Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
We have a pretty dreary day here with pouring rain but it is supposed to clear up early afternoon.
I did all my shopping last night at the grocery store so we should be good to go.
Just work for me today but should be done early.
I hope you all have a great day!
Enjoy your day! This all sounds so exciting!

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Wow, so excited about tomorrow! Lots to do today. But first my daughter has to have her wisdom teeth removed, the poor thing. Back home afterward to dote on my daughter and prepare for tomorrow as well. I’ll pop back in when I can.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Prayers going up for your daughter for a speedy recovery!

Love your little village! Especially the cobblestone streets and vintage autos!

I'm giddy again today. Along my commute to and from work, there's a large house with a gated driveway with a large tree on either side of the gate. That house always has beautiful Christmas lights in those trees. As I went past this morning, men were up on ladders fiddling with the trees ... they must be putting the lights up! And in a steady rain, too, Lord bless 'em. If I'm lucky, it won't be dark enough for them to be on on my way home, but I'm already thinking about how beautiful it'll be to see them next week!

Wow! Thank you for sharing e_xander, this looks so beautiful. I remember my parents would have a small village under the tree, with cardboard houses that you would string lights through and a blanket of fake snow. Your pictures bring back a lot of memories.
My grandparents had little houses like that, very simple but charming, bordered by a bright red little fence that looked like it could have been made from popsicle sticks. I think I've read that it's a German tradition, and that would fit as that side of the family came over from Germany in the 1700s. I love the thought that the tradition carried through so many generations. If I had the space, I'd put a cardboard village under my tree ...

Happy Thanksgiving Eve MMC! Amazing today is the day before Thanksgiving isn't it? Well I am bringing in some breakfast to work as I have done the last few years on this day and we'll leave at noon as we do also every year. It's more of a hang out atmosphere today than a work one but maybe that's why I love this day. And of course by later today and this evening the excitement will just build for what tomorrow brings. Have a great Thanksgiving Eve Everyone!
Enjoy your short day and the build-up to Thanksgiving!

Wish we'd have a hang-out atmosphere here today ... I'm sure there'll be real work, though. But if I'm lucky, I won't have to stay too long after the office closes at noon.

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 10 **

Good Morning, Folks.
Can we really be all the way to Season day ten?
Seems like such a short time ago we were all counting down the final minutes to the start of the Season.

Regardless, we but turn another page:
Days to Thanksgiving: 1 (TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 33 (Just three days over ONE MONTH left!)

(Wow!)

As predicted, we did reach the low 60's yesterday.
A repeat will be experienced today before it gets chilly again for Turkey Day.
Our present temperature is 53 degrees here in our part of MMC.

OK, now!
Tonight will be the FINAL Shispering Pines open house before Thanksgiving.
And as in years past, Carl and crew have magically transformed our favorite holiday inn from Christmas decor to Thanksgiving for this special night. Lots of orange and brown/earth tones. Pumkins everywhere. Horns of plenty on every table. (Guess what they are stuffed with!). Pilgrim figures (Carl is dressed as one, too).
Be sure to come and bring your appetite. (I may fast all day just so I can feast tonight on the 'Pines sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner with less guilt!)

I hope to see each and every one of you there and in the meantime, you have the most Wonderful Wednesday of your lives, Friends!
It'll be a busy evening for me, but I can't miss this! I'll make time to drop by.

Good morning MMC!! Merry Thanksgiving Eve! That's just crazy that tomorrow is Thanksgiving!!!!
Last night I made my cornucopia. I used French bread dough since I can't find bread stick dough anymore - it must bake faster b/c my cornucopia got quite brown! It will be ok, but it's just darker than I would have liked. Ah well!! They will still eat the meat/cheese/grapes that get stuffed inside it! ;)
Everyone have a wonderful day before Thanksgiving!!!

You're welcome!

Cranberry ketchup is tasty ~ tangy and spicy both. Wish I could take credit for the recipe, but I found it in a vintage Farm Journal cookbook. Coincidentally, the book was found at the thrift store I mentioned. Great place to go for books!

Have a merry evening!
Sounds like a great recipe!!! Hope you had fun at the store!!! Merry Thanksgiving Eve!!

Hello everyone. Wow things have been busy, but some fun thrown in too.

I have the rest of the week off to catch up and enjoy family time. I hope everyone is doing well.

We are not hosting the family Thanksgiving this year, so I have less to do the next couple of days. Just make pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread.
Friday or Saturday we will go out and cut down out Christmas tree! I love getting our real tree!
-tree-
Nice to see you! Have a Merry Thanksgiving week/weekend!

I've never made peanut brittle. Is sunshine an ingredient? o_O
Have a peaceful night...

It's a very important ingredient! If you don't want tacky peanut brittle you need sunshine & a barometric pressure above 30! :D
Have a great day CGY!

Good morning. Yes, my friends, today is a serious coffee IV day. Hook me up and give me a pot; high test!! It's a rainy, blahhh, cold, dreary morning here, so the jump start is necessary and needed today.

Oh yes, thank the Lord, that today is Wednesday. I am so looking forward to the next 4 days off, to just sort of relax a bit, sort of take things in some and just get some things done that I have been wanting to get done since I moved up here to Connecticut.

We are staying in Connecticut this year for Thanksgiving and celebrating it with my wife's family.

Last night, we introduced the two kitties to each other for the first time. I was surprised, there was no hissing, no growling, no hunching of the backs or anything. They sniffed a lot, sniffed each other, touched noses a few times, and started to follow each other around the place for a bit. We did this for about 30 minutes and then we separated them again.

For the last four days, we had one in a room all to herself and the other one, the first one I adopted, having the run of the rest of the place, like usual. They knew each other was there because there is an 1 - 1/1/4 gap under the door, so they could smell each other, hear each other and they were putting their paws under the door, trying to touch each other.

We really want this to go well, so we are trying to do the introducing thing slowly, and for a little bit at a time at first; being together. Shiloh is almost a year and Ariel is 3 months old.

We named Shiloh after a city referred to in the bible; as a city of peace and refuge.
And we named Ariel after one of the 7 Archangels (The patron saint of animals and the environment) her name means, "lioness of God.

I will try to post pictures of them later.

I did. Very tragic. I think it should be a safe and fun trip. Hopefully I find some nice Christmas sights, too!
You will have a great time! ENJOY!!!

Good Wednesday morning! I am in Canada but I can still feel the excitement over Thanksgiving, which is TOMORROW! It is crazy how fast this end of year is going. Well I was up at 4:30am (after falling asleep at 7:45pm grrrrr) to make pamphlets to be printed for a shop early event we'll have at our store. And to also make thank you notes for all our employees coming to our work Christmas party this Sunday. Still lots to do...Hope everyone enjoys a great day!
Have a great day Martine!
