Happy Milestone Day, friends!

100 Days until the Christmas Season. Indeed, we have made it to such a stupendous celebration. What better way to celebrate than a visit to the 'Pines?! It is perfect!

I wish I could stay up to midnight and witness those triple digits turning to doubles, but I need my sleep. Hopefully it will look just as nice when I visit tomorrow.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their Milestone Day and, of course, has a blast at the 'Pines!

Have a great day Brent!

Good evening, Holiday! Glad to hear Gracie seems to be doing okay today - I'm feeling for you, friend. Lots of prayers for and Gracie. Hang in there. (((Hugs)))
Thanks sugar! When is Ella's surgery? Is that tomorrow, or next week? Prayers for you all!

Good morning everyone!

Still dealing with muscle aches from that crazy workout the other night but still manage to get up every am and go speed walking. I just hope I'll be back to my normal self by Monday, I can't start a long awaited vacation with my kids in pain. Any hoo...last evening my dog Buttercup was attacked by another dog as my kids and I were taking her for her evening walk. We had her leashed of course and this dog was purposely let out by the home owners 7yr old son, while they were sitting on their front porch. The screams that came from me while trying to protect my dog (who btw is a Pit Bull and reminded mummy she needs no protecting) were heard by my next door neighbor who came running to assist my kids and I. London was holding onto Buttercups leash while I had her collar with one hand while trying to pry them apart with my other but all the while not looking down to see what was going on. Finally, the owners of the dog Amber came to try to get the two of them apart and finally were able to. I was so upset I didn't want to look to see if Buttercup was hurt cuz if so I would have lost it. Well, come to find out it was the dog who attacked her who was in need of rescuing as I was told later by my neighbor who came running that Cup had Amber by the throat and was locked on her. My hand was bleeding as I had been cut trying to pry their mouths apart. Oh it was a mess. My neighbor and one of the owners of Amber walked us all home. Once we got back inside Buttercup who wasn't phased in the least was looking in her food dish for more dinner as if she had worked up an appetite. And she stuck to me like glue for the rest of the night.

My walking buddy thinks that I should file a report with animal control since this was apparently not Amber's first time attacking another dog on our street. She's attacked my neighbor's dog Hershey three times, each time while Hershey was on her own property. I may just look into it since this dog is proving herself to be very aggressive. Most would think it would be my dog who is the more aggressive one but she walks by other dogs while being walked and gets excited but nothing over the top. She never even pay Hershey no mind (I think she senses Hersh is getting along in years and feels bad for her).

I'm soooo ready for vacation!

Thank God you and your kids and Buttercup are alright. That makes me so upset and incredibly angry at the same time (((hugs)))
I hope you feel better Ladybugkisses, hope your hand is ok too.

Good Morning, friend~
I am so sorry you guys had to go through this!
It is frightening!!!
Glad to hear that Buttercup is ok physically. Keeping you all in my prayers!
I have no idea why people just don't follow animal ordinances and leash their dogs. So irresponsible!
Their pet could hurt others, or hurt themselves.
I'd definitely file a report, and get that put on record.
God bless & (((Hugs)))

Hope you feel better!

Thanks Snowflake. I realize that Buttercup can be a little frightening just to look at her but we keep her inside most of the time. I walk her early in the morning when most other doggies are still inside and in the evenings after she's had her dinner. Other times she's in our fenced in back yard. We always walk her with her leash and I'm thinking of getting a harness all for the piece of mind of our neighbors but they think that there's no need to take the same precautions with their pets. I have a neighbor who up until recently use to let her Chow-Chows just roam the neighborhood. Well, they caused a really bad car accident because the driver swerved to avoid hitting them and hit my walking buddies truck parked in their driveway. The police had to tell them they had to keep them behind their fence at all times.

