Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I finally got some sleep last night, so I'm feeling better. My throat was sore this morning from all the snoring I did last night LOL.

Jacob has band practice again this evening. His band (and three others) is sponsored by the music store where he takes lessons, and their Summer Jam is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, so they're prepping for that.

Their recorded songs are scheduled to play on the radio again tonight at 7PM & 9PM, so that'll be fun, too.

Two days in a row a May 2015 record for me. cheesy

The storm just nicked us last night ~ looked extremely bad on radar, but all we ended up getting was a lot of wind (a few fallen trees) and a slight downpour. Thank you for all the well wishes!

The beans I planted last week went from nothing showing to over 2 inches in height overnight. That is incredible! This year's garden is in two spots. One 32 foot row planted both sides of the fence that is in the middle. My modification of the Square Foot Gardening system. There are beans on one side, San Marzano tomatoes, poblano chili and Anaheim chili peppers the other. I still have 16 feet to plant, but haven't decided what is going in as of yet. In the other garden I planted zucchini and in a tub I have kale and leeks. So far everything is looking good. Doesn't look like there will be a lot of fruit this year, but the past couple of years' winters have been so hard it isn't all that surprising. Anyhow, with this garden system there should be a lot less weeding to do so I can tackle the overgrown borders and other areas that have been neglected far too long. I am finally feeling a lot better than I have in a few years so I have quite a few plans for outside projects.

Palmer is doing well. She has inspired my brother to write a book about her; he has written two chapters already and I have had the privilege of reading the rough drafts. It was hilarious, but then so is Palmer. :wiggy: The other cats are doing well although a few of them have wandered off over the past 6 months. There might be a litter of kittens in the woods ~ haven't found them yet, but the signs are there.

A few visitors to the "farm" of late: a female turkey that walks up the driveway and around the backyard, gobbling all the time; Rocky, the cat food-stealing raccoon that has move in during the past few weeks; a pair of Blue Jays have nested right outside the bathroom window so I cannot open it up for fear of scaring them; a huge tuxedo cat that stalks Bottle, the former stray that now lounges around on the patio furniture. And of course, Alvin, the pine cone-hating chipmunk who likes to sit in the walnut tree and chatter nonstop for what seems like hours. Got to love the country!

I love this post!! Sounds like things are going very well there! And your garden is doing amazing!!! Awesome! I planted 48 marigolds in the front of our garden last night (supposed to keep bugs away?) & the 3 Cubanelle peppers that were delivered yesterday. I think that completes our garden for the year unless my sister decides she wants to plant a few more things - there is still room since we didn't plant potatoes this year. Ahhhh - fun times! But our corn isn't coming up yet! :-?

That's so cool that your brother is writing a book about Palmer. I'm sure it will be a hoot!!!

The twilight, the warm weather, the birds tweeting (as nature intended, not via smartphone) … a peaceful time of evening. When it gets a little darker I'll head to the 'Pines for some of that sweet tea.

It's 'Pines Night. Glad to be able to see all your smiling faces and a few glasses of Sweet Tea. Carl knows just how I like it. He also knows how to get me going. That camel refused to give me my Sweet Tea until I said "May I..." It's the last 'Pines Day of May, but he seems to want to commemorate the month one last time. I will commend him for his diligence.

I hope you all have had a wonderful day thus far. My day was quite easy. It was nice to finish it off with a gym period where I got to play basketball and dodgeball with the students. They always insist that I play. As long as the numbers are low, I don't mind it. Fun times!

Tomorrow should be a little busier. I am at Russell again, but with the Intermediate students. Well, I am over there the next two school days (tomorrow and Monday - Friday is a PD Day). It's work, and I know these kids fairly well, too. No complaints!

Well, I think should be exiting the 'Pines shortly. Kim's sister is coming to spend the night. Enjoy the rest of your 'Pines Day, everyone!

DH's birthday was yesterday. DD's birthday is next Tuesday & her party is tonight.

We'll be on vacation in two weeks. VBS is next week & we'll be prepping for vacation while DD is there.

Things are going well with DH's aunt's estate. No fussing, no fighting; just lots of cleaning, sorting, & figuring out how to get the bills paid. At this point, we feel a lot better about all of it & it shouldn't drag on too long.

Dad is feeling a little better since his medication update. Mom will be going on vacation with us, so we're excited about that.

Still lots for us to do in the next couple of weeks, so I may not get back to you all until mid-June. I hope everyone is well.

I'm gad things are improving for you, Whitney! You're lucky that your husband's aunt's estate is being settled easily. I have a few friend's families that have been torn apart by estate disagreements.

Well I have been trying to get on here most of the day but my borrowed internet connection wasn't cooperating. Of course now that it is working again, I'm to tired to respond to everyone. I did read through all of your posts though. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mom showed some signs of improvement but also some worrying signs today. So who knows what tomorrow will bring.

A very slow moving night at work, I was able to sneak out a few minutes early to get to JP's baseball game, and I am glad I did. He finally got his first hit of the season. He has been in a slump since last year when he got hit by a few pitches, he lost all confidence and has really struggled. I think now that he has gotten a hit, his confidence will be back and we will see him really start pounding the ball like he was last year.

I am up late again, alarm goes off early. I have the weekend off, not for the best circumstances, my wife's aunts funeral is Saturday.

I put in for my next vacation, if it works out it will be starting the same day as QVC CIJ. I can't wait.


I must try to get some Christmas dreaming in.

Good morning!
Happy Thursday!
I'm having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes but I have to get moving soon, I have to work today. Looks like we're going to get some rain, I hear some rumbles of thunder out there. Not too much going on after I leave the preschool, I'll just be working on some chores around the house. hopefully I'll have some time to pop back in here this afternoon.

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be a hot and sunny day here with a high of 84 degree's. I'm just trying to hold on until Sunday when a cool front comes through and we have highs in the 70's for a few days. Just the same old things going on here.
