well I am about to walk out the door to go to work in a few minutes. I hope everyone has a safe commute on this icy drive home. Around here what little snow we had is melting...but winter is not over yet, at least I hope not. I was watching the news on the local weather reporter reminded us that ski boarding season is at the halfway mark..I have only been 2 times this year, and there are 4 ski resorts minutes from my house! a lot of slopes are closed because of the slow start to the snowfall,anyways I have to go! ttyl!

What a bummer ~ I hope you get some snow soon!!! xx Hope your night at work went well, now have a great day!

Well, I did it! I took my main tree & all my Christmas things down last night! :sad: The only thing left is the tree in the sunroom, which I'm thinking about adding some blue lights to the clear lights already on it, along with some blue/silver bulbs & snowmen ornaments. I'll see once! Hubby rolled his eyes. :lol: I did get my snowmen out & put them around the house. I have a few more bigger snowmen to get out yet. Sometimes I put some clear or clear & blue lights with the snowmen, but I haven't done that yet. I already miss having the lights in the house! Ah well - in a way, it's nice to have it done.

Tonight we are taking my friend Missy out for her birthday, starting with going out to eat Mexican! Mmmmm!

Good evening all. Thanks for the email Bradmac and thank you all for wondering about me. I have been a busy man! Christmas was crazy busy with the family. We had a very good Christmas. Spent the weekend before Christmas at Moms, Christmas was at our house, then weekend after at Dads house. I managed to get a week off at Christmas. Also there is a new addition to our Family. Charlie Michael Stannard came into the world October 30th. I am now on paternity leave till September so I am having a BLAST. He looks a LOT like his brother William.

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Christmas and I thank all of you for the cards. William and I had fun opening each of them!

That milestone is closing in quite quickly! Great to see that it will be celebrated on a Saturday. Extra special weekend celebration!

Good morning, everyone. I'm off today. I was off Tuesday, too, this week, but I wasn't allowed to work that day. We had a few things that had to be done around the house. Surprisingly, I haven't received one call for today. Usually, I get a few calls from schools that are too far away. I already have work for tomorrow, but I am hoping more calls come for next week, too!

I hope you all have had a wonderful week thus far. We are nearly at the mid-point of the first month of the year. Sounds fantastic! I don't have a whole lot happening right now. I have some chores around the house to do today. Otherwise, I will be looking forward to tomorrow, when I will be going on my first high school field trip. I have become decent friends with the Auto Shop teacher at school. I am usually in for him if he - ever - misses a day. It is rare.

A parent had initially volunteered to chaperone the trip, but pulled out late last week. I said that I would be willing to go on Monday, and sure enough, they put me in so I will be getting paid to go tomorrow. We're going to an Auto Show in Montreal. The only real unfortunate part is that we are spending four hours on a bus. Two hours there, two hours to come back. We only get to see the show for two hours. Apparently, the kids really enjoy it, however. That's all that matters. It should be fun!

Well, I think I should get a few things done. Hopefully I will have some time to check out a few posts throughout the day here. I hope everyone has a great Thursday! The weekend is nearly here!

Stephen King is one of my favourite authors. Have you read his latest Joyland? I read Tommyknockers and it really is worth reading, there is more in there than the movie. Also have you read Stephen kings Different Seasons? It's a collection of short stories - 3 of which have made into very famous movies.

Midnight in the Garden is one of my all time Favourite books!!!!!!!!

Anyway sorry for going on and on , love talking books! LOL!

I haven't read the book, but Joe Odom is from here in my hometown, even though the events of the story took place in nearby Savannah. Some hometown friends were cast in small parts in the movie, too. It was pretty cool!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I left work early yesterday. My brother-in-law called to invite me and Jacob hunting. Since it was the last day of the season, I got Jacob out of school and took Keith up on his offer. We had a great time, but it was so cold I almost froze my ornaments off!

Our tree is still up! I bet I'm the last holdout on MMC!

Bambina has been on the go and Doc is getting bigger by the day. She is so stinkin' cute when she is pregnant (and when she isn't, also). I've been pretty busy being a Dad. This is going to be the new norm for me as Bambina and her sister are born. I figure I won't ever stop!

By the way, what are we going to call this one? Bambina was such a good fit...I can't think of another name!

Lisa had to take Vicki to an Express Care tonight, she's sick now, has strep throat again. We have an appointment to take her to a ENT on Friday. This makes it the 6th time she has had strep this year. She's going to be looked at to see if her tonsils need to come out....

It's that most wonderful time....of the year!!!!!!

