Christmas Countdown - 2017

We eased into it with a 4 day week and made it so I think that will help us adjust this week.

Good morning and Happy Monday!
It's going to be a pretty busy day for me. My youngest has off and we scheduled a couple of doctor appointments. I don't usually like to schedule more than one appointment in the same day but she has off so she figured we'd cram it all in. So I'll be in and out today, I'm going to take a ride with her to keep her company and pay the co-pays lol. I'll be working on my daily chores in between. Dinner will be escarole and bean soup with tortellini. I'll pick a pizza up to go with it, I know I've mentioned before that the girls think soup isn't "real food" That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!

I've always loved cardinals. I remember doing a book report on it in elementary school. That's how far back my love of this beautiful red bird goes.

So pretty! It's amazing when they come around!

A cold morning ... single digits Fahrenheit. The frost on my side windows was so hard I couldn't get it all off, but I got most of it!

Here's Monday of a five-day workweek. Stick to it and it'll be over before long!

We are still well below freezing however, and just sitting around waiting for it warm up to melt the ice off the roads.

I've always told my mom that soup isn't real food. If you can drink it then it's not food lol. But I like soup sometimes as a side thing...but I've always been more of a meat and bread type of guy.

LOL! I made Cheeseburger soup over the weekend in my new pressure cooker. YUM-O!

They'd love it. He was doing the zoomies in it. But today I think it was too cold for him...he got into a little deeper snow and started to whine. Temps were about 15-20 degrees colder than on Saturday. I grabbed him quick and took him in.

Too cute! Gracie just doesn't care! -2º? Big deal! Crazy dog! She LOVES it!

Soooo, we are busing Mom out of the nursing home tonight to come to our house for supper! 2 of my sisters, BIL, my brother & SIL are coming. Creamy Italian Chicken, Mashed potatoes, Salad & Dessert. Mmm, Mmmm - can't wait!

Like most, back to the first full 5 day work week for 2017. Even though I did work last week, feels in some way like the first real return since I've stretched the holidays out as long as possible (still am, so guess I shouldn't speak in past tense). Plus, all the trouble makers are back in the office today. Onward to the 2017 countdown!!

Yeah as soon as I picked him up and brought him he licked me lol. Guess he's saying thanks for saving me from the cold. I can't imagine poor animals that are left out for long in that weather.

Just placed my order with a lady that makes quilted tree skirts. Glad I did it now..I ordered 3 of them and they wont be done till Sept.1st.

Good afternoon ... Not much going on today besides work. Really to cold to do anything .. so I see tonight sitting and relaxing. Even doing a real easy dinner, grill cheese and soup

Oh well I think I am going to go grab another cup of coffee before my lunch break is over.
