Christmas Countdown - 2015

Well friends, it seems I come here lately for prayers for sick family members. My dad was admitted to ICU at the local hospital yesterday for heart issues. He already has a pacemaker & defibrillator. His heart rate was way too high & he is very weak. He is being transferred to another hospital today. Hopefully it can be solved by fixing the pacemaker/defibrillator and is nothing more serious. Any & all prayers appreciated.

At this point, I feel that I am doomed. Dad has congestive heart failure, so did his mom & his dad. Either a heart attack or stroke will do me in. My risk of being diabetic is high too since both my parents & one grandparent were diabetic. However, the hereditary dementia might get me first...:sad:

I told mom yesterday that I'm going on to the funeral home to make my arrangements!

I'd love to get into the Christmassy spirit by listening to Christmas music, but right now I just can't. Somebody else here do it for me please! I hope you all have a great day.

I've felt like you, too. All of the men on my dad's side of the family have died young from heart attacks & strokes. I survived a heart attack at 48, so I figured my number was coming up soon, too. But after long talks with my cardiologist, I think I can beat my family history. It took over 4 hours to get my heart attack under control (THAT was the longest 4 hours of my life!), but when it was over, my heart didn't have any damage. He says keep active, watch what I eat & watch my cholesterol, and there's no reason to think that I'll have any more trouble.

If I were you, I'd research diabetes & dementia prevention, and start implementing a plan of attack.

Bless your heart, I know it's scary, but try to be positive and fight back against heredity. That's what I'm doing. Take care!

So far I have been really enjoying my parental leave from work. I do not want to go back! haha. By the time I go back to work, the Christmas season will be creeping around the corner again! This year i will have my Christmas in July movie marathon with my friend. Should be great, looking forward to that. Little Charlie (Our 2nd son) is 5 months old. He is rolling over and trying to talk to us. He squiggles around on his mat around in circles, quite funny to watch. His big brother William turned 6 in March, and I turned 36. I don't feel older, so thats good. We have had freak snow here and there, made me happy, but others just complained about it. We had to get the van fixed. Sheesh, never ends eh? Needed four new tires and tirod replacements. But its smooth now. Before it was getting to be a wobbly ride! Well time to go. Charlie should be waking up soon. Hope you all have a merry day!

Good Morning! 6:15; the coffee is tasting mighty good this morning and is starting to kick in.

This darn tooth of mine, is still bothering me this morning. Took a couple of Tylenol last night to dull the pain, but it's back in full stride this morning. I just hope I don't have to get another one of those darn root canal procedures done again. Uggghhh...

Work, work work is on my plate for today....It's raining outside and 59 degrees outside, so why not stay inside and do something and get paid for it, right....

I speak from experience … get that tooth looked at sooner rather than later. If a root canal is needed, don't delay it. If you think it hurts now, believe me, it can get even worse.

I wish I could get you to the dentist we had before he retired. He could do a root canal and it would hurt less than another dentist's filling.

Been feeling "ugh" since late Sunday afternoon … first it was tummy cramps that got me up throughout the night, so I called in sick yesterday. My tummy felt better later, but I could barely drag myself around. I still felt bad this morning and called out sick again. Woke up with a headache, which I finally got rid of, but I still can barely drag myself around and have no appetite. Don't know what to do for it. Just gotta get back to work tomorrow.

Been feeling "ugh" since late Sunday afternoon … first it was tummy cramps that got me up throughout the night, so I called in sick yesterday. My tummy felt better later, but I could barely drag myself around. I still felt bad this morning and called out sick again. Woke up with a headache, which I finally got rid of, but I still can barely drag myself around and have no appetite. Don't know what to do for it. Just gotta get back to work tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well MC! Hopefully with some rest, you'll be back to 100% in no time!! Hate days like that!! Get better!!! xx

I know all about feeling like you are doomed. Heart problems, Strokes, Cancer, Dementia, Diabetes, High blood pressure, High Cholesterol, Eye problems, and more all runs in my family. Just know that the medical field is progressing everyday and the things that might have killed are grandparents we can treat and control today.
