It was a bit slippery on the way home. The hardest part of the trip home was getting from my car to inside the house. Ice, ice, ice! So glad to be home and safe!

Well, I guess I'll tell you all about my big Christmas adventure. On December 23, I went next door to check on my Mom. It was raining and her steps were slippery. To make a long story short, I took a fall down her steps and thought I just really sprained my ankle. It was so much worse on the 24th that I spent most of the day in the ER. Turns out I broke the bottom part of my left fibula. That's the smaller bone in your lower leg. I received a lovely stylish boot and instructions to go home and keep ice on it. It's not one of the more serious breaks… didn't even displace. But it put a stop to all Christmas plans for the year. At this point I' stuck upstairs at home because there's no bathroom downstairs and the steps are a major deal to navigate. I have an orthopedist appointment on Thursdsy and then hopefully will be able to get back to work. I enjoyed the enforced rest at first but now I'm very bored. What a horrible time of year for this to happen!

Ah! That reminded me of Christmas Eve 2004 when I missed a step on the stairs in our house and fell. Thought I had broken my ankle but it turned out to be just a bad sprain.
Took 6 months before it felt right again!

I haven't been able to do one every single day, but it is fun to listen to the songs in the middle of the summer. I have learned of so many songs that I had never heard before.
 
Good evening,

I did my inventory, I did it in 3 hours all by myself. Both people who were supposed to help me did not come in tonight. So now I am officially done for the year after working a 3 hour shift.
Not much else to report tonight, the roads were wet and it was a slow go with the freezing rain falling.

Same here on my way home. I hurt all over from struggling to stay on my feet while clearing the day's accumulation of ice from the car, and while getting from the car to the front door. I think I strained some muscles while slipping and recovering, but at least I didn't fall. I'm done for the year, too! Tomorrow I can make Chex mix for New Year's Eve, write some Christmas thank-you notes, and pick up some things at Staples, if the ice melts.
