Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good Morning, my Friends.

Well, things went well at the coast. The cottage took the winter well and there shouldn't be too much to do the next couple of times we go over to get things ready for the summer rental season.

Anyway, it's good to be back and to behold just how far down the count has dropped in my absence!
Days to the Season: 221
Days to Christmas Day: 263

Under three weeks now until the 1/3 Christmas Day marker.
And, oh.....did I forget to mention?......the NEXT Milestone after that is the VERY NEXT DAY.
Yes, that's right -- back to back Milestones!
(The 2nd one being the 200 day Season Window, after which our Season count will already be down into the 100's!
(Incredible!!)


Today has dawned at 55 degrees here, with the promise of a nice, sunny day.
Rain is in the forecast for later in the week, but for now I'll be satisfied with the moment.


Hey! A special thanks to our own Christmasstar for keeping the count candle lit so we wouldn't loose our bearings. (That would be bad luck, you know.)

Good morning MMC! It's Monday again! Already!?? Doesn't seem like we had an extra day off over the weekend, went too fast! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! The weather was SO nice! We went to the in-laws for lunch & had my family at our house for supper. Just about everyone made it, we were only missing a couple! Thankfully we were able to sit outside on the patio! Kids had fun with the Easter egg hunt. I hate to see nice days like that come to an end! The food was all good & plenty. After everyone left our back yard neighbors walked over & we turned on the patio heater & sat out there for a couple more hours. Such a fun day!

Have a great Monday everyone! I'm going to try to do some catching up on here!

Good morning MMC! It's Monday again! Already!?? Doesn't seem like we had an extra day off over the weekend, went too fast! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! The weather was SO nice! Happy Easter, MMC!!! It's going to be a nice day here with a high in the 60's. Nothing much going on here today since we did our celebration yesterday. I'll probably run to the store here soon to get a paper and some cough drops. Then it will be back home to just relax. I hope everyone has a GREAT HOLIDAY!!!

I hope that you all awoke to some nice goodies from the Easter Bunny! Unfortunately, I think the bunny skipped Kim's mom's house. At least Kim will get something tonight, as I have agreed to present her with her birthday present a day early. Hopefully she likes it!



Yesterday was a busy day. I didn't expect moving Kim's grandparents' stuff would take much of the afternoon (12-7pm), especially with about three vehicles and about seven people helping. Let's just say that we were all quite elated when there was nothing else to bring to their new home. They will be officially moving on Wednesday. Thankfully, they have hired movers for the bigger items.



Not much is really happening today. We're not too sure where we'll be for dinner (here or Kim's sisters). At least the ham is portable! Either way, it will be quite delicious!

A joyous Easter to everyone!

We're going to take it easy and eat out today. A local restaurant is having an Easter Sunday menu. Later on I may watch "Harvey." When I was growing up, that was usually on TV on Easter. He's my favorite six-feet-three-and-a-half-inch rabbit!

Not doing much today. Staying home and cooking a ham for our Easter Dinner. Made desserts yesterday and delivered the extras to family/friends.



Thinking about catching up on some reading to watching a movie this afternoon. Watching the 10 Commandments tonight with the family. That's a yearly tradition.

Friends, Easter made me miss Christmas...



It was so much fun. Hunting eggs, being with family, cooking, shopping....all too much fun. I'm so unfairly blessed. It was such a great time.



You know what else? I have my own little Christmas countdown that I do....and yesterday was the 1/2 mark until I do the first thing Christmas related. In August, there are several things that we do to prepare of rChristmas and we are officially 1/2 way. Now, there are other things that take place during summer...like planning, etc....but Easter reminded me how much I miss all of it. It will be here before we know it.



Well, I gotta go! Things to do before we go to bed. We are also watching The Ten Commandments. One of my favorite movies of all time. Love it!

Good evening and Happy Easter,



Busy day here, we had the family over for our Easter dinner. I do have to say that the prime rib I made was the best one I have ever made. I usually keep it in the oven too long or too short, but this one was perfect for a change. I rubbed it down with olive oil and Slap Ya Mama seasoning, wrapped it in bacon. MMMmmmm mmmmm! The Slap Ya Mama seasoning really added a nice flavor.

The big bunny was generous to the boys, they loved the baskets and all that was in them.



We had an egg hunt this afternoon, and during it we had quite the snow squall, it was fun watching them hunt eggs in a passing snowstorm.



Back to work in the am, I am already really looking forward to Tuesday, not much rest today.
