Its funny you should mention the prices. I just watched a video that explained why movie prices are so high and the history of the movie industry price fixing and running a monopoly until the gov't stepped in. I believe a few self producing actors had a major hand in the downfall..namely Charlie Chaplin and the other 2 big names escape me now.
Three others: D.W. Griffith, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mary Pickford. They founded United Artists in 1919.

********** MILESTONE DAY **********

Good Morning, Friends!

Well, we have officially arrived. (And right on schedule, according to our Countdown chart.)
The first HALF of our trip back to Christmas is completed and behind us!

Days to the Season: 140
Days to Christmas Day: 182

And per tradition, we will take a breather for the day before checking on our next marker. A day to get over the shock.
(And that's a good thing, because the next Milestone will be a shocker, alright!)

Nice day here, yesterday. We actually had some sun and not a drop of rain fell all day.
For the record, the remainder of the week is predicted to be nice and I'm really looking forward to it!
We perceive a current temperature reading of 65 degrees here under blessedly clear skies!

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!

Hoorah! Thank you for counting us down to the halfway point, Crown! So magical to see that we are now halfway to our favourite time of year. Although we're just getting into the thick of summer heat, there's still nothing better than hearing those sleigh bells and all the other wonderful sounds that Christmas brings!

Merry Milestone Monday, everyone!

Not much to say here, really. I'm still far busier than I want. Exams are nearly done (there is only one more tomorrow). Wednesday is the final day for Intermediate students. Tomorrow should be a quieter day for me. In fact, today should have been, too, but I am still busier than I should be. One of my students is so close to receiving a full credit for a course rather than half. She only has another six pages, and she's so discouraged. I've been pushing her through, I just really hope that she stays strong and comes in tomorrow. I told her it will be all over by 10:30 tomorrow. Let's hope she shows up!

As if I wasn't busy enough with everything, I've also been made aware that I am teaching Grade 11 University streamed English in July for summer school. It's going to be a busy month, but it will all be worth it in the end. Between now and July 5th, I will need all the hours of the day to prepare...

Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed their Milestone Monday! What better way to kick off the week than realize that we're only halfway to Christmas Day?!

Can't wait as the second half of the Season is now upon us, the Hallmark premiere is coming up then Christmas will be popping up in stores

I slept so much off and on all weekend making up for lost sleep from the Relay for Life event and woke up at 3:30 a.m. ready to roll. Wonder if anyone would notice if I slipped under my desk later this afternoon for a catnap.
For Leon's Day, I grabbed a listen to the last podcast and it was a great way to celebrate! Stay Jolly!
Morning Auntie. Must be nice to have a desk. I'd probably have to sneak off to the tire racks at Wal-Mart... lol. Nice way to celebrate the day. Any huge plans for the CIJ time frame? Enjoy these last few days of June...

Morning MMC! My brother arrives this morning from San Diego. He'll be here through the 4th and then be heading to Canada for a few days. The next week will be very hectic as he wants to go see different people (uncle etc.) and I'll try my best to at least be there for a few of those. Our BBQ has turned into a big one as more people are invited than usual. I think by the time he leaves I will be tired but the next time I see him will most likely be about a week until Christmas. Have a great day!

Happy Halfway to Christmas Everyone! Hard to believe that isn't it? I took today off to make a 3 day weekend. Just having an oil change done and going out to brunch. It's a beautiful sunny day here with low humidity. Not much better than that for summertime. Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys their Monday as much as possible!
Not bad Edge. Tell me, do you have more five-day or four-day work weeks during the year?
It was a nice cooler day here as well, so I defrosted the freezer, did some laundry, edged the front lawn and did some massive BBQing. Not a bad way to spend my second day off.

Good morning ~
Happy Milestone Day! Can't believe we're halfway there. So exciting!!!
It's going to be a nice day, sunny with a high of 78 degrees. I have to run to Staples to pick something up for my youngest. This is the last week of summer classes. She can not wait until they're over so she can enjoy the rest of the summer before the Fall semester begins. I also need to do some food shopping today. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. That's about it for me.
Hope everyone is well <3
Happy Tuesday HMG. Our temp did not make it past 75 and some areas of SD had lows in the upper 30's. Sure saves on my A/C and electric bill. So how much summer will she enjoy until the next round of academia begins?
Have a fun last few days, as we bid farewell to June...

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I missed Leon Day here, doggone it! Well, Happy (late) Leon Day, everybody!!

For any newcomers, LEON Day is the half-way point to Christmas (June 24th or 25th, depending on which date you track), and Leon is Noel spelled backwards.

I cut all our crazy shrubs Saturday, and I'm still driving around with a truckload of trimmings. I have to get a chance to ride out to the farm so I can drop them off.

I'm still reeling from Saturday night, though. Elizabeth had her first date. (I choke every time I think those words.) Apparently, this boy is awesome in the nearby town he lives in, goes to a Christian school where he's a big-time football player, and his family is very prominent and well-respected in that town...but she's my baby, doggone it! I know she'll be 17 in a few months, but still... We drove her to that town, dropped her off at the restaurant with the boy (after giving her the stern "dad" look), then picked her up after they saw a movie. I wish she was still seven, riding on my shoulders! :(

I hope y'all have a great day! :)
Greetings Brad. That does bring back memories. Granted they are somewhat diminished with the passage of time (daughter is now 36). Of course the boy will always be awesome in her eyes and hopefully will remain that way. He does sound well grounded. Hang in there Dad, we can only hold them back for so long and then the flood gates of "independence" will swing open wide. If it helps at all...

or in this case, she.

Happy Milestone Day!! Beautiful day outside and so hard to believe that we are at the halfway mark!
Just working for me today and I am going to go to the grocery store later.
Hope you all have a great day!
Good Morning SnowflakeMom. We are going to have some great weather here for the next week anyway. Highs in the mid-seventies to lower-eighties (87 for the 4th). Have a nice, relaxing end of June, with some fun thrown in for that extra kick...

Good Morning, Guys.

Well, we are now post-Milestone, having passed the Half-Way-to-Christmas marker, yesterday.
But, wait! Whenever we are post-marker, we also become pre-marker!
(More about that, and a shocking revelation, in just a moment.)

First, the daily figures:
Days to the Season: 139
Days to Christmas Day: 181

And the next marker that we are "pre-"?
Well, hold on to your candy canes, Fellow MMC'ers, because it's a shocker!
As of July 14, just 17 days from today, we will be 2/3 of the way to Christmas Season 2017.
You read that right, Folks. TWO-THIRDS!!
Not only that (and you had better get a REAL good grip, now) but after we reach that point, we will be only 22 days away from DOUBLE DIGITS to the start of the Season.
(I don't know about you, but this is starting to become too much for me. I had better try to relax with some deep breathing exercises!)

Another nice day here yesterday. The temps and humidity levels were down, we had no rain and there was plenty of sunshine.
Today should be a carbon copy, with possibly a sprinkle or two this evening.
We are at 67 degrees here, right now.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Thanks, CG! That DOES help!
