Sometimes that is the hardest thing to do because you feel like you are letting others down.

Yep!

Nice night tonight. It's cold, crisp, the moon is shining across the new snow laying on the fields, kind of pretty out~

I had a snow day today, not too much by choice, the curse of that bathroom got me again.... Last night, after we had purchased a new vanity at Home Depot, when I got home, I decided to remove the old one. No problem, shut-off the water valves, disconnect the plumbing and bolts and done.... I did it, everything was fine, got up this morning and I go down to the basement to use the potty and, squish...I stepped into a soggy carpet!!!!! I looked up and water was dripping from the drywall ceiling, I ran up stairs and over to the powder room and there it was, water all over the floor!!!! During the middle of the night, one of the water shut-off valves decided to start leaking and we were upsatirs in bed and didn't know it. What - a - mess!!!!

I spent all day, all day, working to resole it and clean up everything. I put on all new valves and a present, their holding and they are not leaking...

Uggh, plumbing stinks~:-(

Well that's a bummer!!! I'm glad you got it all cleaned up though and that you won't have to worry about it happening again!!

I agree plumbing stinks though!!

Hope you can enjoy the rest of your evening, Xmastidings!!!

Hey guys! I really feel blah...I have chronic pancreatitis when I overeat and on vacation of course I overate this morning, now I am vomiting and have cramps, only thing that helps is to stop eating and let everything digest and then restart your digestive tract with soft foods. I should be better by morning, so I am going to go to bed and wish everyone a goodnight here! talk to you all tomorrow!

Hope you feel better in the morning, Dawg!!!!!

[emoji2] I may know of someone, actually!

Good Evening, Buddy!!!! I hope you can enjoy the rest of you evening and just relax some!!!! Hope you stay warm too!!!!

An icy Good Morning, from chilly central NC where sleet fell extensively during the night.
(I ain't going nowhere!)

At least we have the count to keep us warm:
Days to the Season: 269
Days to Christmas Day: 311

And what really warms the heart is the fact that the 300-day Christmas Day Milestone will be down to SINGLE DIGITS away the day after tomorrow!
(Well, that may not melt the ice but I do feel a bit warmer.)

As stated, sleet fell overnight but fortunately, the predicted freezing rain did not develop so we had no power loss.
It should move above the freezing mark today with some sun by afternoon.
(And we will need it to help with some melting before single digit temps arrive tomorrow evening!)
We have 23 degrees here, currently.

Have a Terrific Tuesday and try not to slip and slide too much!

Glad you didn't get the freezing rain!

Exactly snowflake! Now I am thinking about how the folks at work are liking me take these 3 personal days off!lol I feel like I have worked 20 years and came in sick, hurt, so many times when I should not have, I feel I have earned these days!

Of course you have!!!! Enjoy them!!

It doesn't look like we are going to get any snow after all - haven't seen any here all winter. Boooo!!! Mother Nature needs to get her priorities straight! Balance the snow out all over, not slam the north with too much and leave us dry!!! Gimme some snow!:give:

It looks like Wayne and I just keep tossing a cold back and forth. Now Wayne woke up this morning sniffly and coughing. He is not real bad off but I pray it don't get worse!

I hope SIT is feeling better.

Thanks!!! I guess I'll just be hanging out here in front of my cell phone with the yule log app running since I don't have a real fire to relax in front of!! LOL!!!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I delivered our sofa & loveseat to my cousin and her husband yesterday afternoon. Our new furniture won't arrive until tomorrow, but rain was predicted for today, so I had to make the move early. I sat on the family room floor for about 30 minutes last night, then finally gave up and watched TV in the bedroom. I'm too old to sit on the floor; my old back won't take it!

Jim is determined to crank the Camaro this week, even though we don't have a windshield, or exhaust, or any of the interior done...or even tires! LOL He was working on it late last night, but I couldn't stay to help. I plan to record the first crank and post it on Youtube, to save it for posterity.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good luck cranking the Camaro!!!

The antibiotics didn't help Lulu, so the vet did an x-ray this morning and found some large bladder stones. She has to have surgery tomorrow.

