Good morning MMC! So happy I had a chance to catch up on here this morning - wasn't sure if I would! Happy Hump/Pines/Rudolph Day! :rudolph:

I'm at work, but Dad just got back to his room after a 2 hr MRI. They had to give him extra pain meds so he could tolerate the test. He just has a lot going on. He is retaining fluid, so they need to figure that out. Hopefully we'll have some answers from the MRI about where the infection is. They did an upper & lower lumbar as well as the brain. Doc wants to rule out that he didn't have another stroke since his right leg is so weak. My oldest sister has been at the hospital all morning & my Mom/Brother are heading up shortly - I am taking a short lunch so I can get out of here earlier & head up, then another sis is coming this evening. Been a crazy 15 or so hours. Hoping the MRI shows an easy fix for the infection & they don't have to open him up again! :(

On a lighter note - the sun is shining & it was a balmy 16º this morning. cheesy

Have a great day gang!

Keeping your dad in my prayers, Holiday. I hope that they can figure out what's going on and that it will be something easily treated. I'm sure he will be glad to see all of you at the hospital!!!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day too!!!

Good morning, everyone!

Ten months until Christmas Day? Nine months until we're into the thick of the Christmas Season? One month until we are a few days into Spring? The year is moving fast. In fact, it has been so fast that I have been on hiatus from MMC for about a month. I think it's time to end that!

I've been a little busy - here and there - doing various things for the past month. Work has finally picked up. I worked all four days last week (Monday was a holiday). This week, I've managed two of three days thus far. I'm really hoping to make it four of five, but we shall see how the calls go for tomorrow and Friday. The good news is that I am already booked for three days next week (all at my normal supply school).

I'm not at Russell today. Instead, I took a call this morning at a school which I was only at once last year. The students and staff here are very welcoming. It's been good thus far. There's only two more periods of teaching to go! The school here is done at 2:15, which is about an hour earlier than I'm used to being done. I'll have plenty of time to do things afterwards.

I hope everyone here is doing quite well. I might have some time in a bit to run through some posts and catch up a little. I think my little break was long enough. I am ready to return to Christmassy thoughts. In fact, I think a trip to Tinseltown, Ottawa's Christmas Emporium, is in order. Perhaps, I can convince Kim to go this weekend or next.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone! We're nearly on the downside of the workweek. I hope the weather in your area is much nicer than the snow and winds of Ottawa. February has been record-setting for cold. Hopefully March will turn things around!

Great to see you, Brent!
Glad that you and Kim are doing well, and staying busy.
Stay warm, and have a nice week!

Our power was out for 11 more hours on Saturday. DH took DD & me to my mom's & we spent the night. We got 3-4 inches of snow Monday night into Tuesday. Tonight we are to get 2-6 inches. I think today was the last "snow day" before the kids have to start making up the days. I told DD she'd be in school on July 4th if this keeps up!

My grandmother is still in the hospital, but she is eating solid foods now & doing better. She will be living with my parents when she gets out of the hospital. It will be a burden on them: they did the same with my maternal grandmother, but she lived next door to them. You do whatever you can for your parents if you are a good child, IMO. I'll help them all I can.

I'm ready for spring & I need to make our camping reservations for Easter weekend. Thursday night through Saturday morning. It's just a short break & close to home, but we enjoy the time away.

Everyone stay warm & safe!

Glad you're back, Brent! And it sounds like work is picking up, too, so that's good! cheesy

It's very good. No work leaves me a little bored... and poor. I don't like being either of those things!

Nice to see you Brent! Glad to hear you are doing well!! Cold here too - hopefully things will start warming up soon! xx Visit more often!

I think I am back for a while now. Everything is on track here. Well, I might have a slight disappearance in a few weeks. It might be hard to pull me from the beaches of the Domincan Republic. I, too, however, really hope it warms up a lot before then!

It's great to see you, Brent!!!! We have missed you!!! Glad to hear that work has been picking up from you. I hope it keeps up!!! Hope you can get to Tinseltown soon!!! Have a great Wednesday!!!!!

Thanks, friend! It has been picking up quite well. There is always too much downtime after the beginning of the new semester! I hope you're doing great, too. I will be sure to share some photos of Tinseltown afterwards, too!

Great to see you, Brent!
Glad that you and Kim are doing well, and staying busy.
Stay warm, and have a nice week!

Thank you, snowflake. Great to see you, too! I'll do my best to stay warm. I would imagine that you're having a similar issue in northwestern Wisconsin! Have a great week, too!

Your parents sound like good folks, willing to support their parents in their time of need. Like you said, it's the right thing to do. Bless her heart.

Thanks guys! His MRI came back pretty good. No abscesses & no new stroke! Doc (surgeon) was amazed at the severity of his 1st stroke 17 years ago! They are running some more tests to make sure there is no further infection. Doc wants him moving as much as possible. Going to put him on a muscle relaxer! He's just in so much pain in his belly! Probably from the compression fractures @ t10 & t11. Hopefully things start improving now! xx I'll be heading back up after work & again in the morning. My sisters, brother & Mom did all the paperwork this morning at the nursing home, for rehab - he is ready to go there whenever they boot him out of the hospital!

Yawnnnnn! I'm up, trying to move about to get moving along... The coffee is a major help!

Well, getting ready to head out soon to start another shift. Tonight, I will be up and down and ladder for the next 12 hours, (not like I don't need the exercise or anything) but, that's a lot of step aerobics, and I can only imagine what my knees are going to feel like tomorrow this time...

Here I am, home when no one else is and not at home when everyone is
; huh?? Well, my poor wife has been contending with the drama of my son's love life, with him and his girlfriend breaking up, she's like telling me privately, Oh great, in one way and "GREAT!!!" in another way.

The background: My wife and my son's now present ex-girlfriend is like oil and water... Don't mix very well, but she is very nice to her and pleasant when she see's her. My wife is praying that my son doesn't go back to her...Yes, the moral of the story is that it ------ there is this other girl..... ! I just told him to be honest, follow his heart, don't feel guilty for doing what his heart is telling him to do. And most importantly, do what makes Zach happy on the inside. Sometimes, things happen for a reason~

Well, now that our trip is over I can say that I am jealous! Bet you are looking forward to that!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

And...Happy Rudolph Day! :rudolph:

The sun is peeking out this morning, but my mom says it's supposed to be raining after lunch. I think most of my outside work is caught up for a few days, so I don't mind too much.

Lulu is still taking antibiotics, which are big pills. She refuses to eat them, even when mashed up in a slice of cheese, so I have to push them down her throat. Yuck! You should see the look on her face when I call her to the kitchen for her pills..LOL. She knows what's coming, but she's a big girl for not running away. I give her a small treat afterwards, then we play for a while. What a good girl!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I highly recommend Pill Pockets. You should be able to find them in a pet store. Or cut the pill up smaller and hide it in pieces of liverwurst. That always works for my dog. Keeping Lulu in my prayers.
