I'm so tired this morning, I am already looking forward to sleeping in next weekend! My last few weekends have been so busy, and with lots of travel, that I haven't been able to do that.

Good morning and Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Now that Father's Day has passed I have to start planning our July 4th barbecue, it will be here before I know it. I have to start working on a menu plan.
Typical day here for me, I have to work on my daily chores and run a couple of quick errands. I also have a neurologist appointment later this morning.

Good Morning to yet another new week, complete with new week numbers.

And the big news is, we are getting shockingly close to another Major Milestone.

The figures:
Days to the Season: 144
Days to Christmas Day: 186

And just how close are we to that above-mentioned Major Milestone?
Is barely over half a week close enough for you?
(I thought so.)
And that Milestone is the fifty percent mark to Christmas Day.
Zowie, Batman!



This heat and humidity. It's beginning to feel like it's permanent.
I know it isn't, but it feels that way. On and on and...........
Today has again commenced warm, at 74 degrees here in central NC.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mom's spaghetti was a wonderful as ever yesterday! After lunch, my brother and I rode through the woods in his 4WD Kawasaki Mule. Although I live in the south, I'm not necessarily a redneck, but I do like some 4-wheel driving now and then. :wink:

We went back to see Nancy's dad after he got home from a weekend at the coast. We boiled some fresh peanuts and they were great!

Good morning MerryCarey, Happy Monday!
I'm getting excited for the 4th as well! The fireworks, not so much. They scare the daylights out of Maggie and the cats. I love watching them on tv though! Trying to figure out what will be on the menu this year. Definitely burgers, hot dogs & chicken since they're favorites here, but I always like to come up with something new to cook as well.

Mmmmboy, I think I'll come to your barbecue, whether there's something new or not!

We usually watch fireworks on TV too, but we can usually hear them where we are. The sound of them takes me back to my childhood, when I could see the town's fireworks from my neighbor's carport.

Good morning MMC! Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Fathers Day! We were not able to have everyone at the lake for the 1st time in 15 years b/c it was just a wet soppy mess & by Sunday it was starting to stink! Stagnant water ~ blah! Sooo, we had everyone (both families) at our house! 40 people total could make it & my nieces Golden doodle Charlie came to play with Gracie. Too cute! We had sirloin burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, green onion brats & the new garlic butter brats from my BIL's meat store. OMGosh, they were delish! Everyone brought a dish, so of course we had sooooo much food! My island was covered! I think everybody had a good time! We sat outside some, but it was SO hot! Just after everyone left & I was inside cleaning up, I looked out the patio door & my friend & her daughter had stopped in on their golf cart, so my hubby picked up her hubby & we all sat out on the patio for awhile. It was a good day! Now it's back to Monday....

We have a busy week ahead, getting ready for the Country Fest. Our town festival which is across the street from our house is this weekend. Always a fun time! Our friends are planning to pull their camper to our house - probably Thursday & we always have overnight guests during festival weekend, so I have some cleaning to do!

That was definitely a thought, but my friend Rhonda held on to her collar & I had a bucket of water I washed her off with. BUT she got a complete bath before heading home yesterday!!! Silly girl is right!!

I would love to get together for a barbecue, that would be so much fun! The people in my neighborhood go overboard with the fireworks, even though they're not supposed to. In fact, we already heard some going off this past weekend!
