Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Holiday]

Well, it is uncommon that I get time to visit on a Tuesday. Most of the time, my first visit on the week doesn't happen until Thursday. However, I had to speak at a community event this afternoon and my Mom was my babysitter....and she took off to a town about 30 minutes away to go do stuff with the girls.

No kids....
No wife....

It is eerily quiet....

That makes it the perfect time to look at Christmas stuff!!!!! Has anyone been on one of those Polar Express Train rides? I was curious as to what it is like....

Merry Pines Day
It's going to be cloudy today with scattered showers and a high of 73 degrees. I'm just having a cup of coffee and relaxing for a few minutes before I get started on my chores. Not too much going on here, I'm going to make a Target run later this afternoon. I also need to pick up another pumpkin for my front steps, I already have one that is rotting. It must be from the hot temperatures we've been having. My mums aren't looking too good either. Looks like it might be finally cooling off this week though. I'm ready for Autumn weather!

Morning! Looks like today we'll see a high of 72 with afternoon showers. Not the nicest day but not the worst. And we do have a cool down starting at least for a couple of days. Just trying to relax here in Mid-October. It's starting to go too fast already. And I see a lot of Halloween items out now which is awesome. Have a great mid-week Pines Day!

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! The hump day here appears that it's going to be a dreary ol day. We started off at 65º & that's pretty much going to be the high - ok 67º is actually the predicted high! It's spitting rain & dark. I don't mean to be a Debbie downer, but this weather makes me feel even worse for our friends who lost their son! I don't care what anyone says, sunshine helps! We went to visit them last night - we were there most of the night. I was "happy" to see how well they are doing. Their younger son worries me the most - he was the only one home when his brother committed suicide - he heard the whole thing. So, so horrible! He's a senior in high school, it's going to take a lot of time. My heart aches for all of them!
And on a much happier note - life DOES go on & tonight we have Miss Emma's pre-wedding party! I'm very excited to see how the Amish host a wedding! My family is meeting at my brothers & we'll all head over at the same time. Looking forward to it!

Good morning Holiday. You are right about the effect sunshine has on us and it certainly is something to be desired for ourselves and especially others when things are not going so well. As far as your weather, would it make you feel any better if I told you our current temp is 30, with an expected high of only 54?

Good morning all. My short work week begins today. Nice and quiet in the morning hours and I will be out and about just after 8AM to start delivering Zoo Boo Posters around town. That will take up the majority of the morning and should have me tired enough for a nice afternoon nap before the shift is scheduled to start. Not much else on the plate for today. I trust you all have a nice Wednesday and a fantastic end to the week.
Not much into politics between the parties, but this one did bring out a smile from me...

Still the heat.
Still the humidity.
Still the daily threat of rain.
(Is this fall or summer? I'm confused!)
Today's installment has again commenced very humid, at 75 degrees here in the capital city.


Carl? He's ready.
The 'Pines? Spic-and-span clean.
The fired twinkies? Hot off the griddle.
The southern iced tea? Sweetened to perfecation.
The choice? Do you go or not?
I am. How about you?

My oldest daughter has a soccer game today so we will be going to that

Good morning HMG! My mums definitely bloomed fast & will be done before their "normal" time, but so far they are ok, as well as my pumpkins. But yes, I'm sure the warm temps are hard on them! They are ready for fall weather too!

That decoration is so simple, and so perfect!
Not far from us a family has a swing suspended from a tree branch in their front yard. They have a skeleton in the swing for Halloween!

Canada's halloween style would be to make sure kids costumes fit over their snow suits. Generally we get our first snow fall around that time. However, this year I do not think that will be happening. Generally you guys in the States have copied all of our traditions around Halloween.
we do have this giant spider in Ottawa...

I loathe spiders, can't even stand to see one on tv, but I liked this one when we were in Ottawa.
