, oh the fun that some of us get to enjoy......NOT!!!!

Hello! Dreary and cold today... My hubby took off so we could see jude get an award for being kind and helpful at school. We were so proud ! it's my husbands bday tomorrow so I am taking jude out early tomorrow and the boys and I will deliver cupcakes to his work. I know it's a silly thing to kiss school for but eh, it's first grade!!

Oh ya - especially fireworks!! Eeek! We had the tv on for Miss Gracie yesterday to drown out the noise. She didn't eat until last night - I'm assuming the storms had her in a tizzy while we were at work. She is getting better with them though!

Thanks, snowflake ... I try to put it behind me, but it still hurts. My dad was a hardworking guy who was an excellent money manager, and in the end, nearly all of his hard-earned savings went into an embezzler's pocket instead of to those he intended it for. It took over 3 years and several thousand dollars out of my own pocket to a lawyer to resolve the mess. At least it's over and done with, and my dad is at rest back home with his first family.

I can't even begin to imagine what you guys went through. It's heartbreaking.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! Been a pretty busy morning here, so the day is going fast. I'm guessing that clock will slow down though after lunch. Seems like it has been doing that all week! Lol!



Tonight we are going out for my friends birthday. 1st stop = Mexican restaurant (YUM) & then ??? I believe there are 6 or 7 girls going tonight. Always a fun time ~ looking forward to it!

Happy Friday Eve everyone. Hopefully you all had a happy and peaceful Easter period. My wife and I had a great break down in Dublin just chilling and enjoying some surprise sunshine. Unfortunately it's been back to twelve hour work shifts since Wednesday so I've not had a chance to get a catch up on here but I'm off on Saturday so hopefully get more time for a read through. Dad Update: Mom called this morning & they are back to square one with Dad. The meds were what was keeping his heart rate down last night. Now she thinks they'll send him home with more meds & another doctor's appointment. She called my just after 8:00 a.m. It's now after 1:30 p.m. & I haven't heard back. She was to call me when they got home & it just takes 30 minutes for them to get home from the hospital. I may have to call her now.



More bad news: DH's aunt found out yesterday that she has cancer & will have a total hysterectomy. She keeps DD after school & helps her with her homework. She was a 1st grade teacher for many years & was in the school system for 31 years total until she retired just this year. She & we are supposed to have our houses full of family next weekend for SIL's wedding. Who knows what's going to happen! She goes to the oncologist this afternoon for the plan of attack. Her doctor said he couldn't tell her whether or not she would need chemo or radiation in addition to surgery. We haven't told DD yet. I just can't deal with an emotional child right now. We'll probably just tell her that aunt will be having surgery, which will be enough truth for DD at this point.



I stayed up until 1:30 a.m. this morning to make our Fast Pass selections for our trip to Disney World in two months & was so excited I couldn't go back to sleep. I probably got about 3 hours sleep after that before I got everyone else out the door. I took a vacation day today to clean house & relax. Now with all this new bad news, I'm just working on the house trying to keep my mind off of everything. I just hope Mom can still go on vacation with us. Dad isn't going but if she can't leave him alone, she can't go either. I'm trying not to think that far ahead, but my mind is a mess right now!



Asking for continued prayers for our entire family. We are going through a valley right now, but we'll come out on a mountain on the other side, someday!

Good news, I'm back and I now have a hollow tooth and root canals again (except for the meds and packing in them). Procedure went really well, got the tooth all cleaned out and the infection is draining. It was worse than I thought, the infection was already out of the tooth, past the gums and into the jawbone... Apparently, it was caused because when the original root canal was done, they did not remove all of the bad tissue inside the tooth and it became infected again.

And Vicki was discharged from the hospital this afternoon. Her white blood cell count was normal and her temperature has come back down. Looks like the IV antibiotics, did what they were supposed to do.

So we are all home resting and taking our meds. Doc gave me some good stuff - 7.5/750 Hydrocodone I don't feel any pains at this moment.....
Actually, I feel surprisingly, quite good.....

Glad to hear Vicki is back home and your on some good pain meds! Hope you continue to feel well!

Dad is on two new meds & goes back to doctor next week. He has decided that he'll never feel 100% again, but he's going to do all he can to stay as healthy and active as he can. Now we're all going to be on the low-sodium diet when we visit them! We all need to be anyway...

Hope his visit goes well next week and the meds help. That's great that you'll be helping with his health. I'm sure he appreciates that. Keep us updated on his progress.

Good Thursday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

I've been in training classes the last two days. It was a lot of information. It'll take some time to absorb. Now I have to catch up my regular work.

I didn't get a chance to work on the Camaro last night. I'm through predicting when we'll crank it. I'll just hope we get it in the next week or two.

I think my dad kept ours, but he remarried and moved to Florida after my mom passed away ... then after he passed away, his stepdaughter stole or threw away his belongings and embezzled most of his estate ... so my heart breaks twice when I think of the lost ornaments.

I'm sure - that has to be very hard on you. (((Hugs)))