If Amber was at a dog park, the aggressive behavior would have her removed from the group. I understand the panic as I experienced with my cat (the first O'Malley) he was torn apart by a German Shepherd when I was only 7or 8 years old. What bothered me most was that it was a friend of the owner who tried to help me save my cat while the dog's owner sat on a swing ignoring the situation. We filed a report and a police officer came and picked me up and had me point out the house where the dog lived. They received 2 fines, 1 for not having the dog leashed and another for not having it under their control. It bothers me that Amber attacked another dog on its own property. If their dog was injured by yours, they would file a complaint even though your dog was on a leash.

You love Buttercup and you guys are the responsible ones. So many people just let their dogs run loose and not only are they putting other dogs and people in danger, but they're putting their own pet in danger as well! Just like you said about the people with the Chow Chow's! We have a neighbor back home that lets their dog run loose and has gotten hit by a car twice now. You would think they would love their dog enough to not let the dog run loose anymore, but no… It's just a matter of time before it happens again. It's so sad.

Harlowe was attacked by a pack of loose dogs when we lived in Las Vegas. And she's never been the same towards other dogs since. That really angers me, why shouldn't we be able to walk down the street without having to worry about things like this ❤️
Glad that you're all OK! Hugs to you and Buttercup!

You've got a point. The more I think about it maybe I should call to report the incident. I just don't want to ruin my relationship with my neighbors. We all get along so well, our kids play together and we even have each other over for backyard BBQs. I don't want to be the one who called animal control but since this is happened more than once and I don't want anyone's pet getting hurt including Amber I think I should. Someone has to do what's right.

Good evening,

A long day off here, we spent the day cleaning out LC's room, the child is a pack rat. He saves everything, we had 4 bags of paper trash, he goes into the recycle bins and builds things out of the boxes, milk bottles, etc... We encourage his artistic whims but wow, we need to really get him to throw things away when he is done instead of saving everything.
I am up way too late again, I should get some sleep.
I hope you all had a great day.
Goodnight, everyone.

Take photos of the things he builds and start a photo album (digital or hard copy). Then he'll have those to remember and be proud of when the things themselves have to go.

Just like visiting relatives at Christmas when I was growing up, each festive homemaker had their own ideas of how things should look and feel, but the overall warmth and merriment were present everywhere we went. It's been like that in the countdown over the years and in the memories and plans we share all around this merry site. I love sharing this merry hang-out with others who don't consider my passion for Christmas to be odd at all. In fact, I think I might be a bit tame in comparison to several merry chums.

Perfectly said!
(And yes, do explore outside of the forums---it's like being let loose in a big Christmas store, or a library of all Christmas books.)

Good morning!
Happy Thursday!
It is going to be a beautiful day, mostly sunny, less humid with a high of 83 degrees. I plan on spending some time outside and enjoying the weather. I need to run a couple of errands first. I also have some cleaning to do. I'm holding off on the laundry because my dryer isn't working right. I'm hoping my husband can figure it out and fix it today. The laundry piles up fast in my house!
Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Yes, you need and deserve a vacation after such a harrowing episode.
Sometimes I believe it's training more than breeding that governs a dog's behavior toward other dogs. Buttercup is a pit bull, but a well-trained pit bull. The neighbor's dog, whatever the breed, NEEDS training, for the protection of the other dogs in the neighborhood---and possibly the neighbors themselves. A dog that aggressive could be going for people (or, heaven forbid, children) next, unless s/he is brought under control. If you talk to Animal Control about the problem, do it together with your neighbors who have had attacks. It'll carry more weight.
Cheers for Buttercup!

Your weather sounds delightful.
Hope you all figure out what's wrong with the dry.
Have a terrific Thursday!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's a rainy morning here in Central Indy but it's not a heavy rain so I don't mind. We should top out in the upper 70's later today. The other 3 days that they were showing in the 70's at the beginning of the week are now back to the mid 80's. Boo!!!!! I was looking forward to giving my A/C a break. Not to much on my agenda for today. Just need to head to the grocery store here in a bit. I may run to walmart too while I'm out. I don't really need anything from there but I could use the walking. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!