I'd appreciate prayers for Lulu's safe surgery & recovery.

Thanks!

Lulu is in my thoughts.

Good afternoon gang ... woke up at 5 am to phone call saying the schools were closed. Kids and I got a snow day while the hubby had to go to work.

Got a pot of venison stew going in the crock pot and going to make cookies with the kids this afternoon. The snow is light and powdery so no making snowmen or having a snowball fight. Really wish we had this back at Christmas time though. Maybe it would have felt more like Christmas. Was so disorganized and behind on shopping and decorating it just didn't feel like Christmas.

Trying to stay a head of the things this year already got a few gifts for the kids and have started working on some personalized gifts. Goal is to be done shopping for wrap-able gifts by Dec 1st and start my wrapping the 1st weekend on Nov. Have several gifts figure out, just need to budget for those.

I keep telling my self I need to stop in here every day but some days there is just not enough hours in the day. Another goal to keep working at

Hope everyone has a great day and is staying warm.

That is great that you are already buying gifts.

Made, since you don't have a fireplace, have you ever thought about looking into an electric type fireplace. It plugs into a standard wall outlet and looks nice all decorated for Christmas... (As you can see by the example below)~ And it kinda gives you the effect!

I have a small one downstairs in my basement, and you will be surprised just how much heat that little thing gives off....

I have to mention---today's the day before Ash Wednesday. Where I grew up, that was the day for buying and eating kinklings, a pastry that I really, really miss. It's practically unknown anywhere else.

Happy Kinkling Day, wherever you are!

You are the only reason I have ever heard of kinklings. I would love to try one.

Sounds perfect!!!!

Pleasant evening folks! I'm in the process of getting settled in for the night.

The plumbing work that I pain staking did today, is holding and no leaks, to this minute. I had to make some modifications to the vanity, so as there is room now, for the p-trap and water supplies and such, it turned out pretty good if I don't say.... It's one of those free standing type vanities, with legs, that looks more like a piece of furniture than a typical sink vanity...

Next thing, I have to pull up and replace some of the wood flooring that got damaged in the water. Remove the baseboard molding and trim, replace some sections of the wood flooring and then re-assemble everything again, then caulk, putty the nail holes and then it will be time to install the new toilet and vanity bowl. It's not easy, a little hard, but overall, even at times when things become a little frustrating, I still like to do this kind of stuff, as you can tell!

Well, tomorrow, back to the office, and see what all I missed today. I'll probably get in and have a hundred emails that will take two hours alone just to go thru...Ahhh, I'll just go in a little extra earlier..

Tomorrow night is tax night, going to go get them done and get that out of the way. Always hoping for that refund!!!!!!

Glad that the plumbing is holding well!

Good luck at work tomorrow, hope it's not too overwhelming.

Hope you get that refund!

Have a nice rest of your night, friend!

Why didn't I think of this?!?!

If they can use the jet dryers from the Charlotte track to melt the ice on the runways at the Concord airport, why can't i use one to melt the snow here? So long to shoveling!!!!!

That would save a lot of time and back strain.

Yes!! It's on my list of things to get once things get back on track here. I want to get one with that is an entertainment center too and get rid of my big one.

Boy, these little snow events, keep coming one right after the other.

Well I just did something I have never done before, that is fall asleep standing up. I was watching the tv and next thing I know Im falling down on the floor because I checked out while watching the news! I am so tired , I don't know if I am catching a bug or what. I need to lay down I guess, but that is so hard to do when you are on vacation, I feel like I need to be out doing something!!!!!
Well I may as well lay down before I fall asleep while typing here! ttyl!

I've seen someone fall asleep standing up before, it is scary and funny at the same time. I hope you are not getting sick.

LOL!!!

Ambiance, my friend!

Sounds like you are in for all kinds of fun in the coming days!!!

Have fun tomorrow at the office!! Hope it doesn't take to long to get caught up!!!

Good luck with the taxes!!! Hope you get some money back!!!

That would save a lot of time and back strain.

Yes it would!!!! I'm sure the neighbors won't mind the sound of the jet engine either!!! I mean, who doesn't like a nice high pitch whine?!?!