Poor girl!! I hope they can figure something out for her & she's better soon! xx

My day was super busy but I got a lot done. I also stopped at Hallmark and picked up a few more ornaments. I don't feel guilty treating myself when they're 75% off!

He ended up taking her home. He couldn't leave her outside, it's freezing out and she was starving. I'm not sure what we're going to do, maybe we can find a home for her. I would keep her but I'm just not sure, I already have my hands full. At least she is safe & warm and has a full belly now. We'll figure it out.

Extreme weather here at the moment. Luckily we get a break fro a few hours until it resumes even worse for the next few days. Three tornadoes hit within 24hrs in some parts. Arctic gales, thundersnow, clyclone and hurricane force winds on its way. The back fence went last night. I am so worried about my trees. Anyway, it's all good. It will pass.

Good early morning friends! My insomnia is out of control!!! I have not really had a good sleep since Monday. I don't know what to do, I don't want to take anything because I always feel bad the next day plus I don't want to be groggy in case I get up with the boys...yall just please pray for me!!thanks so much!

The weather is nice though! It's a nice seasonal 25F right now at 3 am local time. The next 10 days look nice but no snow Sunday it could even get up to 49F I may jump in the pool because that will feel like spring break! I will be here on and off all day! Have a great early morning..and remember it's Thursday I like to call it the gateway to the weekend day!

Just a quick hello, I have work this morning and I have chores to do before I leave. Straight home afterward to spend some time with the stray kitty my hubby brought home last night. My husband said the secretary that works at his shop might be interested in taking her. She is a wonderful lady and I would feel good about her taking the cat. But her husband is a little wishy-washy so she's going to talk to him again today. We'll see what happens.

Well I dozed off in bed with a drink in my hand and guess what?! Yep I poured/spilled the water all over my side of the bed and even snowball(my dog) got some on him*(yep he sleeps in between me and the wife.lol) I am so nuts because I am delirous, but I still plan on making breakfast!!! Good morning again! I just looked and we are now at 24F but as soon as the sun rises that will go up, I think our high today is 39F, and I think it's sunshine, but to tell you the truth I have to look at the forecast multiple times because I follow the weather everywhere I have a brother or sister so that is Mississippi, texas, Oregon and California, and of course the southeast because I still like to keep up with the ski resorts in the blue ridge and smoky mountains in the southeast. So after I have like 100 different forecasts in my mind I forget what ours is, but I think it's sunny with 39F today and no snow for the next 10 days, but still nice lows in the upper 20's and highs in the 40's. I hope the cold has eased up for the Midwestern and east coast folks, yall have had it rough with the cold and now ice! Be careful on your way to work this morning. I have to go wash the breakfast dishes! ttyl!

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be a warmer day here with a high of 34 degree's!! A high above freezing!!! Woohoo!!! Not to much going on here today. I may run to the grocery store for a few things. It looks like Meijer is having a pretty good 2 day sale too so I will probably go tomorrow also. I would just wait and go tomorrow but I know they will run out half of the regular ad stuff by then. I'm also waiting to hear back from my sister in seattle. My BIL there was involved in a hit and run this morning. It sounds like a truck was coming up the on ramp to the interstate and didn't pay attention as he merged over and side swiped my BIL. The guy didn't stop but my BIL chased him long enough to call the cops and give them his license plate number before he pulled over. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. It sounds like the mini van is pretty bad off though. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

I love old bookstores, and used bookstores.
It's always so much fun to explore in them.
We have one here in town that I discovered about six months ago, I have bought a few autographed books there and they have collectible books, first editions, etc. All locked up in antique cases. Bonus, they have a ton of Agatha Christie books, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden, etc. some of my favorites!

One of our favorite places to visit when we're in Maryland is a used book store with about half a million books! Every time we visit there we have to ship home a big box of books. Paperbacks, hardcovers, vintage, collectibles---they have them all. It's an awesome place to spend a couple hours.

We have an entire wall of books in our front room. Most of the shelves are getting to be two books deep! Seems like I used to have more time for reading, but these days it's grabbing an odd ten or fifteen minutes of reading during breakfast or before bed. I usually read while I eat lunch at work, too.

Oh, I hope you can get some sleep tonight - or at some point today before work! I didn't sleep worth a hoot last night & I normally never have that problem. I thought about logging on here around 3:30 am & I see that I should have, Sugar, Tis & Festive were here! :smile: I played a few games of Candy Crush on my kindle & then I did fall asleep. That's the pitts. Felt like I drank caffeine last night, but I didn't! I won't get to bed very early tonight since we are taking my friend out for her birthday, but when do get there, I bet I sleep good! Hope you do too!!!
