Thank you! I am trying not to read it but it has popped up on my news feed because his aunt has commented on a couple of the stories telling people how much they loved their little girl. I hate seeing how nosy people are being

I'm dreading the snow here. Even though it won't be much I hate driving in it.
Good Afternoon .. I am on my lunch break so I wanted to stop in before my lunch is over ... Well are expecting our first measurable snowfall of the season tonight, it's only suppose to be an inch or 2. I love when it the snow is falling .. so peaceful. It should be interesting to see how our big puppy will react to it :)

hope everyone has a great day!
I'm in Gloucester county

Thank you! People are spreading rumors on the news article postings in Facebook and they have no idea what the family has been through.
So terrible! :(

Hope the puppy loves it. Gracie is so funny today. She is just absolutely giddy in the snow. Too funny! She was SO excited to go out at lunch today - She ran around & ran around!! LOL

The noon forecast predicts 4-6 inches for our area.
Very low chance of sleet or freezing rain, which is what causes the damage around here.
It is still snowing so pretty here.
I can always do without the sleet or freezing rain. Hope that misses you too!

Love when dogs go crazy in the snow. Loki sometimes buries his head in the snow when he picks up on a scent. Comes out with his beard all white and frosty. Glad that Gracie is back to her old self after throwing up over the Holidays.

It is snowing SO pretty right now!! I love this...just so everyone stays safe!!! xx

Funny you say that b/c when Gracie went out this morning there was barely a dusting of snow. Maybe a little bit in the indents of the concrete on our patio. When she came to the door she had a "beard" full of snow!! I was like "WHERE did you find all that snow???" I looked on the back patio & sure enough you could see exactly where she was dragging her nose around in it. Too darn funny!!
I hope Loki gets to have a beard full of snow or 2 this winter!! :D

Everyone have a wonderful, warm, evening!!!! Brrrrrr, it's cold outside!

Good morning Martine. She's doing much better, she looks good, but she's so ready to come home from the nursing home! She's been in pretty good spirits, but she doesn't put much effort into her therapy....and that's what she needs to do if she wants to go home!! She's on Coumadin for at least 3 months, so falling is a big risk. BUT she could fall at the nursing home too, so we'll see. Thanks for asking!
Prayers for your Mom...I hope she is able to come home soon. Hope you have a great night!

Thank you everyone for all the prayers for Mike's family. They kind of have an idea of what happened, but now the news has gotten ahold of it either by release of investigators or scouring local funeral home websites just looking for a story. I wish people would let them grieve and leave them alone and not show up at their house looking for comments from the family.
We are all still so very heart broken. Yesterday Carolina told me that she was lonely in heaven but I told her that her cousins heart was full of all the love everyone has for her and that she's never alone.
I am so sorry for your loss, what a tragedy and then to have to have to deal with the press is terrible.

I'd much rather deal with 4-6 inches of snow than a half of an inch of ice!!
Me too!! Ice is terrible!

All Christmas decor is packed away for another year & everything put back in it's "normal" place. Christmas was a dud this year for our little family. Nothing bad happened, just not exciting like it has been since DD was born. At 11, we had to tell her the "truth" about Santa (too many kids saying he wasn't real), Elf on the Shelf, & Tooth Fairy (she lost a tooth in the middle of all this too) & it killed the spirit for us this year. Also, it was 65 degrees & we had the doors & window open at my parent's house on Christmas night.

Back to reality! I've been back at work for two days & school started back today for DD. However, we are supposed to get two inches of snow over night & school is already on a two hour delay. I'm pretty sure there won't be school tomorrow. DD will be with my at work tomorrow if that happens. She says she likes coming to work with me & we're a small office, so no one minds. As long as she has an electronic device & headphones, she's good!

Sorry to hear that Christmas wasn't as exciting this year. My sister in washington had to deal with the Santa issue this year too.

Stay safe in the snow!!

Whitney,

I know the feeling all too well. Here in Southern California for the past few Decembers the weather had been pretty indistinguishable from summer time. I often found myself in the middle of the month having just the hardest time trying to get into the holidays simply because of the weather. I can distinctly remember for the past few years looking outside my house on Christmas Day and just shaking my head at how warm and sunny it was. Fortunately this year we got a real cold front that came through in mid November that stuck around through all of December and is continuing on into January. And I noticed an exponentially larger number of people getting into the Christmas spirit than in the previous few years because of it. But I can definitely see how weather can be a real drag on the holidays if it just doesn't bring on the kind of festive atmosphere you want.

As far as your other point goes with Santa, just because nobody in your family believes in him in the traditional sense anymore doesn't mean you can't still make him part of your Christmas morning tradition. My siblings and I are all grown and we still open presents from "Santa" along with my parents. Just small little presents in the stocking or something. It's just tradition, it wouldn't feel right without it. In fact it's the obviousness of it all now that still makes it fun. If anything, since we all kind of go out and get "Santa" gifts for everyone else, its kind of fun for someone to open a gift without knowing right away who exactly got it for them. I got everybody a pin from Disneyland for the Tower of Terror ride that's closing soon, wrapped them up individually, including one for myself, and so when we all opened them on Christmas morning nobody knew exactly who got it for everyone. Obviously that information came out soon after, but for a brief moment before that it was Santa. I think now that it's out there just have fun with it as more of a tongue in cheek kind of thing when you tell her it's a present from Santa.
