Resilient:
Despite a world that is moving too fast and changing by the minute, we have a community that is steadfast in holding on to the very thing that harkens us back to a simpler time. It is a time of goodwill, and deep values of togetherness, thoughtfulness, and genuine concern and care. We have never "officially" met. Sure, we Facebook, yet we do not physically visit each other. However, we share with one another tragedies and joy. We send each other gifts and notes. We cyber visit and year to year we move ahead united with one thing in common: we love the holidays and we daily think about each other.

I repeat my annual refrain: in a world surely gone mad, we adamantly refuse to become cynical. We are together, we are community, we are genuine, and we are resilient. We are the family of My Merry Christmas.

And so it has come to this: four days until the season.

Wonderful post Binger, wishing you and yours a beautiful Christmas season!

Morning all. Monday again, the weeks are flying by. Hope everyone has a great start to the week.
Morning, 'Tis!!
Good morning everyone
Morning, Irish!!
Morning, Festive!!
Good morning! My week is off to a productive start. Here's to hoping everyone else's is as well! :D
Morning, Coen!!
Morning, MMC!

I'm one sleepy girl this AM. Slept so deeply last night I didn't even hear my husband's pager go off the first time. He got paged twice last night at 10:30 and at like 2 I think? I've forgotten already because I was so asleep! In any case, it was one of those nights where you sleep like a rock but also get woken up in the middle of it. And it's a MONDAY. Oh well. I could complain, but then I'd waste today, and I'm not about to do that!

Headed into work at the retirement community today. Lots to get done, but it's going to be a great one. I hope each of you have a wonderful day today--and that you get to spend some of it with the people you love dearly! Let's have a FAB FOUR days until Christmas season day!

Morning, DYHWIH!!
Good Monday Morning MMC! It's currently 38 degrees under sunny skies. We are expecting a forecast high temperature today of 60 degrees with partly sunny skies.
As I stated last night it really hit me on Sunday that the Christmas season is really here. There's been years in the past where it just seems that the reality of it hits me too late. I just felt this vibe around me all day yesterday. Anyway, let's all have a great week and now even more reason to look forward to Friday this week. I believe November 13th has some sorta special meaning to us MMC people?
Have a great day. Talk to you guys later!
Morning, Edge!!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Y'all, how's a fella supposed to work with so much good college football on today? Not to mention I really want to go to our local Christmas store. Hmmmm.

I am going to see Peanuts this afternoon and can't wait. My mom is meeting us there and it should be a good time and a nice break.

But tonight Oklahoma plays...and that Alabama versus LSU matchup looks interesting. Not to mention Oklahoma State this afternoon. Oh man, what have I gotten myself into?! :)
Glad to hear you enjoyed the Peanuts movie! Can't wait to see it! Hope you got everything done that you wanted to this weekend!

Good evening, MMC!
Well, I made a good dent in the decorating.
Going to call it good for the night.
We are going to put a movie in, and have a glass of wine.
Enjoy your Saturday night!

Good morning MMC!! Thought I would pop in to say "HI" ::wave before I try to get caught up from the weekend! I'm excited to read the special posts! Something to look forward too on a Monday morning! I wanted to check in yesterday, but the day was just busy! I had to get my appetizers ready to roll for my sisters surprise 40th Anniversary party...which they were VERY surprised! It was great! My future nieces shower was good on Saturday - she whipped through them presents - was done in an hour! "you go girl" :D Our family all went together -we made it a shower & wedding gift - & got her a very nice (big) camera & case she was wanting, along with extra cash to buy a new lens or 2 - or whatever accessories she will need. We told her she is the new family photographer! :)
I have a busy day today ~ I'm going Christmas shopping with my neighbor ladies tomorrow so I need to find Macy's, Carsons, Kohls, etc coupons....I also need to get to the grocery b/c I don't know if I have enough coffee for everyone in the morning. They are meeting at our house for coffee & cinnamon rolls ~ so obviously I need to make cinnamon rolls too! I don't have time for this work thing today. Ha ha ha!
Have a great Monday MMC!
Here is a pic of a few of my great niece & nephews at the party yesterday - love it! Little cheese balls!

Morning, Holiday! Great pic!!
Good morning, everyone!

The final full week before the Christmas Season has completed. Now, we're into the final sprint. Temperatures in Canada's Capital are a comfortable mid-single digits/40s today. We should reach a high of about 11c/49f. Good stuff for being so close to our favourite Season.

I had a fairly enjoyable, yet busy weekend. In a sense of spending money, it was productive. I had to purchase some winter tires for our new car (we bought it in July). I got a great deal and only spent $370 on winter tires that were only used for about three weeks and regularly retail for about $650. Hooray! Yesterday, I drove about 45 minutes to pickup some steel rims for super cheap. They were only $30 for four.. and they're usually at least $150 for four. Good things come to those that are willing to drive, I guess!

Kim and I also attended our old roommate Mike's wedding shower. His wife's family came up from Florida, so it was a very nice occasion. We were glad to celebrate with them.

This week should be a busy one. As of right now, I am only working today and Friday. I'm really hoping for work to come in for tomorrow and Wednesday. I cannot work Thursday due to having a tooth pulled. Not looking forward to that at all! I need work. Hopefully I can get at least one more day.

