Good Saturday morning! Bright sunshine and blue sky here, but very, very cold. It should warm up to more seasonal temperatures by tomorrow. This morning we'll go browsing the stores to see their Christmas merchandise and displays. Might buy a couple of things, we'll see. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning ~
Merry Saturday!
It’s chilly out there this morning, we’re currently at 25 degrees and will warm up to 37. I’m just having my coffee and listening to the local news. I heard the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will arrive in New York City today, the lighting will take place on the 29th :)
Not too much going on here today, I’m heading out soon to make a big food shopping trip. Other than that I’ll be working on the laundry. We’ll just be catching up on some shows later this evening. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Morning and Happy Weekend! Love Saturday mornings but boy is it cold out there. I think what makes it worse is how it hit us so fast after such a warm October where we ran the a.c. through part of the month. This is more January type cold and I'm not ready for it but the sun is out and it will start to warm up tomorrow and next week looks at least closer to normal (low-mid 50s). My sister looked at the calendar yesterday and says "wait only 1 more week till THANKSGIVING Week"? She thought there was another week or 2 in there. It is amazing. It's unreal. Today I am going to do some errands and supposed to meet up with an old friend I haven't seen in many, many years. Should be fun but I'm a little nervous. Have a great day!

Thanks, we will! You have a cozy weekend, too!
Merry, what kind of yarn work would you say this garland is? Would a person need a pattern for it? I know 2 people that make afghans so woukd they be able to make this? Thxs

Good Morning, Final Weekenders!

Yes, indeed.
Increbile though it may be to believe, we have arrived at the VERY LAST weekend before Christmas Season 2017 commences at 12:00 AM Monday Nov. 13.
And TOMORROW evening, we meet here in real time to count down the final moments to the advent of the Season.
(Seems fantastic that we should be at this point so soon!!)

Today's data:
Days to the Season: 2 (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 12 (CLOSING IN ON SINGLE DIGITS!)
Days to Christmas Day: 44 (Six weeks from the day after tomorrow!)

(Unreal, Guys. Simply unreal!)

The chilly weather appears to be here to stay for a while and a jacket was needed all day again, yesterday. At least the sun was back and the rain disappeared.
We have commenced things downright cold this morning, at 32 degrees here in the central part of the state. It's sunny but a bit windy.

The Special Post Series continues!
Our remaining schedule:
Today (Day 2 before the Season) = Ballcoach
Tomorrow (Day 1 before the Season) = Christmasstar

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone.
And a Particularly Perfect Pre-Season Weekend, as well!

Special Post Day 4

Christmas is in my heart. It isn’t in a box under the tree, it doesn’t arrive in the mail, and it won’t be brought from a relative who comes for a visit.

Because Christmas is in my heart, it is celebrated all year long. I have Christmas in February, April, July, October and all of the months before, during, and after those listed. It isn’t a day or a season, but a state of mind. This is the way at “MMC.”

I joined MMC in Early 2009 and by Christmas that year I was really starting to become one of the gang. On December 23, 2009, it all changed for me.

That year, I kept hearing about Darlene Love Night. I had no clue what or who that was. Someone that made me laugh a lot that year, Binger, had gone on and on about Darlene Love Night. By accident, I found myself on MMC that night as David Letterman came on and thought I will find out what all of the fuss is about. Made, who joined right around the time I did (within days of each other) showed up, Binger showed up, and then Darlene Love showed up. It was magical! The Christmas Spirit had me so excited that night.

After that night, the traditions kept coming….Christmas in July, the special posts, joining everyone here on Nov. 12 around 11:00 p.m. as we bring in the season on Nov. 13, Darlene Love nights, being here at midnight on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day….

We’ve been here for the Blossoms threads, for the birth of children, plays and recitals, building cars, through tornadoes and hurricanes…..

Crown’s Countdown….

And the tough time that followed during the loss of Louann….

Those are the reasons I come here….because WE come here. We come together. A website full of family who has never seen each other but share the pains of this world and the joys of our life….

And here we are, again.

Friends….no, family….thank you for having me the past 9 Christmas seasons….I look forward to seeing some of you Nov. 12 at 11:30 EST/10 CST to ring in the season and I eagerly anticipate another magical Christmas with you this year.

Merry Christmas!

And so it comes to this….2 days until the season….

With love,
Ballcoach

I love reading all of the special posts this year! I am so grateful for everyone on here. When I start up the tablet and a news website pops up first, I skim all of the headlines and it seems it is nothing but sadness and violence. I find myself more and more skipping the headline skim and heading straight here. I love reading the posts of genuine, caring people and it really lifts my spirits! This is one place I know that I can come and share the joy and happiness of the season all throughout the year. So thank you, everyone, for reminding me that there are still wonderful, decent people around!

Good morning, friends.

I know we're all excited. Only one more sleep until we can countdown in real-time, as Crown has alluded to...

I have a confession to make. It appears that I have not one but two sports to attend tomorrow. I have Ultimate 8-9:30pm, then I have hockey 10:45-11:45pm. I may return from hockey just in time to see the clock strike midnight.

One of Kim's vows, however, was actually to make sure that we can both enjoy every Christmas to the fullest. She has actually said that she would takeover my account and enjoy counting down with all of you in my place. I think you'll have much more fun with her!

To avoid confusion, she'll probably just sign each post with "Kim" at the end, too. Once again, I hope to return for the finale... I certainly know that the music will play here at midnight and I need to be the one to push play!

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

Oh no we will not be heading in to the city today, just heard them talking about it on the news this morning. Hopefully I’ll make it there at some point and see the tree in person.
Hope you’re having a great day so far!

Great post!!!!! Well spoken Ballcoach!!

Happy Veterans Day to all of us veterans that have served and are presently serving our country. Most Importantly, I stand and give a salute to all of those who have bravely made the ultimate sacrifice, for us, and our freedoms that we have today. They died, to ensure that this land of ours remains free.

God, bless our men and women in our armed forces, protect them, shield them and strengthen them.

@NcGunny Definitely crochet ... I did a quick Google Images search for "crocheted Christmas garland" and found the pattern! It's a free download from Red Heart Yarn. Download the pattern for your afghan-making friends, and they should be able to make it! (I'm so tickled I was able to find the actual pattern for you so quickly!)
