Christmas Countdown - 2015

Grandmother Update: She had a stroke early this morning. Because of her age (91) they can't give her the "early detection treatment". At this point, all I know is her left side is paralyzed.

There was a train stopped on the tracks this morning, so half the town was trying to figure out an alternate way to get their kids to school! I had to call DH to tell me how to get there. We made it with just a few minutes to spare.

Lord, what a morning...

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!"

I was back in that hole in my mom's backyard yesterday afternoon, battling the tenacious leak. I think I wore more mud home than I put back in the hole, but it's done. To quote another world famous work of literature, A Christmas Story, "In the heat of battle my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that as far as we know is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan." Maybe mine's not over Lake Michigan, but it's at least hanging over my Grandaddy's pond.

I'm still peeling PVC glue off of my hands...and arms, and face.

Hello everyone. The busy week continues!

I hope you're all having a great day. We are going to get close to 70 degrees this week. But, they are predicting a more active than usual severe weather season beginning in April. That's Oklahoma for you.

I hope it isn't as severe as they may be predicting, since I have friends all over the world thanks to MMC I get too worried when stuff goes on like that. I am just a big worrywart.

I did see that!!! It's crazy!!! I don't know why they would pick his track. They hacked the sites of a couple of charities around here.

Talking about close to home. They arrested a guy here on terrorism charges having to do ISIS a couple of weeks ago right outside of the airport on the day that the President was flying in for a visit. They still haven't released a lot of details about it.

People are nuts, such a scary world we live in now.

A quick "hello," everyone!

I picked up an Intermediate (Grade 7/8) shift this morning. It was at a school I have been to before, but only once. Anyway, it is now done. It was a pretty good day... quite exhausting, however. Hopefully I get a call for Russell tomorrow. We'll see.

I wish I had more time to visit today. I was constantly moving from classroom to classroom today and dealing with students on a one-on-one basis. It was definitely not something in which I have much experience. Still, it was all right. I learned a lot. The best part about today? This school ended at 2:10... I get to go home now!!

I hope everyone has had a great Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing you all at the 'Pines tomorrow!

Good afternoon,

My relaxing day off definitely hasn't turned out that way. I got a phone call at 7:30 am stating that the boys school was canceled today due to a gas leak. I canceled my oil change appointment, I wouldn't want the boys sitting in a small waiting room torturing the other people waiting, but still did my other errands. They are so stressful to bring out sometimes because they are so full of energy.

JP has a scout meeting tonight, I don't want to go, I am exhausted from them. cheesy

It is quite warm again today, melting nice and evenly out there, I can deal with that because that shouldn't flood the basement, if it rains that will be a big problem.

Well,..... She was very nice! She's a cute little thing. Quite a bit different than what I expected, only because he's like 5-11 and she's like 5' and 95lbs.... And they are both the same age. One thing I did notice, is that he's all smiles around her...

I was happy to see that he's happy~

Real pleasant (and long-awaited) weather has arrived. Our high yesterday

was in the mid 60's with just a very light suggestion of a sprinkle.

The nice temps should continue, but with an increased chance of rain as the week advances.

Today has begun at 55 degrees here in the capital city.
