Good times are ahead at the 'Pines tonight... It will have to be an early night for me. I have dental surgery in the morning. I'm getting a tooth pulled. Yep. A tooth pulled on the day before the beginning of the Christmas Season. Oh, and it's also my Special Post Day! Good thing it's already written!

As for tomorrow, don't worry about me too much. Send all your positive thoughts to my brother. He awoke today to find that his best buddy Mr. Kittles (his cat) had crossed the rainbow bridge sometime overnight. Needless to say, he has been heartbroken all day. The two were best friends for Mr. Kittles short six years on this earth. They really don't know the cause of his death. I feel absolutely awful for my brother (Brad) and his wife Cassandra. They have been through a lot this year, especially with Cass beating cancer. Anyway, please send your best to my brother and Cass. I hope that one day, they will one day be reunited with someone that brought them so much joy.

He was a handsome guy...

They will be in my thoughts.

Good evening,

The turkeys are kicking my butt, I am quite sore tonight, and we haven't even gotten that busy yet. 2 more weeks of thus craziness. I did finally get the store manager to approve my markdown on the prices to try to get more customers in because they are not moving nearly as fast as they have in years past.
I can't believe we are a mere 25 hours and 54 minutes from the season. I hope I will be able to stay awake for it tomorrow night.
Tomorrow will be here too quickly, I am going to head to bed soon.

Goodnight, everyone.
Rest peacefully, bud.
Goodnight!
(((Hugs)))

Special Post Day 4

I stumbled upon MMC a few years back by accident. I had wondered if there were others like me, who looked forward to Christmas all year, who listened to the occasional holiday song in July, and who even went “hunting” for seasonal merchandise once Autumn rolled around. I figured there weren’t many. One day I happened to search for “Countdown to Christmas” and came across this special place, Crown’s daily updates, and all of you. I simply “lurked” for a while, checking the countdown several times a week for an update of how long I had to wait for that magical day, and browsing some of the articles Jeff and the others posted. But then something happened: I started to care for people I didn’t know…people I hadn’t even introduced myself to. I started to pray for people who needed prayers and rejoice with people who shared good news. So, I finally decided it was time to introduce myself and I’m glad I did. I’ve made some wonderful friends here who are now part of my daily life and I can’t imagine a year without you all! When my dad was fighting his life-ending battle, you all were there. When the May 2013 tornado devastated my hometown, you all were there. When I celebrated a new job, you all were there for that, too. You’ve been there through good times and bad, because that’s what family does. And it’s been noted before by others, far more eloquently, but it bears stating again: we’re a family.

The Mighty Jay Isherwood once made a comment that in recent years he’s felt that old Christmas Spirit in July more than he has in December. I have to say I agree with that. When the rest of the world has moved on to other things, MMC keeps the spirit alive, putting forth those values associated with Christmas such as love, peace, and goodwill. So, please accept my heartfelt thanks. Crown, your service to us means so much as you provide joy each day with your countdown. Thank you for what you do! Christmas Crew, MerryCarey, Brent, and so many others who give of their time and efforts to make this happen, Thank you! And of course, thank you to the one and only Made who I have relied on so many times for technical support, as well as friendship. And thank you to you all for being here and being a family. There’s not another bunch in the whole world I’d rather share Christmas, or Christmas in March, July, or September with, than you all. Merry Christmas.

I love being part of this Christmas family too! Thanks for the great post, Ryan! :)

Thanks, snowflake. It should be a quick one, but I am not looking forward to the pain... I am sure Brad and Cass appreciate your help as much as me. He will be missed.

Hi all! Finally caught up on my reading! So much going on here. I am off to bed and so excited for tomorrow! Not sure how I will sleep, what with being happy for some, sad and hopeful for others, and looking forward to the countdown to the season!! Have a wonderful night and don't spend all night at the Pines. :)

Deeply saddened to read of your brother's loss. Keeping them in my thoughts and sending them my best.

Good luck today at the dentist. Hope it all goes smoothly.
