Good morning MMC! Happy Inauguration Day! Whether you're happy about it or not - it's here!! Can't wait for it to be over! Tired of hearing about it. Speaking of - I've already wasted too much time talking about it on our CHRISTMAS forum today! ;)

Mom was admitted to the hospital a little after 8:00 last night. Yep....she arrived at 1:00pm & was in the ER until after 8pm! What a joke! Anyway - she had a good night. I'm feeling like she was just dehydrated & not eating much at all - time to get her home to some good 'ol Emma cooking. But since she didn't get admitted until late last night I'm sure she will have to spend the night again tonight! Grrr! Just praying she doesn't have anymore "black out" episodes! xx I'm planning on heading out of work around 10:30 this morning to go to the hospital & watch the inauguration with her. We have lost my brother, SIL & another sister as visitors today b/c they all have the flu! UGH! Thank you nursing home! :( 2 of my sisters had it Wednesday....fingers crossed I don't get it!!!!! xx

Everyone, have a Happy FRIDAY!!!! :jump

I love that card!

I sure hope things improve for all of you soon. You've had way too much trouble recently. I admire your positive attitude through all this.

Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers!!!

This morning my sister was at Moms house looking for her spirometer to bring to the hospital (since mom is now coughing...) There is a sun catcher with my Dad's picture engraved in it that says "I will always watch over you" - while my sister was there, it fell off the window!!! It has been hanging there a long time. Just a little eerie, but cool!
I think he wanted to draw your attention to that message! It's a good sign. Things are going to turn around for you.

Happy Friday all, and Happy Inauguration Day to all in the USA. It's great to see another peaceful transition of power, especially considering how hotly contested the election was. No matter who you voted for, you can be proud and grateful to live in a country where a new leader comes to power without revolution and bloodshed, and with the help of the citizens. I know our government isn't perfect, but I think we have one of the better systems. I understand some people boycotted the inauguration, but looking at the crowd in front of the white house I think on the whole people are at least interested in what will happen with our next president. And hey, this is America so the boycotters are more than welcome to use their right of free speech and boycott to their hearts' content. This too is Democracy.
Well said, MerryBells. Whether we're in favor of the new pres or not, this is the U.S.A., and we're at least free to hold and express our opinions.

Me too!
Is it just me, or have I been seeing more cardinals in Christmas cards and images this season? A couple years ago, a former co-worker of mine said when she saw a redbird, she knew her grandmother was watching out for her, and said that redbirds were a good sign that we are being watched over. I thought about that a lot, as I was going through a rough patch at the time. One day I was feeling particularly low, and as I drove through a parking lot, I had to stop for a huge truck. Across its side it said CARDINAL. I had to laugh out loud ... I couldn't ignore that message! As a result, maybe I'm just more alert to cardinals now. I got some little cardinal ornaments to put on my tree this year.

Still holding those of you dealing with sickness and other difficulties in my thoughts and prayers.

I've joined the ranks of those who have been ill lately. I'm home sick today. Pretty miserable right now, but from past experience, it should pass in a day or two. I felt awful about staying home from work today, as there's something important due mid-afternoon, and I hated to leave it in the hands of a temp, but there was no way I could put in a day's work today.

Feel better Merry! Between MMC and in person I know so many people who have been sick this month...but as I've said better in January if it's going to happen than in December. Feel better and have a good weekend.

CAH is out of surgery and everything went well. Everything was exactly as they thought, so while she still has a long couple months ahead of her, she should make a complete recovery.
Thanks for the update!

Good Friday morning! And finally I will have a whole weekend off, first time since Christmas that I will have 2 days off in a row. Lots to do at work though, training new hires tonight, so I'll be going into work a bit early today. Have a fantastic day everyone!
Have a great weekend, Martine!

Prayers for your Mom, that poor woman cannot catch a break and I hope you don't get the flu.

Merry Friday, friends!! I picked my oldest daughter up after her last mid-term and took her and her friend out for pizza. It was nice to sit and relax. My youngest has a roller skating b-day party tomorrow and then we are going to my SIL's house for my BIL's birthday. She is making a prime rib and stuffed shrimp. Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!

Thank you ... feeling a little better, but I need to get my strength back. I'm just a dishrag right now.
And yes, better January than December. Gotta wonder if all the December activity sort of sets us up to crash healthwise in January.

Evening everyone,

Thank you so much for all the kindness, encouragement and support. Every one of your words has given me strength and I truly mean that. No one in my world knows what's happening so I appreciate having you all here to turn to.

I am back at hospital in the morning for a second round of tests which they will want to compare with the first to see if and how things are progressing with the pregnancy. It may mean waiting till next week to know more. Trying to rest and deal with the physical symptoms but have to admit those are over shadowed by my emotional pain. I 'm trying my best to act like things are okay in front of the kids but this is also difficult because I keep breaking down.

Thank you again for the prayers and support. You all are in my thoughts and prayers too.

Posting for the 1st time from our new iPad! How fun!!!! :)

Unfortunately mom was taken by squad today to the hospital. She had a spell where she kind of blacked out for a few seconds and then she threw up. Once she got to the ER they hooked her up to IV, she soaked up a lot of fluid and she's doing much better. Hopefully if they have to keep her it will only be for a 24 hour period. I think we are all in agreement after that she will be coming home sweet home! Too many bad experiences at the NH!

Hope your afternoon is going well!!!!
Oh my goodness Holiday your mum is having such a tough spell! She truly inspires me with her strength. Praying for her.

Holding your hand from across the ocean. Think strong thoughts.

I am also anemic...I was diagnosed a few months ago. I have been taking Slow Fe, an iron supplement and it has helped me so much. Good Luck! Have fun at the game tonight, HMG!
Continued prayers for your daughter..

Thank you SFM ~
I'm glad the Slow Fe is working for you. I have heard of it, I will definitely bring it up to my doctor. We're just waiting for additional blood work to come back. Hope you have a nice night!
xx
