Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Festive Spirit]

Good morning to the MMC community. So many times on a Monday morning, we hear (or think to ourselves)... "Where did the weekend go?". For me, it would have to be, where did the last week and a half go? All I can come up with is very quickly and what a blur! Of course I am grateful to God that He has given me the energy to get things that come up out of now where accomplished, but it sure seems to take it's toll more than I can remember (when I can remember... lol).
Anyway, another week has dawned. I took an extra day off (today) for my wife's birthday. She had specific plans for the day, but things may be changing a bit. I also need to get to the Zoo this AM and pick up the Zoo Boo posters for delivery around town. I have most of the Halloween outdoor decor up and ready, but I always leave an item or two for the actual day, just a add a bit of spice when the "Treaters" arrive at my door.
The main inflatable for the Reindeer Corral has arrived and the area placed off. With the long range temperatures looking good, I may be able to hold off doing any of the stakes until the Friday after Thanksgiving.
South Dakota has started a renew your license online, so that is taken care of. Gives me one less thing to do on my birthday next year. Not much else going on, but I think I need a healthy dose of Taco Tuesday today. Have a great day and week everyone...

Morning!
I hope you are all well. I only manage to catch the odd post as I dash in and out. Nico is on a different treatment so we hope to get some results now. I heard Whiskey sneezing this morning so I am keeping an eye in case he needs to be treated again. They are both in very good spirits though.

Thank you for the well wishes. I will admit I have so much to do I just have to get on with it. It is not that bad so thankfully I can and hopefully it doesn't get worse like others.

It's my youngest's birthday on Saturday. he will be 6! I can remember holding him as a new baby while visiting the forums here on MMC. Makes me realise how long I have known you guys

Greetings Festive. I pray that your feline family members are recovering quickly. Have fun with your son's birthday this weekend. I can certainly relate to the "In & Out" dashing here at MMC. It seems to me that I had a lot more time for reading/posting last year than this year. Although I guess that is a part of the ever expanding world of life. Have a fun filled week...

Hi !!!
I have not heard of that one so I will have to check it out. Around this time of year I enjoy listening to a lot of Jazz and blues. Works well with the autumn atmosphere and gives me that pre christmas feeling too I also like building up to the season with classical music like Tchaikovsky (The Nutcracker). However I love music so I am open to anything really!!! These days I am also enjoy a spooky playlist for the Halloween season

Smashing; good vibes! I think there's definitely a "thing" with the pre-christmas season... not quite Christmas jingles and bells and hall-decking with holly boughs, but still a definite "zone" in which to revel. Like yourself, classical music also makes it way onto my playlist.

For your spooky list - what stuff you have on there? - heard of Nox Arcana? There are spooky things to be had there, halloween themed things, but also, and this is superb, the 3-part "Winter" series. Namely:

Winter's Knight
Winter's Eve
Winter's Majesty

They'll really get you in the Chrimbo mood. Those 3 are probably the ones I hit first just before Roy Walker, Noddy Holder, etc..

Open to any suggestions you have - love new muzak.

Morning MMC! Today we have mostly sunny skies forecast with a high of 80. Another late summer day in Autumn. It beats the dreary weather we had the last 2 days. It was pretty miserable out. Other than that just going to work, take Rollins to the park and relax this evening. Next week I'm off Monday so i'm already starting to think about it. 3 weeks till Halloween!

It's going to be sunny and warm today with highs near 80 degrees. I would love some Fall-like weather! Not too much going on here today My youngest is off today so we plan on going out for lunch and doing some shopping this afternoon. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. I also need to pick up mushrooms while we're out, dinner will be chicken Marsala with pasta. That's about it for me. Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

going to be sewing aprons this morning and then off to work from noon til 4pm this afternoon.
The fall colors are becoming quite nice now around here even if the temps are saying it is still summer.
I will try to get some pictures soon to share.
LittleCS is moving at months end so have to spend time there helping with the packing. She has back problems and going up stairs to her apartment was getting to hard so she is going to a building that has an elevator.

Days to Christmas Day: 76

We note right off the bat that we are closing in on the ONE MONTH mark to the start of Christmas Season 2017.
In fact, that point is now just THREE days away.
(Wow. Almost down to the final month. Just think about that, now!)


Whew! We took a distinct warm turn yesterday, reaching close to 90, and the humidity was sky high.
(Felt like Mother Nature had decided to take us back to late June, if not July.)
These conditions are predicted to continue for today, then commence to moderate for the balance of the week.
Rain is a distinct possiblily too, through Thursday.
We are at 77 humid, overcast degrees here right now.

Good Morning everyone! Still crazy weather, very foggy here this morning. My husband and I want to go driving around Friday looking at the beautiful fall leaves and going to pumpkin patches and apple orchards but who wants to do that in 80 degree weather? It should be much cooler. I want the crisp cool air of Autumn!!

Good foggy morning MMC! We had fog move in later this morning - I'm sure the bus drivers didn't have much fun driving/picking up the kids! The sun is starting to show it's pretty little face now & we're supposed to have a high of 77 with a slight chance of rain possible around noon.

Just work for me today. We're planning to go visit our friends tonight - the ones who's son committed suicide yesterday. That's won't be easy!

Tomorrow is Miss Emma's pre-wedding party for her "English" friends! Looking forward to that. It should be fun. She gets married Thursday. So happy for her!

Oh no, I'm so sorry Holiday. Sending up prayers {{{hugs}}}

That is such sad news. I cannot imagine how distressed someone must be to commit suicide, such pain. Very sorry for your friends' loss Holiday.

My heart is broken for your friends, Holiday. Depression is a terrible disease. I hope we all can continue to feel more and more comfortable talking about it so that everyone learns that suicide is not the answer. As a teacher, I always have to make sure that students are healthy and comfortable. Best to your friends during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to read this Holiday. How very sad.

Good Tuesday morning! A day off for me, then two days work and then I start a 10-day staycation. Just went for a long walk with Loki, it's already warming up quite a bit, but temperatures will drop tomorrow. I'll be working on invites for our work Christmas party today.
