[Holiday]

Well, I can see that there was a good time to be had at the Pines last night, wonder how many people woke up with big heads this morning....

Didn't get a chance to go, I got stuck at the office, did a 14 hour shift yesterday. By the time I got home, I had a little snack, took a shower, talked to the wife for an hour and went to bed.... Very exciting night~

Most likely working again tonight for a little while as well.

I'm not sure what to make out of this crazy weather, this morning, there was a frost again, but it is supposed to warm up and get up near 60 degree today...I liked the one post I saw this morning in the Halloween countdown thread - 6 months till Halloween. Can you believe that, we are now 5 months, and so many days till Halloween~ But, between now and then, there's a lot of grass cutting, mosquito swatting, SPF 40 application and wiping the sweat from your brow, that will be done.....

I'm looking forward to the grass cutting, mosquito swatting, (ok, maybe not so much....) SPF 40 applying, wiping sweat from your brow season!! cheesy

Just got back from lunch. Pit beef and a cup of Maryland style crab soup! I feel like I'm more ready to take a nap in lieu of getting back to work.

And the new figures have arrived:
Days to the Season: 225
Days to Christmas Day: 267

And we are now under 3.5 weeks away from the 1/3 Christmas Day Milestone marker, as our advance on Christmas continues unabated.


Another real nice day here yesterday but rain clouds are gathering.
Bad news for our pending trip.
(More about that in my upcoming TRAVEL ALERT.)
This morning has commenced at 45 crisp degrees here in the capital city under a bright, sunny cloudless sky.

***** TRAVEL ALERT! *****

The Crowns are headed to the coast for a first check on the cottage to see how it fared over the winter and to begin preparations for our summer rental season.
And of course, that means there is a need for a countdown volunteer!
We are leaving this afternoon so someone will be needed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. (We might return late Saturday but that is not certain so Sunday needs to be allowed for.)
Any interested parties may apply and the first to do so is guaranteed a job.
(Can't beat that in this labor market!)

just got home again, I see no one has volunteered for countmeister job so I would like to offer my services for the weekend (unless some one pm'd you in that case I defer to them)

Whew - the afternoon took a turn towards crazy! I stopped at Moms at lunch & she said she had talked to my BIL about the apt & since the weather was nice she told him she would just drive herself to the apt. At this time, it was sunny & nice! I go home, get Gracie for a walk & it's getting darker & darker to the west - then it's rumbling.... so I call Mom & ask if she has looked outside & of course she hasn't. It's really dark & she needs to leave in 10 minutes & I'm a 5 minute walk from home yet it's going to POUR!!!! LOL! So I got Gracie home, called my boss, picked up Mom & off to her apt we went! Talk about a beauty queen with wet & wind blown hair. cheesy But thankfully Mom didn't drive b/c there were times you couldn't see a thing...it was raining SO hard! Anyway - all is good & I'm back at work, just ready to close up for the Holiday weekend! YIPPEE!!!

If I don't make it back on here, you all have a WONDERFUL Easter!!!

It was awesome! Took Gracie for a long walk...the marinated chicken breast on the grill were delicious! The corn on the cob was pretty good for this time of year! We ate on the patio. Loved it! Hope you had a great night too, enjoying the awesome weather! Gracie was worn out after her walk...

I'm going to jump in here to say "GOOD MORNING!" everyone!

Not much out of the ordinary going on around here today. I was going to take a late lunch so I could bring Mom to her hearing aid apt this afternoon, but my BIL is off work today & has offered to take her! NICE! We didn't want her driving herself there today since it's rainy w/ chance of storms. Anyway - he will be a fresh face for her. I would love to be a fly in the car! cheesy

Our shop is closed tomorrow for Good Friday, so will be nice to have the day off to get ready for Easter! Tonight or tomorrow I'll bake the ham & I need to make deviled eggs & color some other eggs for the kids to find, and fill plastic eggs with candy for them too. Also need to make a snack for my in-laws Easter. AND get things ready for the lake...

Last night we went out to the lake to open up, but my hubby needs a different fitting to hook up the water softener, so he'll be going back tonight to hook everything up. Yipppeee!