Well, here we are, everyone. The Christmas is ready to Blossom. I can't wait. There are only four days left until we can say those two magical words. Have a great Monday!
Morning, Brent!! Congrats on finding those deals!
Good Morning, Everyone! Sunny and 32 degrees here. This Monday is starting out so much better now that I have stopped by and got my Christmas fix. Have a great day! :)
Morning, missiechick!!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

SPECIAL POST NOVEMBER 8, 2015
I remember when I was 7 and I received a gift from Santa on Christmas morning. It was a gift that I had wanted all year. I remember the excitement that I felt when I opened it, turning to my mom and saying "I got it because I said God bless you when someone sneezes." My mom smiled at me.

I remember when I was 10 and my younger siblings and I became so obsessed with Christmas that we started our own little daily "meetings" late at night after we were supposed to be sleeping and vowed to keep those meetings going all year long because we loved Christmas so much. We'd just lay there together and talk about Christmas time and how special it was.

I remember when I was 12 and my dad (who had gotten cancer earlier that year in the summer) sat in his chair weak but would not let the tradition of reading "Twas the night before Christmas" to his kids stop. I remember laying in bed listening to him and knowing in my heart that would be the last time that he would read this to me on Christmas Eve. He passed away about 6 weeks later.

We're expected to love Christmas when we're a kid. But now that we're adults we at MMC love Christmas more than we ever did as children. Why? I have often asked myself that question. Maybe it's because in a world that often feels as if it's in turmoil, one of the very few things we can count on getting BETTER each year is the Christmas season.

We started our journey in January and February in the depths of winter sad, missing our Christmas season that just had passed. We came out of those darker/colder days to days of hope in March and April with spring time and Easter. We continued our voyage into May and June with the summer time beginning and Memorial Day. We moved through the hardcore summer into July and August as we started seeing Christmas on t.v. with "Christmas in July." We hit the "bers" with September and October as we moved from summer into Autumn and the month of our beloved Halloween. Now we are here in November with the Christmas season about to begin and Thanksgiving just a few weeks away. And last but certainly not least we have December ahead of us...the month of Christmas.
The year only gets better as it goes forward. Fittingly, Christmas falls in the last month of the year because of course as the saying goes "save the best for last."

MMC is a special place. It's the best website on the internet with some of the best people around the world. I've been to plenty of sites before but none are as accepting and awesome as the fine people of MMC. I'd like to personally thank all of you for accepting me and for accepting each other.

In closing, I just want to say that I hope each and every one of you has the best Christmas season of your entire lives this year. Enjoy every moment that you can. Even through the busy times, with work, school, kids, etc. take some time for yourself to "stop" and take it all in. After all, we've had a long 300+ day journey to get to this point. The Christmas season is upon us. Smile and be happy for this is the most special time of the year to us. We're here. While it's great to remember the memories from our past (as I stated some of mine at the beginning of this), I want you all to focus on the present and making new Christmas Season memories every moment that you can this year.
Merry Christmas to all of us at MMC. Let it begin...
What an awesome & heart warming post!! Great job Edge! Feeling festive! I'll read again... :)
:blinky:

Good morning everyone, Happy Monday!
I'm heading out soon, I have a few errands to run. Back home after to work on some chores around the house. I have so much laundry to do, I slacked this weekend!
Hoping to do a little online Christmas shopping if I have the time. I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for the girls, it was so much easier when they were little!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week ahead!

Snowflake, here is the recipe for the stuffing-and-cranberry cookies:
Stuffing%20and%20Cranberry%20Cookies.png

Notes: My yield was more like a couple dozen, and it took about 15 minutes per batch at 350 degrees ... if I make them again, I think I'll try them at 375. They don't get very crisp; they're kinda cakey in the middle.

This time of year I think we all need a sabbatical to just DO CHRISTMAS!

Thanks, Sam~
Much appreciated!
We will be calling Har's vet first in the morning, hoping to get her in Monday or Tuesday.
xx
Oh no! Prayers for you & Har!

I don't know guys today felt like the season started for me. This weekend has been really awesome. I found out today my brother is coming from CA Dec 19th and staying for at least 10 days. I mean I knew he was coming for Christmas but didn't think for that long and just hearing him telling me the exact date got me so excited. Talked to my mom today about Thanksgiving and getting a turkey etc. Just felt like everyone around me today was getting into the holiday spirit big time. I don't even care that I have to go to work tomorrow. I'm on an adrenaline high...and I feel like this time of year that I don't even want to rush the work days by either.
Love it!!!! It's getting so close now! How fun your brother is coming in for 10 days. My brother is coming in on the 19th of November for my nephews wedding ~ looking so forward to that, but not sure how long he is staying. And I'm hoping this doesn't mean he won't be coming home for Christmas. That would be a BIG bummer!!

Good Morning MMC !
So many up so early on a Sunday morning, :D:D:D

It is a chilly morning here, more in keeping with it being November. Have to drop off the operation Christmas child gift boxes at church this morning.

LittleCS & her brother and I will be working on our plans for this years gingerbread house competition this afternoon. Theme is "my favourite Christmas story". Still have not chosen a book to use, but am leaning towards The Christmas Box. LittleCS & her brother have not chosen one yet either so I think we will go to the library this afternoon.

wow I thought this post deleted, and not having time to retype it left it.

So I guess this is a late good morning ...LOL
Have fun with the gingerbread houses. I just bought "The Poky Little Puppies 1st Christmas" for my unborn great niece (due Dec 20th)
