Christmas Countdown - 2015

What are your plans today?

I will be staying inside! Currently -12 out there, may warm up to 10 degrees today. Fingers crossed, ha!

I am going to start packing away the ornaments & our Christmas decorations. That will be an all day project. While I'm doing that, I will watch Christmas movies =]

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!
Just popping in quick, I have to head out soon. I need to go to the supermarket and the butcher this morning. I have lots of other errands to run this afternoon as well. My husband thinks he figured out whats wrong with our heat. He still thinks we could use a bigger boiler but he also thinks there may be something wrong with circulator pump, whatever that is. He'll be working on that today and hopefully fix the problem. It is freezing out! Wish I could stay in but I better get moving, so much to do. I'll pop back in at some point today. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good evening,


One more day until my day off, today was very slow because of the snow we got.

We went to Friendly's for dinner, had a great hamburger for dinner smothered with grilled onions. Yum! They are also the official restaurant of the Boston Bruins, so if the Bruins win the night before (which they did last night 3-0) we got free sundaes for dessert tonight.
We made a run over to KMart to pick up a few things, they had a little Christmas stuff left, but all LC wanted were nutcrackers, they were all gone. He was begging to go somewhere that had some left. It is so cute how much he loves nutcrackers, he is my mini me when it comes to Christmas.

I found a new "Ugly" Christmas sweater I need to find for this Christmas.

I love ugly sweaters, I love Gremlins. This. Is. Perfect.

Good early morning everyone! I am sure hoping everyone is sleeping warm in their beds! I have tossed and turned and finally decided to get up let the dogs out and see if I can find anything to eat as a relatively healthy midnight snack! now I want pizza so bad after reading this thread!!! I have had a migraine all night and it just won't go away, so I just took some advil and am waiting for that to ease off and try to head back to bed... the weather is a chilly but seasonal 31f right now, highs today in the m id 40's with the chance of rain coming in late tonight through the rest of the weekend until Monday night changing over to snow. most of the snow is gone on our street and in the backyard except for the shaded areas...jan in Utah is looking strange this year! anyways I hope everyone will have a great Saturday, I am about to eat some toasted cinnamon raison bread with apple butter preserves on top!!!hmm

Hope your headache eased up and that you got some sleep, Dawg!!!!

I am up way too early for a Saturday. just poured myself a cup of coffee.

It's a gorgeous morning here in Alabama with a temp of 19 and a wind chill of 12. Supposed to be warming up later this weekend with rain. No snow for us so far this winter. Hope everyone is having a beautiful and blessed day!!

Continues cold here at -28c (-18f) but looks like the snow has stopped finally. Already running out of places to put the white stuff.

I have the weekend off so can get a few things done. Taking mom to do some shopping, butt mostly staying home and keeping warm.

Warmer yesterday but not really warm, even for January.
Today is supposed to be colder again, but dry and sunny.
For now, we have started off this second weekend of the year at 26 degrees here in central NC.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's freezing here this morning!!!! We currently stand at -2 but we should start to warm up here soon and will keep warming up through tomorrow. Our high today should reach 18 around midnight tonight. Then tomorrow we may see 30!! WooHoo!! Of course, that's going to come with some drawbacks in the way of an ice storm tomorrow night into Monday morning. Oh yay. Hopefully they are wrong and it ends up being more snow than ice. Or even better, rain!!! Not to much going on today. Just going to do some more cleaning. May venture out this afternoon to see if I can find anymore Christmas stuff too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

It is 10 degrees at the house this morning.

I'm going to be at the office all day today! I'll be working on calculations and designing a Fire Protection system (tank, pump, space planning, etc...) for a specialty needs private school today, while it's peaceful here in the office. And then I will be laying out some existing conditions on drawings for a new OB/ GYN at Walter Reed medical center. So, IE..., I will be here most of the day!

But, there is one plus to working here when no one else is here, I can crank up kringle Radio.....:!!

[Holiday]

The boiler is just too small for the house, too many extensions. My husbands thinking about converting to gas heat. Hope he decides soon and has it resolved by next winter.

Hope it can be converted soon....Brrrr! Hope it's not toooo cool in your house! Stay warm HMG!

Hey guys! De-Christmasing today.. I leave my snowflakes/men/etc up so it's still cozy but aww man! I think Sunday will be the day the tree comes down. We got it the weekend before Thanksgiving and it's still going strong!! Can't say enough how worth it cutting our own tree down is!!

On second thought, maybe just one more week.... Have to see what my hubby says!! Have a great day everyone!

You sound like me! I was so close to taking my tree down this morning while my hubby is gone....but then on second thought! I might as well enjoy it through the weekend....

 

[Holiday]

Happy Saturday MMC! My hubby left about 6:30 this morning - I have been hanging out with Gracie this morning & watching Hallmark Channel. When Jim left this morning it was -2º, feels like -2º. By 10am, it was 10º, feels like -15º! Hmmmm! Lol!

I'm thinking about watching some of my DVR'd Christmas movies!? I should get moving though & get some things done! Feels kinda nice to do nothing! :smile:

I did make those cookies yesterday & they are very tasty. I will have to post the recipe! They were easy too!

We had planned on staying home last night but our lake neighbors (who we haven't seen since October) texted & asked if we wanted to meet them somewhere between our house & theirs for dinner. So we ended up going to Wingers (obviously a wing place...lol) It was very good. I had Southwest Spring Rolls. Yum! It was a nice & relaxing night! And they have offered to watch Gracie while we are in Mexico next month. That makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER about leaving. They have a Soft Coated Wheaten too & he is Gracie's friend. They will have their hands full!

Well, I just put the Christmas tree out by the curb...it's the least wonderful time of the year.

 

[Holiday]

Decided to be brave and head to the grocery store earlier. I managed to get there without getting frostbite somehow!! I got some good deals too. Lots of stuff marked down because I'm guessing there hasn't been a lot of people crazy enough to go this week. Then I headed to the bank and decided that I should stop and get gas. Oh my!! That wasn't the best decision!! LOL!! I still can't feel half of my face!! The wind was strong enough to cut right through my gloves too. Oh well, at least I won't have to worry about it if we get an ice storm sunday night into monday like they are talking about now. Yuck!!!!!!

I got gas yesterday too - one of our lake neighbors was at the pump infront of me - we talked the whole time my car was filling up. He was dressed for that, I was not! My ears were so cold & sore when I got home! Lol! But, at least it's done! Hope you are having a great Saturday!!!

Y'all probably do this up north, too, but around here some of us throw our old trees in ponds near the edge. It creates a fish habitat...especially those big ol' bass!

People do that here at the lake too.

I use the branches as kindling in our fire pit and the trunk is used as a border in my veg garden!
