I hope you have a beautiful September...but let's not rush time with your mom away! ;) It sounds like you girls are enjoying your time together. I love it! So nice to have her there to help with decorating...and of course, nothing beats moms cooking! :) I hope you both have a great time tomorrow!

Mom is doing ok. She's been having some shaky spells for about a week now. After she wakes up in the morning she is so shaky & doesn't feel good. My sis brought a wedge pillow for her last night thinking maybe she needs to sleep a little more upright - this morning was a good morning, so I don't know if it was the pillow, or just a fluke! Anyway, I'm happy she was having a good morning. Her memory is pretty shaky too! But she just keeps trucking along!

Thank you. We had a lovely day out with the kids. Did a little shopping and had lunch out.

Bless your mum. I hope she sees many more better days. I'll be praying for her.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Happy Friday!! Looks like it is going to be a dreary day with rain and t-storms. My oldest has a soccer game tonight and my youngest was invited to Six Flags tonight and a sleepover at a friend's house so hopefully the weather cooperates. We'll see...we don't have many plans for the weekend. My husband is working a 1/2 day tomorrow for a co-worker. I think we will probably just grill out tomorrow night and relax. Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend! One step closer to the Bers!
Hope you are having a lovely saturday grilling out.

Good Saturday morning! A rough night as hubby had to be into work at 10:30pm, as a plumber was on site to fix a problem with a water heater. But another problem arose and he wound up staying there until 3am, while a second repairman showed up. Then at 5am he got a call from the overnight security personnel because a valve burst, so he went back. I can't say that I've slept much more than him to be honest. Will try and sleep some more this morning, but I have a busy day/evening ahead of me. Have a great day everyone!
That's rough. Hope you guys have a better night and enjoy some r&r over weekend if possible.

Greetings everyone. Been a few very full days again. I'm going to try to go back and read all the posts from the last few days. For now, I am trying to get things finished up in the yard, but looks like for everything I accomplish, one or two more things pop up. I have never really been envious of rich people, but in this instance I'd love it if I could afford a landscaper... lol.
The weather has been containing a lot of rain, which has been good for the new grass, but has kept me from mowing. The temps have been steady in the mid 70's to very low 80's and that I can handle as well.
Just for a brief moment, I'll piggyback on what Gunny and Crown discussed. It is a shame that instead of learning from the past, we simply seek to destroy it, as if somehow removing a statue or changing the name of a monument or building will help solve all our problems. If we decide to get rid of everything (statue or building) of anyone who had done anything wrong, we would not have any. I am not for purposely offending anyone either, but if we stopped doing anything that could in any way offend someone, we would be doing nothing. I mean people get offended during the election simply on who people choose to vote for. How crazy and is that?
If there was one thing I learned from my 23+ military years, it was to act like an adult and to develop (to some extend) a thicker skin. Let's do something that history has shown us would really be a first in this country learn from history... don't repeat it.
Everyone have a great weekend and I promise to be here tomorrow...

lol yes I know what you mean. Our redecorating/refurbishing is taking longer than expected because unforeseen issues keep being uncovered as we go along. Of course that also means unforeseen expenses too! Sometimes I wish I could just pay someone to do it all for me and we can go off to a long vacation :) lol

Have a great weekend.

Hope everyone is having a lovely saturday! We have spent the morning getting some jobs around the house sorted. It's time to make dinner now. Looking forward to watching some movies and playing some board games later. Work for me tomorrow so as usual my weekend is pretty short.

Also I'm a bit late to report but Selfridges have launched their Christmas shop :) It's become a little milestone every year when they do. We should start seeing some christmas things in the shops in a couple weeks after kids return to school. Some places have put out last year's left over christmas clearance. I can't believe it's all about to happen, Very exciting!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Greetings Festive. How cool is your first store getting into the spirit. We have that in a store called Hobby Lobby. It began as just getting crafts out early so people would have time to complete them. Then one year it was... might as well get some other stuff out too. And so it began...
Got to ask... what board game do you guys enjoy?
Have a fabulous Saturday and a relaxing dinner... (here is one of my favorite games)

That's the same edition of Clue I had! But I could rarely get enough people together to play it.
Our favorite board game here is Scrabble. We're pretty evenly matched ... often the game is decided solely by the points left on the rack after one of us goes out!

I know I am probably stating the obvious here but it is so nice to see people get excited about Christmas stuff and even Halloween stuff showing up in stores! Everyone I know complains that the stuff is out too early, but I get so excited when I start to see the first signs of the holidays. I walked around Hobby Lobby the other day in the Christmas aisles and wanted everything I saw! I really appreciate all of you and this forum that feel the same way I do because no one else in my life does!!!

Happy Saturday friends!! Busy bee over here but happy that we're quickly approaching Labor Day! Last dog days of summer.

Those games that you know will normally be close are the best. We use to play Trivial Pursuit, but since my head was filled with so much more trivia (go figure), it was very lopsided. So we went in a different direction.

Feels like Fall in Etobicoke Ontario today. 23 degrees Celsius but over clouded and a cool breeze. It was nice to golf in pants instead of shorts. We are quickly approaching the BER months.
We won't get there in SD as quickly as you, but our position in the US is also where the Canadian jet stream usually drops. So we will spend more time in the "colder" portion of the year than a lot of the other states. Enjoy your golf time. When does it normally end up there?

Greetings Sugarmuffin. Yes, there will always be those who think the season comes to early. Probably because for them, that's all it is... one day. For those of us who have arrived at this location, we understand how much more it is than just a tree, a present or what can be a hectic time of year. It is a feeling that holds a place in our hearts far above (and beyond) the 25th of December.
Glad to have you here...

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Sunday!
I'm just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. Everyone is still sleeping here so I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. It's going to be sunny and warm today with a high of 85 degrees. My parents are coming for dinner, I'm going to fry some meatballs and get a pot of sauce started soon. I'm going to make stuffed shells :)
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

Morning MMC! We're expecting another beautiful Sunday here with temps in the mid 80s, sunshine and the humidity gone. The last 4 Sundays have almost been perfect weather. Was just talking to Gunny about it and this summer overall has been actually really nice and not as unbearable as some are. No wonder we're only now a dozen days till the Bers! I am going out to enjoy some of this beautiful day. And I hope you all have a great Sunday and rest of your weekend!
