Christmas Countdown - 2015

We're back home after a short yet wonderful time with the grandchildren. After dinner on Friday night, we gathered in the livingroom where the REAL Christmas Tree stood beautifully decorated for us to admire as we watched each grandchild and my oldest grandson's girlfriend unwrap their presents one at a time.

At one point, I heard Number 1 son turn to Number 2 son and say, "She is Shawna Claus" and when we were heading for home he hugged me so tight and said, "We can all tell how much thought went into each of the gifts."

I have a few gifts to pick up tomorrow and it appears that we will have no snow for Christmas. There's a dusting of it now, but we're expecting rain so it will likely melt away. My dad already has back up plans for the luminaries; we'll fill them with white sand instead of snow this year.
We chatted about the food I'll bring over on Christmas Eve to help them with their merry buffet of an assortment of snacks and Christmas goodies.


 
Our family just watched "The Nativity." Although the movie is not factual regarding the timing of the wise men's visit, it is powerful. It is hard to grasp God becoming a man, born of a virgin, coming to a world he created and being placed in a manger made of wood from a tree he created. Knowing he would eventually be crucified on a cross made from a tree he also created. Rising from the dead to provide the only way mankind may have a relationship with God the Father and have everlasting life. As Linus said, that's what CHRISTmas is all about.

Good Christmassy Morning MMC !!

we are going to have a green Christmas heere this year, going up as high as 14c (56f) this week, going to be breaking some records with that !

I am feeling better but have no energy so going to take day off work Would rather do that than go in and possible pass it on to someone else. I only do 4 hours shifts right now so hopefully they do not have trouble replacing me.

So will spend day hanging out here and maybe doing some baking.
