Christmas Countdown - 2015

Once upon a time, I worked in the backroom of a bookstore in Northern California. Some mornings, when we walked into the area, it smelled like skunk, but we couldn't find any signs of the odorific critter. The "perfume" would go away within in an hour of starting up the store's heat/air system.

One Saturday, I found the culprit before I had all of the lights switched on. There in front of the shipping door, sprawled flat, was a bat. Wing tip to wing tip it filled up the doorway. The county animal folks came by, captured it, and took it some miles away for release. No more animal potpourri.

Yikes!!! That's a big one!!

Thank you for your thoughts and well wishes. I'm a stubborn/ willful thing, no matter how much effort it takes, pain, sweat, blood, tears, no matter how long it takes or when the time frame is to do whatever task, I will get er done.... They usually send me out, on jobs like this, if there is a tunnel to crawl thru, attic spaces, interstitial spaces, hazardous spaces, I'm your man...I'm not afraid to go in and find out what's in there.

However, there was this one job, that creeped me out a bit, it was this old courthouse, built around 1800 and, it was haunted because they used to hold prisoners in the bottom of it and then they would take them out back and hang them; they had pictures of it. Well the place was haunted and the facilities guys, that worked there, wouldn't go down there, but I did, it was kind of cool, creepy and spooky, but I liked it...

Then there was this other job, a 1930's built elementary school, that when I went down in the crawl space (about 30 inches high), it was filled with spiders and cobwebs....:-D

That would be so spooky! The courthouse sounds fascinating. I would have loved to tag along!

The crawl space would freak me out, though- I am claustrophobic!
