Good Wednesday morning MMC! It's one of my favorite days to go to work. Thanksgiving eve is here. Unbelievable. I brought in breakfast for my coworkers as I do every year on the day before Thanksgiving. Last year we left at 1:30 but this year our goal is to leave by noon. I'm very happy to be able to share these special days and moments with all of you. I hope you all have a great day and you feel as excited as I do today.

Now to go and make a batch of fondant and a bowl of icing!

And say, now. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, isn't it?
Let's check the count to be certain:

Days to Thanksgiving: 1 (Yep. TOMORROW, alright.)
Days to Christmas Day: 30 (ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!)


A bit warmer yesterday than it was Monday.
Still warmer weather is predicted for today, with the trend continuing on through Friday before we cool off again. No rain on the horizon, either.
(Nice!)
We are at 34 degrees here in the capital city at this hour but hopefully will get a quick warm-up.


OK, Folks!
Tonight at the Shispering Pines is another open house you just don't want to miss. I refer, of course, to Carl's annual Thanksgiving Eve celebration at our MMC-friendly resort inn of choice.

It goes without saying that a suptuous dinner with all the trimmings will be served in the formal dining room.
It also goes without saying that the inn's decor will be High Thanksgiving.
But if it's a Thanksgiving atmosphere you want, don't wait beyond tomorrow. I never ceased to be shocked at how quickly Carl can see to it that the 'Pines gets into a totally Christmas mode so quickly!

Anyway, I plan not to miss it and hope to see as many of you there as possible this evening.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve morning, my Christmas friends!

All this talk of going home early today is making me jealous. We usually cut out a little early on Christmas Eve, but they're not so forgiving on Thanksgiving Eve. In their defense, however, they do give us the Friday after Thanksgiving with pay, too. So, we get a four day weekend after today!

We checked out the mower Mama was interested in, and it looked good, so she bought it. It's one of those industrial zero-turn SCAG-brand mowers. She needs it, because she includes the whole pecan orchard as her yard. That's several acres of grass to cut, but she loves it!

We're BBQ-ing chicken for the plant today, and the whole place is filled with the smell of chicken cooking. I'm getting hungry!

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day, Happy Hump Day, & a Festive Thanksgiving Eve!!! It's a beautiful morning here - sunshine, frosty & warming as the day goes on! 60º tomorrow ~ hard to believe it's Thanksgiving! It should be good weather for a walk after our meal tomorrow!

Tonight we go to see Mama Mia - looking forward to that. My sister is having us all over for chili (or taco salad) & grilled cheese before the show. We figured it would be too rushed to try to go out to eat 1st, so she offered to have us over! Last night I made a pumpkin roll to bring there & I also brought one in to work this morning. I also got the sausage dressing made! Productive night...except my Kitchen Aid was running so much I couldn't hear Charlie Brown Thanksgiving! I'll have to watch it on DVD.

I don't think I told you that the vet called yesterday & said Gracie's specialist is out of town until Dec 1st so her test results won't be read until she gets back. Ah, the waiting game! At least Gracie seems fine (knocking on wood) so we'll keep doing what we're doing!

Oh, parade update! My friend texted last night & said her daughter is towards the end of the parade, as a matter of fact, she is in the group that will be introducing........ SANTA CLAUS!!! How fun is that??!?!! Apparently she is in a group of 600 dancers. She will be in the 2nd row!
Not that you will get a great view of her on tv but this is her in the middle (blonde)

Good afternoon, everyone! We do not celebrate Thanksgiving over here, but tomorrow we will officially open the new building of our school. That will be a festive happening that I am really looking forward to. I am feeling less tired today and the students were awesome.

Good Morning, MMC!!!! The warm up continues today with a high near 60 degree's. Yay!!! More cooking for me today too. I need to make the baked corn, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, cole slaw, pea salad, bake the pies, make up the stuffing, and get the turkey ready. You would think I was feeding an army. It's only going to be 6 of us though. LOL!!!! They are all picky eaters though. So you have to make enough sides to give everyone at least 2 or 3 things that they will eat. At least there should be enough leftovers to make it through the weekend. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Exciting update from my neck of the woods:

I've been asked to play in the city pops band for the big Christmas Concert next month! Rehearsals start again...TONIGHT. Surprise! I can't wait to go play some instrumental Christmas arrangements for band, including the ever-popular Sleigh Ride!

It's chilly here tonight, but nothing like last night. We'll be up and down the next few weeks it looks like...but I remind myself when it's a little warm that it's okay--it keeps the heating bills down!
