Good Morning MMC !

it is the middle of May and we are having a heat wave !!! going up to 31c (88f) today. It never gets this hot so early in the season. There is even a special weather statement out ....

First taste of very warm, mid summer weather today.
The warmest air so far of this year is being ushered into Southern and Eastern Ontario by southerly winds. Under the strong may sunshine, temperatures this afternoon will reach the upper twenties to low thirties in most areas, making it feel much like mid summer. The first occurrence of 30 c or higher of the year is expected at many locales as a result.

and I have to be dressed in black from head to toe for work

I need to find a good potato salad recipe for the bbq tomorrow.

Yes, we have once again arrived at that point in the week where things start to relax a bit and unwind.

But what else is winding down?
As if you didn't know:
Days to the Season: 189
Days to Christmas Day: 231

One single, solitary, lone week from today, Guys -- the 50 percent Milestone to Christmas Season 2015.
Yes, it's true -- believe it or not.
(And of course, here you've got to be a believer!)


The weather?
Still fantastic. (We are getting spoiled mighty fast!)
This morning has started off at 60 degrees here in central NC.

I have to do some shopping today. I'll be heading to the mall for a Mother's Day gift. I also want a new outfit to wear on Sunday. And I have to go over my menu plan and grocery list for our Mother's Day brunch. Other than that I'll be working on some chores around the house.

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

My mom keeps texting me pictures of the water on the NC coast. I've always been a mountain man, but that water sure is pretty!

We took Elizabeth to dance yesterday afternoon, and I went by Lowe's while we were waiting on her. I wound up buying more tomato plants for the garden, including some expensive Cherokee Purple tomato plants. I just love fresh tomatoes! But I have to stop investing in this garden, or I'll have $200 in it soon. Whew.

In the words of the late, great George Jones "It's finally Friday!" I apologize for not being able to post very much lately, but today is my last day of work for over a week. We will be headed for vacation tomorrow morning. I'll try to post more in the next week. I hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

I got to talk to them for awhile and he really is a Santa, does a lot of kids parties and really has fun with it. His wife was really into it too, they were fun to talk to.

That's awesome!! :smile:

Good evening, friends! Just got home from taking the kids to a Relay for Life walk at EA's school for the American Cancer Society. I'm hoping they raised a lot of money!

Happy Friday Eve - I'm off the weekend and looking forward to it! Hope you're all enjoying the evening!

I did the same thing last night, I was so hot, (even with the ceiling fan on), I started kicking off covers. Then, about 2 am, I was done, got up and turned the AC on... Whewww, relief! For tonight, I'm one step ahead of the game, I just turned it on again and set it to 72, see if that don't put a dent in the hot temperature upstairs...

Hope we are both cooler tonight Holiday!!!!

Well we did have a much cooler night. We have a separate air conditioner we put in our room & my hubby hooked it up last night. Ahhhh ~ nice! Good thing he did too, b/c it didn't cool off much outside last night! Hope you were cooler too!

I got tell you this one, Why do things snowball on you....

so, I take the van to the shop and I say to them give a once over, make sure it safe and sound for a big time road trip....
So, he calls and gives me the list;
Needs a new radiator, new radiator hoses, new front and rear brakes, new plugs, coils, wires, stabilizers in the front of the van, exhaust system needs welding work and clamps, needs new spare tire, new belts, etc.... for a total of around 1500.00....Nice! So much for a quick once over, huh?

But, at least I know it will be safe and I'll have a piece of mind driving it, but wow is my wallet a lot lighter.... Why do things cost so much money?

Yep - when it rains it pours!!! YIKES!
