The exterior illumination is done! Now I just have to wait for permission from the boss to have them on every night!

As I drove into the neighborhood from work, last evening, five houses were Christmas lit. Though we traditionally turn our lights on for the first time of the season Thanksgiving night, we just HAD TO make it a half dozen homes.

And just like that, a quarter of the lights on the big tree go out. Ugh!!!

I think I'm going to take my nieces out to the Indianapolis motor speedway tonight though. They have a 2 mile, 200 display, 2.5 million light show that just started on Sunday night. So I'm thinking go early before it gets busy.

Greetings. For the day itself, not a whole lot. I do not take many days for myself during the year (five to be exact), but this is one of them. Everything will be more or less ready to go by Wednesday night, so that Thanksgiving Day will be spent with the parade, the NFL and of course a ton of food.
The day after (and the weekend) will be spent in the wide world of decorating. How about you?
And if I am not mistaken, this will be showing here in the US on Wednesday evening...

I am German, in Germany....so we don´t celebrate Thanks Giving....unfortunately I must say....Thanks Giving is a Holiday I want to celebrate in the States with my family....just as Christmas and Thanks Giving

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday! And a Merry Tuesday it is - I only have to set the alarm for work ONE MORE DAY this week! Whoop!

Just work for me today. I might make the cornucopia tonight for Thursday, that way tomorrow night I'll only have the potatoes to make. I would like to wait until Thanksgiving morning to do the taters but with having lunch at the in-laws it will be a busy enough morning. I told my MIL I would bring the turkey shaped meat & cheese tray again but I don't know what else to bring? She told me to make whatever I felt like making. Hmmm!

Everyone, have a great day! I can't believe Thanksgiving is in TWO days!! How did that happen??

Here's a picture of Lucy from last night, admiring HER tree... (just had to share - lol)

she´s so adorable....I´m in love

Thanks! I guess that one thing I'm "Thankful" for is my health after what's turned into quite a bit of a roller coaster month health-wise for me.
No kidding! Hopefully you are on the right track now!! Nothing but good things to come! :)

Goodness, it's so festive in the office today! They're getting our Thanksgiving potluck ready for 12:30, and in the meantime, a co-worker whose son took orders for fresh wreaths a couple weeks back is delivering the wreaths around the office ... so the smells of good food are mingling with the scent of evergreens! This isn't making it easier to staying focused on the job!
It sounds like festive fun, but I do understand it makes it hard to work. We have nothing out of the ordinary going on here except for anticipation of the holidays & I'm finding it hard to concentrate. :D ENJOY!!

Love it!! :D

Hope you get the light situation fixed quick & easy!! That's frustrating!
How fun to go to IMS! Take pictures!!
Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving Eve, Eve!! :D

Awe - thanks! She is a love! (when she's not BITING!!) She's lost 3 teeth & 1 adult tooth is in already - hopefully the biting stops soon!! She's just playing but it hurts sometimes! Little booger!!

Well, everyone is stuffed now, and they're trying to get people to take leftover plates home! Just like Thanksgiving at home ... :D

Yep ... and tomorrow's a workday, but hopefully a short one.
Fingers crossed for your short work day tomorrow! xx
In the back of my brain I'm hoping I can leave at noon tomorrow like I do on Fridays, but I bet it won't happen. It's going to be even harder to work tomorrow!

Love hearing your Thanksgiving spirit/experience today Merry. I'm feeling it here too. Coworker just said "the week is over." I told him I think it was over when we walked in on Monday. Everyone waits for this week all year.
Thanks, I'm glad you feel like you're "in the picture"!
We're supposed to close at noon tomorrow, but of course that depends on no clients coming up with rush revisions or other crises ... the department I'm in is often last to leave. If I get home by 2 or 3, I'll count it as a good day!

Thanks! Wish you would get out at noon ... It's the longest short workday of all, isn't it??
