Good morning MMC! Happy Monday!! I'm finally caught up! :D I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!
We had a pretty festive weekend. There weren't many people at the lake & Jim went loafing with his dad on Saturday so my friend & I took off on a road trip to a home décor place way out in the country. I had only been there once before at Christmas so I wanted to see it with fall things. It was fantastic! I'll have to post some pics in a fall thread! On the way back to the lake we stopped for lunch & then stopped at a farmers market to pick up pumpkins & mums. Such a fun & festive day. Then we watched the Buckeyes with friends. Yesterday I wanted to make soup over the fire but we ended up having my hubby's family over to our house to celebrate my FIL's birthday (was Friday). We got some unbaked pizza's & made 1 on the grill & the other 2 in the oven. They were delicious! My SIL made cinnamon rolls & my MIL made a carrot cake & Jim & I made homemade ice cream... geez, what a feast!! We sat out on our patio. It was a nice day! I watched the Hallmark movie last night "Lead With Your Heart" - I thought it was good! A good way to end the weekend. Boooo!!
:snowball
Have a Merry Monday everyone!!
I am so glad to know you enjoyed time with friends and family. It all sounds so very festive indeed, perfect fall weekend! Hope you are feeling a bit better after the news about your dear friend. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Thanks. I BELIEVE IN SANTA!
The boys at the shop love to impress us with their speedy service. They already called back about the tires and they don't have the exact same ones, but the ones they have are definitely fit for winter driving. I was going to use the money for these expenses to add a wiper to the rear window, oh well, guess I can wait a month or so to do that. There's a spider living in behind the driver side mirror, hope they flush him out while they're working on repairs. I didn't want to kill him, but every day I have to knock his webs off before I can enter the vehicle. I can't stand the feeling of having webs on my skin. I'm not afraid of spiders, but it's a yucky feeling that brings about visions of spiders taking over the world likely inspired from horror movies.

I hope the spider is gone!! I don't like spider webs either...but then again, I don't like spiders. LOL

I forgot to tell you guys about my date. We had to cancel our original date due to him having death in his family. :(
So we had to reschedule for this Saturday. I was soooo nervous - didn't know what to wear, didn't know what to do with my hair, got brows done and pedicure (do guys even notice??? - he did!!!) changed outfits like 40 times my oldest said I must have tried on every dress in my closet. Didn't want to appear to overdress like I was as the kids say "doin the most" didn't want to appear like I didn't care cuz I soooo cared. Picked a perfect dress I could dress up or down. I kept it casual - a little off the shoulders, cute sandals and makeup was a fresh look not dramatic. Took a cab to meet him (safety first - after all we did meet online!) and arrived a little ahead of him so I put our name on the list and five mins or so he arrived.

His online photo did him no justice. His is soooo handsome - blue eyes, salt 'n pepper hair (he's 44 -first time dating someone older than myself) and an athletic body. He was dress semi-casual - nice jeans and blue and white button down, nice shoes. He thought I was and I quote "Gorgeous!" and I blushed. Dinner conversation was very relax and enjoyable. My nerves melted and we laughed and laughed. We have soooo much in common - music, traveling, we both love war movies (he's a Veteran), similar situations with the closeness we have with our kids (each have 2 each). We were seated at 6:50ish and we were done by 7:40 so he asked if I had to get back home or did I want to continue (are you kidding!?!!!) and so he voided out the check he paid and we stayed for drinks and dessert, during which we decided to see a movie.

We saw the movie BLACK MASS - pretty good film. He drove me home (I felt comfy enough at this point). Upon walking me to my door he asked me out again for this Thursday which I played it cool and said "yes, I would like that very much" but I wanted to say "HAIL YEAH!!!" We've been talking and texting each other regularly since then. Sorry for the long message but can you tell that I'm excited??? Dating is rough and more times than not I've had some duds so to have a good one come along is awesome.

I have been thinking about you and wondering how it all went!! Yahooo!! I am so pleased to hear you had such a fun time and Mr. Blue eyes seems like real charmer. You must be so excited about your second date. I look forward to hearing how it all goes!

Sounds like a great night!!! Glad you had such a good time. Hope you have another great date on Thursday!! xx

Sounds like a fun weekend!! I watched Lead with your Heart too...I liked it too!!
Awesome! I set the DVR just incase I couldn't keep my eyes open, but it was good enough I made it all the way through!!!

Thank you Festive! I am feeling better about it today. Thankfully she didn't have to suffer long once they found the bone cancer & she's in a better place. Of course we already miss her, but don't want to see her suffer either!

I think they should have a holiday for anybody that comes BACK to work after lunch on such a GORGEOUS day!!!! :D
I think you should be in charge of that, considering your name! ;)
You can do it!! Xx

Thanks! Work has been very busy, but hopefully it makes the afternoon fly by!
:)

Hope you had a nice lunch break!
I hope it fly's by for you too!!! I did have a nice lunch break. As always, too fast. Gracie didn't want to have much to do with me at lunch - she was busy outside. LOL! The weather is just perfect! Hope you had a nice lunch too!

Let me guess. Someone ...or rather ... something ...came round to help you decorate for Halloween?

Yes! I'm not typically too squeamish around spiders, unless they're large or potentially poisonous/toxic. With that being said, I saw the largest spider I've ever seen yesterday....and it was felt, as well-crawling on my head while I was driving on the highway :(
I had just left Ken's house, and just started driving (1/2 mile down the road) and I felt something crawling on the side of my head. I thought maybe a lady bug/beetle, etc. Nope....
I flipped out!! And screamed the most blood curdling scream I could muster up. I was doing 60 mph, so all I could do was throw my hair all about, and I could still see it getting closer to my face. I pulled over to the side of the highway, and jumped out. I must've looked like a crazed lunatic, either that or I decided to pull over to do some head banging. It was terrifying! I pulled myself together, not knowing where the spider was (under my clothes? on my back?), and pulled onto a less dangerous county road, and called Adrian to come help me. He checked my hair, car, and clothing. We couldn't find it. :confused:Talk about the longest drive home (85 miles), I kept thinking it was crawling on me. I was shaking, lol. It could still be in my car, for all I know. I did leave my windows cracked, hoping it would crawl out if so. It took up a large amount of space on the side of my head, it had long legs, thick, furry. No exaggeration. I believe it is either a fishing spider, or wolf spider.

The above are photos of the species found in Wisconsin...I had no idea...

OMGosh!!!! YES, I would freak out!!! But oh SF, to have witnessed that all go down!!! :ornarment :D (I would have got the spider for you - I may have had to hit you in the head with my shoe to get it, but I would have got it!!) LOL! YUCK! I'm glad you didn't get bit & I hope he's gone....and I hope you don't have nightmares!!! (I probably would) UGH
