Hey hey all. Rare visit from a real veteran. Hope everyone is well. Peace and joy. Yabba!

Bing it's awesome to hear from you! I'm now hankering for some CIJ actions. Will be here before we know it though! Have a wonderful week and don't be a stranger!

Good evening,

I haven't been here since Thursday, just not enough time in the dsy. We went to the Black Wolves game on Friday night, they lost badly, but by the time we got home and having to get up the next morning for work I got about 3.5 hours of sleep. Been too tired to pop in the last few nights. I am now a week behind on the posts, hopefully I will be able to see what everyone is up to.

Goodnight, everyone

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

The prom is finally behind me! Elizabeth was more beautiful than I expected, outshining everything around her. She went with a group of friends, and she said they all had a great time dining and dancing. Most of the seniors went to the beach afterwards, so she came home at 10:30, never being more than two blocks from home. In the tenth grade, she's still too young to date, but I didn't mind (too much) her going to the prom with a group of friends, as long as she didn't leave Bellville, and came home when the prom was over. I'm glad she had fun!

I sent some of the prom pictures I took to my mom, who promptly took them to Walmart for development. They almost didn't give them to her because they thought they were professional pictures, and that she was trying to "pirate" them! I had to talk to the woman at the photo counter on the phone and tell her what kind of camera I used, and that I give MY MAMA permission to print them. Grrr! That's just crazy!

I tried working on the Camaro Saturday, but we found out we had the wrong parts after a few hours, so that was shot in the foot.

Sunday, we had church, then a lunch fund-raiser at church for the local cancer charity, then I spent the afternoon hanging a new under-cabinet microwave at Mama's. That was a job!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Happy Tuesday Brad. Things have changed so much over the many years I have trod this planet. Back in the day (late 60's very early 70's) most high schools only held a senior prom and a few also a junior prom, although they were separate times (growing up in L.A.) So, unless a senior invited a sophomore, they had to wait a year or two.
But am glad she had a good time and was also that close. Other than your unfortunate time with the Camaro, It's nice to hear the rest of the weekend went well...
Have fun this Easter week...

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday!!! It's a beautiful day so far. We have "fire" advisories for this afternoon b/c of the wind. Seems it's forever windy!!! We're supposed to hit 73º again today - I'll take it! :)

We had some excitement at the lake this weekend. :D The trailer next to us is for sale & our friends (who now live in Columbus) decided to buy it!! :D So excited!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Greetings on this fine Tuesday morning Holiday. It was nice to hear that your weekend went so well and that you may have friends by you more often at the lake. I try to get away once or twice a year just to kick back, but like so many others, I find that there is just too much I need/want to do and not enough time to get it all done. Not that I never relax (especially being over 60), but I have a hard time doing it when I know there are things that need to be done. Must be that tiny work-aholic portion inside me...
Have a great Easter week...

This sounds familiar, as it was fifty degrees this morning, but it will only be 32 this evening with a possible coating of Sky Slurpee.
A tuned-in Tuesday to you Yuletide. Weird weather for this time of year all around it seems. We had some rain and sleet mix yesterday, after a beautiful 66 degree Sunday. It's okay though and I thank God for getting my lawn wet so that I can lay down some fertilizer and it will stick nicely...
Have a great Easter week...

We just hit 78° and I am sweating already. Tomorrow is a day of rain and thunderstorms then back into the 50's.
Greetings Gunny. I know the feeling. It is strange having grown up in Southern California, but I suppose all those USAF years in the Northern portions of the US (and the world) acclimated me the other way. Now the T-shirts come out anytime it hits above 40 and I run for cover whenever the temp hits 85 or more. As far as the sweating part... anytime I am working and the temp is above 60, I can expect to soak my shift within the first half hour...
Have a wonderful Easter week...

Hi there DoYouHear. Christmas In July is always fun. It is just a shame that like so many other beautiful times in the year, someone it has to be more commercially marketed that appreciated (this site as an obvious exception). Enjoy your Spring weather and this Easter week...

A Terrific Tuesday to you and your Xmas. We seem to have the subject of time very much in common. Never enough of it! One of the reasons I enjoy winter so much up north is that it does restrict your outdoor chores (except for the occasional shoveling) and for me anyway, leaves me with a little more time on my hands.
In my case this past week, a new computer with a newer system took time (along with regular stuff) away from here as well. But, we still make it and like me I am certain the MMC community is never far away from your heart and mind.
Have an exceptional Easter week...

Hmmmm anyone up for Easter Opera??? The creative juices are flowing or is that the chemicals in my blood stream. Hmmmmmmmmmm. OPERA.
Morning Binger. I have to admit that the only two Operas that I have ever shown an interest in both starred Bugs Bunny... :D
But certainly nothing against those who do enjoy them. Have a fun Easter week...

Morning MMC! It's Tuesday but feels like Wednesday with Friday being off. I didn't realize the kids were off all week. I noticed yesterday driving to work no school buses. Kind of was thinking it seemed like yesterday they were starting in early September and now they are heading towards their home stretch pretty soon towards their summer break. It's going to be warm (almost 80 today!) and feeling early summer-like instead of spring-like. Cooler temps but still nice after today. Have a great Tuesday!

Good Tuesday morning! After bright sunshine yesterday, rain is back. I have to do some grocery shopping and I already started a load of laundry. It's weird because for 3 weeks, I'll only be at the store max 3 days each week. I have first aid training two days this week, then next week I took 2 extra days off and the next, I took an extra day off and I have to attend a new course on loss prevention. I just hope that doesn't mean I'll have to work longer hours to make up for it. Enjoy your day everyone!

Good Morning, People of All Holiday Persuasions in General and Christmas in Particular.

And here in this thread, we are quite particular and precise about the relative proximity to our holiday of choice.
It is reflected in the daily numbers.

Here are today's:
Days to the Season: 216
Days to Christmas Day: 258

And our Milestones. Let us not forget the Milestones and their importance.
Two are pending on back-to-back days later this month.
1) The 200-day Season Window is now just 16 days away. Two weeks from the day after tomorrow!
2) The one-third point to to Christmas Day is now just two weeks from tomorrow!
(It's going to be exciting around here the last week of the month!)

Well, a warm Spring has settled in for the time being. Dry and sunny, too.
As mentioned before, the only drawback is the heavy pine pollen everywhere, but that seem to be moderating now.
An inspection of our thermometer this morning reveals we are at 60 degrees, here.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!
