Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends, and Happy First Day of Spring!

We had such a busy weekend, I never really saw it. I worked all day Saturday, then we went to see the play that Jacob is performing with the orchestra in. We got home around 1am, then we had to get Elizabeth to a dance competition at 8am Sunday morning. That lasted till late yesterday. I really don't mind coming to work anymore.

Taking Elizabeth back to dance practice tonight. I hope y'all have a great day!

Welcome to Spring Brad. How well I remember those days of running the children around and going to their many events and yes, sometimes going to work to get a moment of rest... lol.
While I miss having the children around now and then, I do enjoy some of these much more relaxing days off. Enjoy your week...

Happy Spring MMC! Winter has ended and now we're into the springtime. Looks like we will have a nice 1st day of spring with high temps near 50! I know that doesn't sound like it's overly warm but compared to what it's been this month of March that will be a heatwave. Had a good 3 day weekend and it reminded me how important they really are because that extra day off truly makes a difference. Next one for me will be Easter weekend (taking off Good Friday). Till then it's back to work. Have a good 1st day of spring!

Happy First Day of Spring. I one nice thing about working at Wal-Mart is that so much stuff gets lost around the store and many times, a few months after a holiday (like Christmas), something will pop up. Now usually, this late in the game, we just ship it back, but if I see it, I will check the price and many times purchase it.
For this year... a red plush Santa stocking $.10, a light up Northpole plush snowball $.24, three Christmas Wreath candles (13oz in jars) $.75 each and a set of two Christmas gift card holders $.10. For a grand output on my part of $1.19.

Morning. Still dark as Spring begins to be sure. My day began around 5AM. I use to have three large dogs who were all scared of the thunder, so when it hit, I would go downstairs with them and lay down on a two-inch foam pad covered with two large (and older) comforters. They would trap me between them and then fall asleep while I tried my best to get comfortable. Luckily I was still in my forties then.

Thanks HMG! I agree!! If only I could get paid to stay home & comfort her in the storm!
It's still raining but it seems the thunder has passed for now. I turned on the tv, & a few lamps in the basement for her, so she shouldn't be able to hear too much down there...she might get brave & go back upstairs if it doesn't thunder again!

And yes, we also move right along into the first day of Spring, the next season over in our quest for Christmas 2017.

Continuing on now with our countdown:
Days to the Season: 238
Days to Christmas Day: 280

Hey, hey, hey. UNDER a week away now from 2017 Milestone marker number five, the ONE QUARTER point to Christmas Day.
And if that doesn't get your blood flowing to start this new week and new season, be aware of the fact that after we pass the 1/4 Christmas day marker, out next two Milestones are back-to-back, an event that only occurs once a year.
(Too soon to go into detail, but if you are curious, check out the chart!)


It was a bit coolish here yesterday but still not bad at all for the final close-out day of Winter.
After a cold start this morning, we should get up into the mid 60's by this afternoon, then the upper 70's tomorrow!
Right now, we commence this brand new week and season at a chilly 33 degrees here in the capital city.

Bless her heart! Lulu is the same way about thunder storms. My brother and I don't even shoot skeet on Sunday afternoons at Mama's, because Lulu goes with us, and it scares her to death. She's in the house, and we shoot in a field a pretty long way from the house, but she can hear it.

Bless her heart! Lulu is the same way about thunder storms. My brother and I don't even shoot skeet on Sunday afternoons at Mama's, because Lulu goes with us, and it scares her to death. She's in the house, and we shoot in a field a pretty long way from the house, but she can hear it.

Awe!! Bless Lulu's heart! That's nice of you to not shoot when she's with you! That sounds like Gracie at the lake during duck/goose season...also fireworks & thunder. They don't like those loud noises!!
