Christmas Countdown - 2017

A Fabulous Friday to the MMC Community. Got last night under my belt and spent a good portion of it getting the Halloween Seasonal area stuff put on the shelves. Some newer things are a bit impressive and fun. Of course a lot of the costumes seem like the same from last year. Guess they bought too many of the same kind last year, so we are getting them back again this year. Go figure!!
I was checking out a virtual projector I purchased this morning. Interesting to say the least. Started off the NFL season 0-1 with the Patriots taking it on the chin last night. Good thing I don't bet...
Time to grab a final cup of "Joe" inhale a few groceries and hit the sack. I hope everyone has a nice Friday and an even better weekend. Not sure if any of you are in Florida, but stay safe.
And for those interested (I think I can include Brad)... Happy Birthday to the beginning of the Star Trek legacy. On 8 Sep 1966...

Exactly. I didn't need it on for long, just enough to take the chill out!! It's now 67º outside.

Outstanding! We're looking at a string of days in the low 80s starting Monday. It's that nice blend of a warm and cool September.

Funny you should post that. Here is a commission build for a guy, its 1 of 2 kits. Added LED and hand drilled and squared apprx 200 windows on this thing. The next one is a older AMT/ERTL kit that will have a shuttle bay and bridge viewable. I dislike doing these, but be has deep pockets..lol

Talk about a long day. I left the house at 4am and I'm just finally stoping to unwind. We made good time to PA but I swear they are working on every single road in this state. Well I should take that back. There are construction zones with orange barrels set up on every road. I only saw people working on the road that leads to the Flight 93 memorial. We spent a couple of hours there and talk about heart wrenching. Then when I got here, I spent some time with my grandpa's side of the family before the reunion with my grandmas side tomorrow. Now I think the pillow is calling my name.

Talk about a long day. I left the house at 4am and I'm just finally stoping to unwind. We made good time to PA but I swear they are working on every single road in this state. Well I should take that back. There are construction zones with orange barrels set up on every road. I only saw people working on the road that leads to the Flight 93 memorial. We spent a couple of hours there and talk about heart wrenching. Then when I got here, I spent some time with my grandpa's side of the family before the reunion with my grandmas side tomorrow. Now I think the pillow is calling my name.

Good morning and Happy Saturday!
It's going to be sunny today with highs near 70, we're currently at 54 degrees. I'm heading out soon to make a big food shopping trip. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. I may take a ride to JoAnn's this afternoon to look at their Autumn decor. We'll be grilling burgers & hot dogs for dinner later tonight. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend.

Morning MMC! It's a beautiful but cool morning here. We expect a high of 69 under partly sunny skies. Again, the temps have been below normal for September. Last year I was running the a/c for most of September. This year I've been wearing my jacket out in the mornings. It's nice to have an early Autumn this year. I hope everyone is safe with the hurricane. It's pretty scary. Just some errands to do today like normal for a Saturday. Have a great day!

It looks like it may miss us! Whew!! Although I still don't trust it one bit and worried about all in it's path.

Christmas lights and the mountains? My two favorite things! I've been through Maggie Valley a few times. Wanted to see what Ghost Town looked like now compared to my childhood. We mainly spend time in Cherokee and Bryson City when we go. I don't think any food beats the Cork & Bean in Bryson City. Almost worth the 3 1/2 hour drive just to eat!

Hi there HMG. They must know you on a first name basis at your local store... Have fun browsing and deciding what you might add to your home. Dinner sounds good. I am trying to decide between ham and pork chops. Either way it will include garlic mashed potatoes and a cauliflower/broccoli medley. Enjoy the beautiful day and the days to follow...

Wonderfully cool, fall-like weather was had here yesterday with highs in the low 70's, plenty of sun and no precipitation of any kind.
But even better news than that, is the fact that Hurricane Irma is now expected to pass well to our west, taking central NC completely out of the cone of probability.
The winds are also supposed to be below tropical storm force by the time it reaches our latitude. Let's hope those predictions hold!
We currently are at 59 low humidity degrees here in the capital city.

Trust me I enjoy this time of year (Labor Day to Thanksgiving) as much as I do the Christmas Season.
