Happy Tuesday to all!
We were watching a Thanksgiving episode of "Barney Miller" last night, which got me to thinking about Christmas tree decorating, which got me to thinking about a dilemma I'm encountering with my light strings ... I posted this in the Lights & Decoration forum already, but maybe you folks have some ideas ...
For the past few years I have been stringing mini-lights on an unlit tree (after getting rid of a problematic pre-lit tree), and I've been very happy with the results. Last year, however, I noticed that the three twisted wires that constitute a mini-light string were un-twisting and separating from twining them through the tree branches. In some places there are wide gaps between the wires that make the strings hard to manage. Has anyone else encountered this? Are there any tricks to re-twist the wires so the light string is easy to handle again? There must be an answer other than buying new light strings when the wires come un-twisted.
I have come across this almost exclusively on mini-lights I have bought from Rite Aid. It drives me nuts. You can try to re-twist them and use a green twist tie or something like that to keep it together.
