Good evening

so today i had to leave my job as i can no longer physically do it. As most of you know i have been battling an arm injury for a couple of years now and it is not getting better. Doctor says that staying where I am will only cause further injury. So am looking into early retirement 4 years before I expected to.
Of course that may not be all bad as I will be able to pursue some of my favorite activities instead.
Will see what happens.

Keeping you in my thoughts Star and wishing you the best <3

Good morning ~
Happy Tuesday!
It's going to be sunny today with highs near 58. We're currently at 42 degrees, I woke up around 4:00am and decided to turn the heat on for a little while to take the chill out of the house. Not too much planned for today. I have to do some food shopping this morning. My middle one has off, we're going to take a ride to a local lake later this afternoon to take a walk. Dinner will be tacos and bean & cheese enchiladas. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Good Morning, Everybody!

The excitement builds by the day as we begin now to really close in on Christmas Season 2017.

The numbers tell the incredible tale:
Days to Halloween: 14 (Two weeks from today!)
Days to the Season: 27 (UNDER 4 weeks to go, now!)
Days to Christmas Day: 69 (Below the 10 week mark!)

(It's starting to get out of control, guys!)

It felt downright chilly yesterday, especially in light of the earlier warm and humid weather.
I wound up wearing a light jacket most of the day. Quite a bit of morning rain, as well.
Today should be dry and sunny but still on the chilly side, as we begin to experience a gradual warming trend.
Right now, our back door thermometer shows a right coolish 48 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!

Thanks Crown! 2 weeks till Halloween!

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday!! I hope everyone's day is off to a great start! We started off at 42º this morning - we're up to 44 now - supposed to hit mid 60's for the high. Sun is shining, so it's all good! ;)
Everyone, have a great day!!!

The Eggnog come out superb!! The Orange Drops flattened out like a sugar cookie and didnt stay like a drop biscuit shape...but I had 2 kids that had to each have a turn stirring.
Well, as long as they taste good, that's all that matters! :)

Best wishes star! I hope an early retirement for you ends up being a blessing! xx

Good evening, everyone!

Just making some dinner for tomorrow before bed. The beef may have expired tomorrow if I didn't cook it tonight. I'm tired, but I can't throw away $20 of beef! Oh, and the opportunity to eat tacos over the next few nights. Mmmmm!

Simon actually had an OK visit to the vet today. He was hard to settle down from time-to-time, but the vet let The Big Guy do his thing. With some added incentives (treats), Simon actually took his needle very well. It was just a regular checkup, so he'll have one more shot next year and then nothing the following year.

Well, I should get back to these tacos. I'm really hoping I am out of this kitchen by 10! Have a great evening, everyone! I hope you've all spotted some Christmas in your area and share it in the Blossoms thread!
Glad to hear Simon did better at the vet. He must like his new vet!! Enjoy the taco's!!

Morning MMC! The 1st chill of the season his here. Woke up to 36 degrees. It hit me pretty hard after this first warm month of Autumn we've had. It won't last long as Wednesday through Monday we expect highs 70-75 with mostly sunny skies. Will enjoy it after this colder morning but really it's not all that bad as in January we'd think this is warm. Back to work for me after a really good, relaxing and fun 3 day weekend. Have a great day!
Hope your day back to work goes well!

Enjoy your walk around the lake. Taco's/enchiladas sound great! I didn't turn the furnace on yet, but the fireplace is going in the sunroom!
Have a great day HMG!

Jim had his "next appointment" card for the chiropractor laying on the cupboard today - his next appointment is the Monday of THANKSGIVING WEEK!!! How can that be???? :)
Enjoy your cooler day!

So this morning on the Megyn Kelly show, they are COMPLAINING about Hallmark starting Christmas movies before Halloween! "Can't we just have Halloween?" Bah Humbugs!!!
Nobody says she has to watch!!!!:mad::rolleyes:

Glad to hear Simon did better at the vet. He must like his new vet!! Enjoy the taco's!!

The new vet gave Simon his space and really tried to befriend Simon rather than touching/examining him right away. Simon only likes to be touched on his own terms. He's weird like that.

I am excited for the tacos tonight! They smelled delicious.

I like my sugar cookies to be soft and not like a chocolate chip cookie. I might play with that recipe and add vanilla and try overworking the dough. The orange cookies came out exactly how I like the sugar cookie.
Oh darn! You'll have to make/eat some more! :p

He sounds like a good vet! :)
Now I'm hungry for taco's again. :p

Good morning, everyone!

I'm in the library for the first little bit this morning. It really brings back recent memories of April to June, when I spent the last quarter of the school year in here. I haven't been back since, but it's nice to come in and joke around with the students while they're "working."

The rest of the day should be pretty easy. I have a Phys. Ed. class followed by two Drama classes. Fun! It's yet another chilly morning in Canada's Capital. Temperatures are currently around 5c/41f or 2c/36f with windchill. It looks like we'll reach the mid teens/upper 50s today but the wind will likely make it feel much cooler.

It's difficult to fathom that two weeks from today is Halloween... so difficult that I had to look at my calendar and then Crown's trusty count. Yep. All those little ghouls will be traveling the streets for Tricks and Treats in 14 days. Then, we can all celebrate by turning the calendar into our (second) favourite month of the year!

I'd like to say there isn't much happening after school today, but that is likely incorrect. I have to do a hard/fast running workout and then play dodgeball this evening. Maybe I'll get to rest tomorrow? I think Friday is more likely though...

Well, have a great Tuesday, everyone! We're nearing the middle of the workweek. Let's hope today flies by!

He sounds like a good vet! :)
Now I'm hungry for taco's again. :p

As long as Simon continues to put up with him, he's a great vet!

Oh, me too! I think we have tacos about once a month and I never get sick of them. They're so easy to make and always give me plenty of extra meals for both lunch and dinner!

We shared a vacation last week with DH's BFF & his family. We went to Tybee Island, GA & spent one day touring Savannah. I thought of Bradmac while we were there as he speaks of going there on occasion. We got two Christmas ornaments while we were there: one from Tybee Island & one from Savannah. We have two small trees in our master bedroom that we put our vacation & misc. ornaments on.

If anyone was wondering, there are 178 steps in the Tybee Island Lighthouse, and yes, I climbed them all; had to walk back down all of them too...; We were on the beach on Friday in our bathing suits. We got home late afternoon yesterday & today I have on a sweater. We finally got fall weather here, but it will warm up again by Wednesday.

DH takes his annual work trip later this week & that's a sign for me that Christmas is coming. DD & I miss DH when he's gone, but we have fun, just the two of us. We've already planned one night of eating out & going to WalMart for DD to add to her Christmas list. We'll also take our time in the Christmas section.

The cooler weather has me wanting to watch more Christmas movies. I've already made reservations for DD's Christmas pictures. We need to find something for her to wear for that.
I hope you had a great time! Maybe next time you can visit Bellville. I'll give you the grand tour!
