Good evening, friends. Popping in quick to say hi. I ended up working a 12 hour shift last night, so I didn't get to bed until around 11:30 or so this morning. It just seems like I can't get here to get caught up, but hopefully I will soon.

We had a nice dinner, and then I just took Har on a long walk. It is pretty chilly out there, 33 degrees, high winds, and snow/sleet. But she needed to go, so we braved it.

Now, we'll relax for a bit.

Well, the NFL schedule is out. It looks as if my family tradition is not happening this year. We were hoping the Packers would be in Green Bay on December 27th, but it appears they are in Arizona that weekend. The awful part is that it was going to be Kim's first Packers/Lambeau Field experience. She has become a massive Packers fan in the past decade. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement.

We were hoping the Packers would be in Green Bay on December 27th, but it appears they are in Arizona that weekend. The awful part is that it was going to be Kim's first Packers/Lambeau Field experience. She has become a massive Packers fan in the past decade. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement.

It's awesome that she's become such s huge fan, hope she can make it to Lambeau soon.

Thanks, friend. That would have been very nice of you! A Packers at Colts game would be very entertaining this year. I recall seeing the Packers host the Colts at Lambeau in Peyton Manning's first NFL Season (1998). I am sure that you will remember that the Colts were not very good (yet) then... Anyway, Manning was sacked for a safety in the north endzone (where I was sitting). Good times.

It would be real nice to see them play in Indy with them both being top teams in the NFL now!

Yep, it took the Colts a few years to get everything together after bringing Peyton on. We are going through the same thing now to a certain extent.

It would be a good time. I'm not a trash talker - if I ever do such a thing, my team always loses - but I could imagine us having a lot of fun with such a matchup!

That's great that your hubby scored some play-off tickets, to tonight's game. I've never been to hockey game myself. Ahhh, maybe one day, I'll put that in the to-do bucket...

A hockey game in person is great, you get to see everything going on on the ice, and see how much faster the game is live. You definitely have to go to one game.

That really stinks, I hope it didn't catch fire...

Twice, when I was growing up, (living with my grandparents on their little farmette), the trees and telephone pole just outside their house was stuck by lightening. I remember the first time, the pole outside was hit and it shot thru the TV, my grandmother and I were watching (one of those big tube sets that looked like a piece of furniture), it came out about 4-5 feet from the TV. I about had an accident in my britches. The TV was smoking, my grandmother sent me over across the driveway, to get my uncle and he made sure there was no fire. The second time, it hit a tree outside, shot thru the ground, got into the phone lines and it blew a telephone jack, from one side of the house to the complete opposite side in the kitchen. About scared the bejebbies out of me...

There was no fire, but you were able to see the lightning travel through the walls. One of the scariest things I ever saw. Our neighbors house was also hit during the same storm and their stove/range "danced" 5 feet out from its normal spot.
