I have "Shop Around the Corner" & I saw in the preview that "The Good Old Summertime" was based on SATC! I haven't seen Summertime but Mom/Emma said it had a lot of Christmas in it - hence the reason they figured I would like it. Ha ha!! Such great classics!
"Summertime" was made in Technicolor---and Christmas looks GREAT in Technicolor! Especially at M-G-M.

"Shop Around the Corner" is B&W, but the Christmas scenes are still beautiful.

Good Morning MMC!

home form work with a cold today. Mom has cataract surgery tomorrow so I want to try to knock this out by then so they will let me in the hospital with her.

Hope you are all well and have a great day. Party at the pines tonight, wonder what Carl has planned this week ?

Praying you are better and that your mom's surgery was successful and recovery is quick! {{{HUGS}}}

GM all...happy Pines! My youngest is home with a 101 fever...I hope it is not the start of strep! A few kinds in her class have had it so I know it is going around. She has her dance recital this week so she can't be sick! Just a regular day od work for me and I just wish we would see some sun for more than one day in a row! Hope you all have a good day.

Praying your youngest is better!

Now I'm going to have to watch both! :D

I hope you manage to enjoy your memorial day weekend as best you can. Rest and take it easy. Praying for you.

Things are bad.
We woke to the news this morning that the threat level has been increased from severe to critical which means another attack is imminent. There are troops deployed at key locations and armed police on the streets. Raids are being carried out at various places including the centre of the city and there have been more evacuations . The atmosphere is thick with fear and of course sadness. My husband and I both work in the heart of Manchester so it will be hard to go about day to day life without it being at the very front of our minds. The stories of what people went through is tough to handle and our hearts are breaking for the children and people who died and others fighting for their lives. Just heard that my husband's previous boss's best friend has died. She was picking up her 3 daughters from the concert.

Oh, Festive, praying for you and your family and country. Sending you much love and strength, my friend. {{{HUGS}}}

Happy Friday!! We woke up to rain once again but I think it is supposed to clear this afternoon. Unfortunately, I have both my kids home from school...my oldest one woke me up 2x last night with what I think sounds like a sinus headache. My youngest one has a cough/cold and a fever of 101 last night. So we may just have a low key weekend at home and probably just grill out here. My youngest has her dance recital tomorrow night so hopefully with some rest/fluids she will feel ok. Hope you all have a great day and weekend!
Hope the kids get well soon and the recital goes ahead as planned. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks, Edge!! It was far from great but I stopped counting birthdays 17 years ago when I turned 21. So it's okay. Lol!!!!

Happy Birthday!! Sorry I am a bit late. I stopped counting birthdays too!

Good Pinesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

It's been pretty hectic around here, and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. On top of that, we're under another tornado watch. There was a watch all afternoon yesterday, but (thankfully) nothing happened. It flooded rain all day, and we're supposed to get more of it today.

Last night was Honors Night at Elizabeth's school. She received her Honor Roll trophy, as well as two Citizenship medals, and several other certificates. What a smart girl! After the awards, we were approached by several other parents says "Wow, Elizabeth has worn a path to the stage to get all those awards!"

And Jacob made the Dean's List again at University!

How proud I am!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Jacob ~ you have every reason to be proud of them!

Crazy weather here. A storm system moved through the area late this evening. The storm was moving northwest, which is unusual in itself. What was really strange was the tornado that carried on for over an hour!!:eek: Luckily it was weak and there is not a ton of reported damage. The tornado moved just to the other side of the town I live in, so we were in no danger. I have been around tornadoes before, but that was the longest lasting one I have ever known about. Crazy!

How scary ~ I'm glad you are safe, Itp!

Good morning ~
It's going to be a rainy day with highs near 60 degrees. I'm heading out soon, my doctor ordered some tests yesterday and I need to have blood drawn. Back home afterward to eat lol, I'm hungry already. I just threw dinner in to the crock pot, I'm making pulled pork sandwiches later tonight. I may run a couple of errands this afternoon, I'll see how the weather is. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Praying your test results are good! {{{HUGS}}}

It's disconcerting when your phone starts talking while you're at work, telling you that a tornado has been sighted in your area! That's happened two days in a row, although I haven't seen or heard of any damage nearby.

Oh my goodness, I'd be freaking out in such a situation. Hope the weather improves for your area!

I hope you get good results from your tests!

Nancy had some blood work done a couple weeks ago (everything is fine), and one of the ordered tests was for vitamin D. My insurance said it was an "experimental" test, and they refused to pay for it! Now I'm on the hook for a few hundred dollars for a quick test. Grrr.

I'm glad everything is fine with Nancy!

Yikes!!! I texted our friends in the Englewood/Dayton area this morning to make sure they were all ok! 3 of the 4 are good, but haven't heard from one closest to the damage area but praying they are all ok! Hope today is much quieter!!! Have a good day ITP!

Praying you heard from your friend! {{{HUGS}}}

GM all...Happy Rudolph Day! And yet we have more rain!! I heard it may clear up today but heavy rain tonight and tomorrow morning. The weekend does not look too great either but oh well we have Monday off and I can relax. Just work for me today and tonight my oldest daughter has World Fair Day. It is part of her final for her geography class. She has to make a big trifold on Iran and she made an Iranian dessert. My husband is working late so it will be my youngest daughter and I going. Hope you all have a great day! 7 months from today is Christmas day!!

Oh, no, praying both your kids are better soon, Sfm. {{{HUGS}}}

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be another rainy day here. The same goes for every day on the 7 day forecast. Ugh. At least we should see some dry time in between the storms this weekend. So hopefully there won't be 300,000 wet people on the other side of town on Sunday. Nothing to much going on here today. Just need to run to the grocery before it gets crazy and then take my sisters birthday card out to her. Ella's first birthday was Tuesday and she got lots of goodies for it. I hope everyone has a Great Day!!!

Happy Birthday to you and your sisters ~ hope your days were merry!
Happy Birthday to Ella!

Thanks M. Praying for our world right now. Every event like this is upsetting no matter where it is in the world but to have it so close to home makes it impossible to put at the back of our minds at the moment.

{{{HUGS}}}

Merry Friday!

I was going to catch up on my messages, but my brother just showed up with coffee and donuts and I don't have the time now.

Praying everyone and their families have a merry and safe weekend!
