Good Morning MMC !!

lovely morning here, enjoying the peaceful morning.
Going to repair a couple of rust spots, one of which is a hole now on my van. Picked up a patch kit which I was told is easy to use. I am sure the neighbour will be out when I get started, he always comes out as soon as he sees me doing anything with my van. Except when I clean it, then he never shows up LOL !
ok, back to typing, my computer suddenly shut down, it was nice of it to at least keep what I already did .

It's AUGUST! Happy August all!!! Wow.

Just overnight, pumpkins have appeared in the store. It's amazing the difference a day makes. Fall is SO CLOSE. I am thrilled. Hope everyone has a great day!!

so cool ! We were in a dollar store and found a display of halloween stuff !!

Updated my signature--just seemed right as some of my teacher friends reported back to school today! Wahoo!!

school here does not start up again until September 5th

It's funny you're mentioning this as we were just thinking of switching to a harness as well, because when Loki decides to pull, he can pull to the point of getting really out of breath and that's a concern. Have a great day Edge.

That happened to Rollins yesterday! He does breathe heavy sometimes when I take him for a walk...I even tell him slow down. He always seems in a rush. And he started gasping for air almost so I grabbed him and carried him...thing is no matter what he still keeps going fast even if he's out of breath. I was reading this type of breed can have problems with that so I don't want to make it worse by using a leash if that's causing him to choke himself more inadvertently.

A delightful day here weather-wise yesterday to commence the month of August.
Normally, it would be hot and humid but it was pleasantl most of the day.
Today, we are supposed to reach 92 for a high, but with humidity readings still in the 40's, it should feel OK.
We begin things here this morning at 70 degrees.



OK, Folks. First 'Pines open house of August.
This should be the final summer-themed month of open houses before the 'bers arrive, at which point Carl really starts to get excited as the holidays begin to approach.
Hope to see everyone at the inn this evening for more summer fun, Carl style.

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! So far we have a cloudy day - supposed to have rain/storms this afternoon! High of 79º. Right now it feels great out there! Wish I was out there enjoying on my patio w/ a hot cup of java!

Last night I made some chicken & rice (more rice than chicken) for Gracie. She gobbled down a 1/3 cup of it! She gobbled down another 1/2 cup this morning - hopefully that stays down. She seemed a little more spry this morning compared to yesterday morning! I know she's supposed to be on such a strict low protein diet, but she was eating NOTHING! And with all the medicine she is on, it was making her sick after taking meds. I'm anxious to hear what this new vet has to say tomorrow. Need to get my girl healthy again!

I'm so sorry to hear that Gracie isn't feeling well. Praying her appointment goes well. I will keep the both of you in my thoughts.

I stopped at Moms for a bit on my way home last night - all was calm. Mom was teaching Dena to crochet. I think they will get along well! xx Dena brought her own cook book, I'm hoping she will let us browse through it!
Gracie was better last night. We went for a walk, which totally wore her out. But earlier she was barking at the neighbors & running around the house (outside). This morning she was more spry compared to yesterday morning! Fingers crossed! xx

I don't know what's wrong with your fur baby holiday , but I've done a lot of home remedies in the past for my moms poodle
And she's 15 years old and still

The vet Gracie is going too tomorrow is a holistic vet. He does acupuncture & chiropractic. Gracie's kidneys are shutting down! She's only 3 1/2. Hopefully we can find something to get them working right again!! xx

Poor Gracie not feeling well. My in-laws' Basset Hound (pictured below) hasn't eaten in 3 days and threw up as well. The vet thinks it might be gastroenteritis, we'll see if the treatment works.

I sure hope the alternative therapy helps Gracie. I'm sending positive thoughts your way and a hug from Loki and me.

Happy Pines Day MMC! It's a warm and humid summer morning here. I decided to change from a leash to a harness for Rollins. Been reading up on the breed and the way he lunges and pulls I think he's going to wind up hurting himself. What do you guys who own dogs use, leash or harness or switch between the 2? Other than that, just looking forward to everything ahead of us. Hope everyone's August is going ok so far!

We use a harness. Works so much nicer than a collar for walking. When my friend did a muscle test on Gracie, she said her spine is out - makes me wonder if that's not an old injury from walking her with a collar ~ before we switched to the harness?!
We have this one - it's called a "Yuppie Puppy" - from Amazon. $9.95

Good Wednesday morning! It's going to be a real scorcher here. And they say that we should have great weather up until October, but I hope not as humid as it will be today. I have my last physio appointment this morning (insurance coverage is done). I know my tendon is not 100% healed, but at least I can walk longer distances without pain now. I'll keep doing the exercises she prescribed and hopefully it won't flare up again in the future. Other than that, I'll be working the afternoon/evening shift and still trying to catch up after 2 weeks off. Have a wonderful day everyone!

We use a harness on Leo...he is a puller for sure and the harness seems to help with that.

Leo gets like this on hot days from walking and also from playing fetch with the ball. He could go non stop and will not rest and his breathing sounds terrible. I know BTs tend to have breathing issues due to their short snouts.

Even if he isn't choking, he could bruise or injure his neck or windpipe ... I vote for the harness. If he gets REALLY excited, he can't slip out of a harness, but he might slip out of a collar and leash.

Another bright summer day at the office ... oh, well! I do like my job, but I wish today were a vacation day!

Listened to another Christmas CD in the car this morning, and it gave me a couple DJ ideas that I quickly jotted down when I got to my desk. Nothing gets me in the mood for the holidays quicker than Christmas music!

Good Morning, MMC!! It's going to be another hot and muggy day here in central Indy. At least a cool down is coming for the weekend. Even though the temperatures keep inching up every time a new forecast comes out. Nothing much going on here. Just have a few errands to run today. One of the deputy chiefs in our police department was killed in a car wreck and his funeral is this afternoon. So that will shut down a large part of the city. We also had an officer shot and killed on the same day. His funeral is Saturday. So that will shut everything down again. I hope everyone has a great day!!
