Just stopping by to say good night. I am exhausted! Just finished wrapping and setting up my son's presents in the living room and decorating with balloons and banners. Feels like Christmas!

Mr Festive has the day off for our son's birthday tomorrow so we will probably take him out somewhere and then have lunch out. Have a great Wednesday if I don't get a chance to pop in. Thank you for all the birthday wishes as well.

Hard to believe but MMC even makes my work day more enjoyable. Coming here during the day on my own self-made breaks lol. It's awesome.

Oh, I'm envious ... three weeks is what I get, and it doesn't increase. Still, I manage to make it work!

I get 2 weeks, but normally take 3 or 3 1/2. The bosses told me that when they hired me they knew Jim had a lot more vacation & I if I want to take more time off, that was fine, it would just be no pay. So a lot of times I'll take a Friday off & not pay myself since I normally only work 4 hours on Friday anyway. It all works, but we really should have 3 weeks. The guys have been here since 1989 with 2 weeks vacation. That's crazy! I've *only* been here since 2000. LOL

Merry Wednesday Morning MMC! Hope you all are well! Happy Birthday to FestiveSpirit's son!!

Heading into a full day of work in a bit, then church tonight. I'm sure time will fly. I'm getting my flu shot today as well (can't work around senior adults and not have one-the flu could seriously hurt them!), and trying to keep my stress level down. I've found Christmas music actually really helps with that-I notice my heart rate slowing and my breathing becoming deeper when I listen to it!

Soon it'll be everywhere again, which I can't wait for!
But for today, I hope everyone has a lovely Pines Day and enjoys what the day has to offer!

I never got the flu shot (and I almost never get sick...probably jinxed myself). My grams got the shot one year and then got sick that year. She said never again lol.

I don't get the flu shot either. I can't say I never get sick-mostly a cold, but so many people I know get sick as soon as they get the shot! I may get one when I get older (like my parents do/did) but for now, nada!

Good Wednesday Morning MMC. Ahh yes mid-week is here. We currently have 53 degrees under mostly clear skies in the suburbs of NY. We are expecting a high temperature of 67 today under partly sunny skies. Still loving these October weather days (although the weekend forecast looks more like November type weather).
How's everyone doing as we head into mid week? I almost forgot that I had off next Monday so even extra for me to look forward to these next 3 days. As I mentioned yesterday in a post I received my annual raise yesterday and feel fortunate. My office decided to "not close" for the week between Christmas and New Years as to give the employee's an option to not use PTO and work instead. I told them I might come in for 1 or 2 days tops but that's it. I need at least 9 out of 11 days off during that time of year. I'm gonna see my coworker wants to do. Last year we worked 3 days that week after Christmas and I told him I'm not doing that much again.
Anyway, tonight I'm going to the Chinese buffet for dinner. That's even more motivation to do this Wednesday thing huh? Happy Hump Day and Pines day everyone! Talk to you guys later.

What a bummer you won't be closed between the holidays, but I guess working a day or 2 won't be so bad. Good luck with deciding! Have a great day!!! 2 + more days & then it will be 3 day weekend time for you!

Thank you both.
Maggie is sleeping peacefully right now. Last night, not so much. My husband took her on the couch in the middle of the night so I could get a few hours of sleep. She'll be on the antibiotics for two weeks so I'm hoping that what ever is going on will improve.

What a little stinker!!!! Seems to be a pattern here! LOL! I hope she gets her sleep turned around soon. I'm glad you were able to get some sleep last night. Have a great day HMG!

Days to Halloween: 17 (Under 2 1/2 weeks left!)
Days to the Season: 30 (LESS THAN ONE MONTH REMAINS!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 72 (Closing in on 10 weeks!)

The days are passing quickly.
Indeed they are.


Well, we remained rain free yesterday despite a few threatening clouds and now the weather service says we are in for a dry rest of the week with moderate temps.
(Fall can be good here in NC!)
Currently, we show 58 degrees on our thermometer.


Well, I hope to see many of you at the 'Pines this evening.
Rumor has it that Carl is already into the process of working up a special Halloween open house in two weeks when we reach the last Wednesday in October. I'm sure none of us want to miss that one!

We have been in the mid 90's for the past several days. At work on Sunday it was 95 degrees and our AC was out - fun! Where is fall? This weekend will drop down to the lower 80's and I hope it keeps on dropping!

I have never had the flu shot either. I did come down with the flu last year for the first time in my adult life. Went to the doc with the first symptoms, they tested me positive for the flu and put me on Tamiflu. Actually was reluctant if it would work but I was better in 2 days! I probably should get the shot this year but haven't made up my mind yet.
