A Spirit Halloween store just opened a couple of stores down from us. And we've been getting Halloween costumes for kids for two weeks now at our own store and they are selling as fast as we're getting them. Now I have to start thinking about a costume for myself, it'll be Halloween before we know it.
We have a Spirit Halloween store near us too...they always have a great selections of costumes and accessories.

Have a great Tuesday!

Prayers for Gracie and I hope she has a good appointment.
Thank you SFM!!!

I had never heard of a Sprit Halloween store until reading about it here on MMC!

I need to boot scoot out of here this afternoon so I can get Gracie to the vet by 4:00! I hope you all have a wonderful evening!!!

Morning MMC! I hope you all have a great day! It's a bit humid here in Michigan and cloudy. I noticed on the way to work today that there are two Spirit Halloween stores ready to open up soon. I love all of the bers and the holidays so it's great to see. I must say though, I feel like in recent years Halloween is the holiday that is doing the early creep and not Christmas as it's so traditionally vilified to be.
There's a Party City near us, and they have signs up saying they have Halloween costumes, and the nearby Jo-Ann has Reese's pumpkins. You're right, Halloween is developing a "creep"! :)

The total eclipse was a sight to behold! We had no trouble getting home. DD & I went outside every 15 minutes to see the changes. Yesterday was the only time I've seen all of our neighbors outside at the same time. You could hear the "Ooohs & Aaaahs" across the neighborhood. We also heard the fireworks at the park when the total eclipse came. DD & I were too scared to take our glasses off during the total eclipse---DH was calling us from work every few minutes to be sure we were paying attention! He was frustrated with us that we wouldn't take our glasses off, but we didn't want to take any chances with our eyesight! He got some good pictures of the eclipse & video of the crazy traffic in front of his office. Moving on, is it Labor Day yet? I'm ready to go on our annual Labor Day weekend camping adventure.

Good evening all!

It has been a few days since I have been around. Today was he first day of school. Busy day, but all went well. I am looking forward to tomorrow and actually getting to teach instead of going over syllabi and class rules and all such.

One of the great things about school starting is that means Fall is basically here. I am ready for cooler temperatures and pumpkin flavored everything. Actually I had a pumpkin donut the other day from Tim Horton's.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Tuesday is nearly over!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day. It was a "get back at it" day for me. I went out for a run this morning, did some chores, then went to the gym. Kim and I had to do a bit of running around after dinner, too. Now, we're home and enjoying the cool August breeze. Temperatures say that they're around 80F with humidex, but the breeze feels much cooler (at least it does inside the apartment!).

I would be remissed if I failed to mention the storms we had today. Wow! This morning, we had quite the lightning and thunder from 9-10am. Then, another storm hit at 1-2pm. Finally, another boomer hit at 4-5pm. The rain came down super hard and the winds took down some trees within the city! There was also a tornado watch for much of the day, something that never really happens in Ottawa. Thankfully, there wasn't a tornado, but it was a crazy day for weather!

I popped into Costco today to purchase a few things. Disappointingly, there was no signs of Christmas. In previous years, I have found Christmas items at Costco as early as mid-August. Last year, specifically, I have photos of Christmas decorations from August 21st! This year, not a thing. Obviously, I would love to see some early signs of Christmas budding, but I'm OK with nothing just yet. Still, I will keep my eyes open. Oh, the Season is so quickly approaching!

Have a great Tuesday night everyone!

Happy Pines Day! Today we're expecting a high in the low 80s with a mix of clouds & sun. Not as hot today as it was yesterday as it was a scorcher...a rare one this summer. Now temps are going back down to feel more like September the rest of the week. My front bumper part fell out (don't know the technical name for the piece) and my mechanic friend found it online for $13. If I went to the dealer they'd probably charge me $80-100 for the same piece. No wonder I don't like going to dealers. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning, Super Serious Season Supporters!
(We also support our Milestone markers. And the next one is nearly here!)

Days to the Season: 82
Days to Christmas Day: 124

And the marker that is about to arrive is none other than the TWO-THIRDS point to Christmas Day, and it now stands just TWO days into the future.
(That's THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, Guys!)

We are looking forward to tomorrow, when we will finally break this steady drumbeat of 90 + degree highs.
While the mid-80's is not great, it will come as a welcome improvement, however brief.
Today has commenced here in the capital city at 75 degrees.

Have a Woderful Wednesday, Folks!
I hope to see everyone at the 'Pines this evening as Carl's summertime entertainment themes begin to wind down at the approach of the the 'bers!
(We are getting toward the time of year when our friendly activities director begins to get frisky!)

Good Wednesday morning! We had a couple of major thunderstorms yesterday and one area got a category 1 tornado. We've seen more tornadoes this Summer than before in our province. Today we can feel a definite cool down, it's a nice break from the high humidity. I'm in Montréal today for a roundtable on being a scheduling expert for my district. I already answer stores' questions on the program we use so it was easy for my district manager to nominate me for the job. I just hope the day ends early so I can beat killer traffic going back home. Wishing everyone a great day!
