Hello all!!! Happy Friday. I haven't been as active posting, but I have been keeping up with everyone. I just had a couple things about today that I wanted to share with everyone.

First, 72 years ago today, my father was born. He was born in FL and screamed all the way home to Watertown, SD, as my grandmother told the story. He was a very gifted musician. He loved playing the bass guitar but did wonders on his Fender Strat and his acoustic guitar. I have a ton of fond memories of him playing for the family when we got together every summer in Watertown. He would also play solo at the resort my cousin used to own. I sang with him and my sister a couple times, but I'm not very confident with my singing capabilities, so I didn't do it often. He could hold a note for almost 3/4 of a minute. I could go one for quite a while, but I won't. Sadly, just over 45 years after his birth, he was taken from us way too soon. Pancreatic cancer was the culprit. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him and there's been too numerous times to count that I have wanted to be to talk to him and get his advice. It's hard to believe that it will be 27 years in August that he left this earth.

Second, and a much brighter thing, I interviewed last week for a different position at the University here that I work at as a custodian. The position I interviewed for is a Facilities Repair Worker. This position would expand my experience and give me a change to use my hands more to repair things. Plus it is at least a $2.33 raise in what I'm getting paid now. I received a call today from the hiring supervisor offering me the job, which I gladly took. I love what I'm doing now with Custodial Services and the people I work with, but I cannot pass up the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experiences. Not to mention the pay.

So with those two things, my emotions covered both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.

Have a great weekend everyone and prayers to all who want/need them.

Sending up Happy Birthday wishes to heaven for your father. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending hugs your way.
Congratulations on the new position and raise, that is wonderful news!
I hope you have a great weekend as well!

Congratulations on the new position! Always good to find new things to challenge us.

Good Saturday morning! Some sunshine this morning before rain moves in this afternoon for the rest of the weekend. I have off both days, then I have a 4-day work week and then I'll be on vacation. We're going clothes shopping today, hubby needs jeans and I want to see what's in the stores. Hope everyone will enjoy a wonderful day!

Good morning ~
It's going to be a rainy & windy day with temperatures in the lower 50's. Not too much going on here, I'll just be working on some chores around the house. I may venture out to run a couple of errands if it's not too bad out there. I hope everyone is well and has a nice weekend.
xx

Morning MMC! It's a rainy, windy and chilly day. But this is the end of this weather apparently. It's Saturday so that means I have some errands to do and to get my mom a Mother's Day gift. Also, might try to take Rollins out a bit if the rain lets up a little. Not sure if it will though. And last but not least hope everyone is having a nice Saturday!

Good Morning, Friends!

So close.
So very close.
(To the HALF WAY point to Christmas Season 2017!)

Days to the Season: 184
Days to Christmas Day: 226

Yes, the day after tomorrow, fellow travelers. We will arrive.
Fifty percent done. Fifty percent to go.

(And the honor of safely seeing us "over the hump" falls to our one and only NcGunny, as I will be in Florida!)

Our weather continues damp, as our periodic rains do not allow for much drying.
Coolish yesterday as well, and a light jacket was required all day.
Now, today should see us top out near 70, with the 80's and beyond coming up starting tomorrow, when we leave early in the morning for the sunshine state.
(From that point forward, I will be concerned with the weather in east central Florida!)
Currently, we are starting off at a rather chilly for mid May 55 degrees, here.

Have a Sensational Saturday and a Wildly Wondrous Week to come, Folks!
And I will see you here bright and early on Sunday morning, May 21.

Good morning, Christmas friends!

Two more day until we head downhill? Amazing. We are finally getting out of dreary winter, seeing some sunlight, and headed back towards the Christmas season. What better way to kick that off than school closing for summer? Two more weeks and no kids for two months. I can hardly wait. If would by lying if I said it has been a smooth year....probably been the worst 9 weeks in my nine years as being principal. As soon as school is out...I'm taking a few days off.

With little ones, there are a lot of birthdays. We have TWO of them today. So, I will drink coffee and then get up and start getting kids in the tub and bathed. When we come home, cooking and playing outside. Perfect day....if I can just get these allergies to quit acting up!

Y'all have a great Saturday!

I drive by a few schools on my way to work every day so I see all the kids walking, school buses, and crossing guards stopping us to let the kids cross. It's really nice in July and August for 2 months to be able to get to work without stopping but it also makes me miss seeing them and I think to myself those 2 months how when I see them again...it's all beginning again for us at MMC.

There are two or three schools plus a university with a train stop on my route to work ... it's kinda nice to see the traffic let up during school vacation! When school is in session again, the traffic gets VERY slow for a time; then everyone gets back in the routine, and it starts flowing a little better. But I miss the summer traffic flow when school starts again!

I haven't had much to say lately, as I'm struggling with some medical issues that are pretty much taking over my world at the moment. Those will hopefully be resolved by early fall. But I still check in every day to see what you're all up to, and hoping to be in good enough shape to tackle the Christmas season as it approaches! Thinking of you all every day, even though I don't have much to share just now.

Hope you feel better Merry. We miss your posts so say Hi whenever you feel like it.
