I haven't had much to say lately, as I'm struggling with some medical issues that are pretty much taking over my world at the moment. Those will hopefully be resolved by early fall. But I still check in every day to see what you're all up to, and hoping to be in good enough shape to tackle the Christmas season as it approaches! Thinking of you all every day, even though I don't have much to share just now.

Sorry to read your health hasn't been good. I wish you a speedy recovery and best wishes.

Good Mid-May Monday Morning MMC! That's a lot of M's. We had a good Mother's Day. And I hope all the MMC Moms did too. Now on to another work week. Only 2 weeks till Memorial Day. From Memorial Day to Labor Day I'm going to actually have 9 out of 15 weeks being 3 day weekends. I pretty much might forget how to work 5 day weeks till we reach September much. It looks like today we'll see temps in the 60s with some partly sunny skies before the real warm and even hot weather comes. Have a great 1st day to your week!

Good morning MMC!

Today marks our long awaited MILESTONE DAY!!
We have officially reached our halfway point back to the Christmas season. The time we all recognize as being "Game on" for all things Christmas to be displayed and enjoyed. This year seems to be flying by and lets take a look at our numbers that will lead us to our next milestone.

Days to the season: 182
Days to Christmas: 224
Our next milestone will arrive on the 200 day to Christmas mark, which is exactly 23 days as of tomorrow!!!
Enjoy your day MMC!!

Thanks Gunny! It's all DOWN hill from here!

Good Monday morning, and Happy Half-way To The Season, Christmas friends!

We did a lot of stuff for Mother's Day yesterday. We went to church, then we took my mom to Savannah for lunch and shopping. When we got home, we went to Nancy's mom's for supper. I hope Nancy enjoyed her day, too!

We didn't get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy movie this weekend, but I think we're going tomorrow night. The local theater offer 1/2 price tickets and concessions on Tuesday. ;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning MMC! "Merry" Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend!

The wedding was gorgeous & lots of fun! I think everyone had a great time. Late night! I was SO TIRED last night!! The food was delicious! The dessert table was a hit & we had plenty - well everything was gone except the cookies & cupcakes - and there were plenty of them leftover, but not a ton! It was a good day/night! Those overnighters are always fun! Back to the grind today - haystack meal by Emma tonight! :D

Everyone, have as good of a Monday as possible! :)

Hello all!!! Happy Friday. I haven't been as active posting, but I have been keeping up with everyone. I just had a couple things about today that I wanted to share with everyone.

First, 72 years ago today, my father was born. He was born in FL and screamed all the way home to Watertown, SD, as my grandmother told the story. He was a very gifted musician. He loved playing the bass guitar but did wonders on his Fender Strat and his acoustic guitar. I have a ton of fond memories of him playing for the family when we got together every summer in Watertown. He would also play solo at the resort my cousin used to own. I sang with him and my sister a couple times, but I'm not very confident with my singing capabilities, so I didn't do it often. He could hold a note for almost 3/4 of a minute. I could go one for quite a while, but I won't. Sadly, just over 45 years after his birth, he was taken from us way too soon. Pancreatic cancer was the culprit. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him and there's been too numerous times to count that I have wanted to be to talk to him and get his advice. It's hard to believe that it will be 27 years in August that he left this earth.

Second, and a much brighter thing, I interviewed last week for a different position at the University here that I work at as a custodian. The position I interviewed for is a Facilities Repair Worker. This position would expand my experience and give me a change to use my hands more to repair things. Plus it is at least a $2.33 raise in what I'm getting paid now. I received a call today from the hiring supervisor offering me the job, which I gladly took. I love what I'm doing now with Custodial Services and the people I work with, but I cannot pass up the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experiences. Not to mention the pay.

So with those two things, my emotions covered both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.

Have a great weekend everyone and prayers to all who want/need them.
Happy belated Heavenly birthday to your Dad! He would like a great man!
Congrats on your new job!! Good luck!!! :)
Nice to see you ~ Have a good day!!

Thank you! Nothing could keep me away from MMC for long!

I knew that I couldn't miss coming in today... 1/2 way to the Christmas Season? Wow! In a mere six months, we will all be welcoming in the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I hope everyone is doing great! I also hope your weekends had plenty of rest. I had fun staying in and taking it relatively easy. Nothing really too exciting happened. I did, however, return to trail running. Gatineau Park finally opened for the season, so it was great to return to running 11kms (7.6 miles) of hills. My legs were a little sore yesterday. Today, my legs are still sore, but my ligaments (ankle, etc.) are tender due to all those awkward angles from running on rocks, through mud, and everything else. It was exhausting, yet super fun. I'm excited to head out there again next weekend!

Not much new on my end. At about noon today, we'll be halfway through the month of May. Let's hope the Spring/Summer weather arrives shortly in Ottawa. Temperatures today are only to reach 19c (66F). On Wednesday, we'll finally be into the 80s (28c/82F)! Let's hope that warm weather can stay into Victoria Day weekend - our holiday weekend is a weekend before yours...! Until then, let's enjoy the week, and most of all, celebrate the fact that we are 1/2 to the Christmas Season!!

Good morning MMC friends! Headed to the beach for the night for a work meeting tomorrow! Rough life, I know. :) I am so excited for a little R&R! Hope everyone has a wonderful end to your weekend!
Hope you are having a great time at the beach!!!
