Such a beautiful time of year.

We have been busy with family visiting, and just returned from a lovely vacation in Door County, WI.
Harlowe has had some more health challenges, so we have made some changes and been giving her even more love and TLC.
So excited for our favorite holidays, can't believe how close we are.

Morning MMC! Today we have sunny skies and a high of 77. Another warm early October day. Take it while we can cause eventually we'll be shivering. Just getting ready for a mid-week at work. Got a lot done the last couple of days. Just a little stat for you all: 50 days from today is Thanksgiving. Just doesn't seem real to me that we're where we are in the year already. Love seeing the Halloween lights out now. Enjoying it...have a great mid-week and see you at the Pines!
usually we are with family, but this year so many are traveling that it will sadly not happen. i will however be having my girls over and if the day is nice we plan to head out to the lake for awhile.
We will have the usual turkey with all the trimmings of course !

What a hectic week it's been with various things.
My youngest is due to start secondary school next september so we have been visiting various schools at their open evenings as we narrow down our choices. We have to submit our selections by end of month. Yesterday, we visited an academy that was very 'Hogwarts' like lol. Mr Festive even joked that that he thought he saw Malfoy go pass
We visited at twilight and the lovely old building was framed perfectly against an indigo sky and half bare trees swaying creepily. I can not believe that my son is almost in secondary school!!! When I envision him in his uniform wearing a blazer and tie , I just want to burst out crying because it feels like just yesterday he was crawling around in a winnie the pooh onsie!!
Anyway.... hope you guys are having a great week.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!
I'm sleepy, didn't sleep well last night. And I'm the official alarm clock for the family, since I'm usually an early riser. I find sticky notes on the Keurig with wake-up times, and today was a particularly early morning for Elizabeth, so no sleep for me.
I'm taking Mom to the dentist today for some work that will require some medication, so I'm the designated driver.
I hope y'all have a great Pinesday!

Getting so close to our next Milestone, it's not even funny.
(Wonderful, but not funny!)
Straight to the daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 40
Days to Christmas Day: 82
And just like the iceberg that sank the Titanic, a truly MAJOR Milestone marker looms just ahead off our bow. (Only this impact will be gentle and welcomed!)
The magic marker in question is the 90 PERCENT HOME STRETCH point to the Season and will arrive the day after tomorrow!
(Such excitement. Don't know if I can stand it!)
We are in a wonderful rut weather-wise here in central NC. If it could be like this year round, I would be as happy as a kid on Christmas morning!
Today's installment has launched here at 55 degrees.
Well, the refreshing weather has invigorated Carl. (Since when is Carl not invigorated, actually?) And he's feeling extra frisky.
Not sure if that is good or bad news, to tell you the truth. Come this evening and find out.

Time goes by quickly but it feels almost double the speed when you have kids.
Good Day fellow MMC's -- Hope all is well in MMC-Ville (it's a real place, I checked and everything) -- I'm taking a bit of time for myself at the moment after finishing the housework for the day. Got the Christmas music playing as I type. Rather than write traditional Christmas cards this year, I'm going to make personalised Christmas Music CD's for my work colleagues. Something a bit different, but very festive. The rest of today will likely be spent listening, shortlisting and playing around with tracklists. Not a bad way to spend the day IMO! -- Here's what I have playing at the moment.
Morning All! A age old hunting friend finally made it here last night to make plans for our hunt next year. After our ritual of rolling dice to determine where and what we hunt, it ended up being New Mexico for elk. I hope he never finds out I loaded the dice..lol
Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!! So far it's a dreary day. They keep changing our % chance of rain. An hour ago it was 40% chance & now it says 80! We sure could use it!! We're supposed to have a high of 77º today. Our grass is so brown & crunchy! Jim has been in the fields all week combining. He was hoping to get quite a bit more done today before the rain.
Not much going on here today - just work. Last night I cooked spaghetti sauce - so tonight I re-heat it & get it canned. I also started crocheting a shrug (shawl) for my nieces wedding last night. She asked my sister & I to make 6 of them for her bridesmaids - then when she saw it she wants one for herself - then when the 2 mothers saw it, they both want one, so now we are up to needing 9 shrugs by Dec. 30th!
That will keep us hopping!!
