Good Morning, Folks!

Really closing in now on a truly major Milestone.....and I won't be here to see it!!

Today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 185
Days to Christmas Day: 227

The major Milestone in question?
Well, it doesn't get much more major than the HALF WAY point to the Season, does it? And that incredible point is now only THREE days off. That's less than HALF A WEEK away now, Guys!
Alas, yours truly will be in Florida on vacation that auspicious day. But not to fear. Our own NcGunny will see us safely into the second half of our count!


The weather? Much warmer. Rain? Yep. A short downpour yesterday evening, accompanied by the usual severe weather warning. But fortunately, also as usual, we had no problems.
Currently, we stand at 58 degrees here in the capital city and it's shaping up to be a cool, wet day.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday!!! So far it's a chilly, dreary day! High of 62º predicted.

Wedding weekend is here! We'll be heading to Indiana this afternoon for the rehearsal dinner. Back to the lake tonight & then back to Indiana for the wedding tomorrow! Whew! Gracie will be hanging with her peeps at the lake while we're gone! Other than that, not much going on!

It's going to be a cloudy day with temperatures in the upper 50's. We're expecting lots of rain tomorrow so I think I'll get my food shopping over with today. My daughter and I have an appointment later this afternoon with the caterer to go over the details of her engagement party. It's just a couple of weeks away now.

Merry Friday!! Still trying to plan for Mother's Day...still not 100% sure. It is also my youngest daughter's birthday, she will be 11. My oldest was born on Christmas and the other one Mother's Day! My kids like to pick holidays, I guess! Hope you all have a great day!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

We had supper at mama's last night, then on the way home I got pulled over by the police for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Grrr. Luckily, we current and former politicians have a secret handshake to get us out of trouble like that.

Just kidding. But he did laugh at me and tell me to stop next time. Sometimes small town life is good!

I hope we're going to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 this weekend.

Hello all!!! Happy Friday. I haven't been as active posting, but I have been keeping up with everyone. I just had a couple things about today that I wanted to share with everyone.

First, 72 years ago today, my father was born. He was born in FL and screamed all the way home to Watertown, SD, as my grandmother told the story. He was a very gifted musician. He loved playing the bass guitar but did wonders on his Fender Strat and his acoustic guitar. I have a ton of fond memories of him playing for the family when we got together every summer in Watertown. He would also play solo at the resort my cousin used to own. I sang with him and my sister a couple times, but I'm not very confident with my singing capabilities, so I didn't do it often. He could hold a note for almost 3/4 of a minute. I could go one for quite a while, but I won't. Sadly, just over 45 years after his birth, he was taken from us way too soon. Pancreatic cancer was the culprit. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him and there's been too numerous times to count that I have wanted to be to talk to him and get his advice. It's hard to believe that it will be 27 years in August that he left this earth.

Second, and a much brighter thing, I interviewed last week for a different position at the University here that I work at as a custodian. The position I interviewed for is a Facilities Repair Worker. This position would expand my experience and give me a change to use my hands more to repair things. Plus it is at least a $2.33 raise in what I'm getting paid now. I received a call today from the hiring supervisor offering me the job, which I gladly took. I love what I'm doing now with Custodial Services and the people I work with, but I cannot pass up the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experiences. Not to mention the pay.

So with those two things, my emotions covered both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.
