Merry Friday!

Prayers for all!

Finally remembered to buy stamps so now I can send the rest of my Christmas cards out on Monday. The sad thing is that the cards are ready to go, I just forgot to take them to the post office today.

The furnace wasn't working when I got home. Needed a new thermostat installed. Palmer is so happy the heat is back!

Glad it is the weekend and I have nothing to do but Christmas!

Be safe and merry on!!

Good morning MMC!! Happy Friday Eve and today is my Friday and I am off on Monday. I have a dentist appt tomorrow and then I am going to the mall. Also, I hope to catch up on my wrapping tomorrow as well.
I am taking my oldest daughter to the Dr today...she has lost 10lbs, which I thought was from soccer season but she has been done with soccer for over a month now and she has not put any back on despite her eating like a horse. If you could please say a prayer that it is nothing serious, I would appreciate it.
Hope you all have a great day!

Praying for your daughter and you!

Hello My Merry Chums!

Well, Mom is out of the hospital, but not "of the woods yet"; it's hard to stay merry watching her dwindling away and knowing full well that this will likely be her last Christmas with us. I try to make my way here and stay jolly, but it's been challenging finding time to work, help my dad out and visit here. My mom's birth mom died on Boxing Day many years ago and her adoptive mom died on New Year's Day during the same season; I have a bad feeling about this family trend.

I skipped my work out this morning at the gym so I could have a little "Merry Me Time" here at the forums.

These forum pages are always a Blessing and our merry forum family is growing more year after year. I'm thankful I gave myself permission to visit today. I know I seem open with the memories I share, but I'm actually a private person and don't share my feelings that much with others.

Mom -"Jane Dear" was certainly instrumental in turning me into a Christmas Nut from a young age. I hope I have the courage to stay strong in her presence this holiday. I don't want her to know how scared and sad I am; I just want to enjoy her company and make a few more memories while we can.

I guess in some ways I am lucky to at least know that she's slipping away so if there is any "unfinished business" we can make amends with each other; not everyone gets that opportunity; I think we're good.

Trying to keep a merry thought in my head and hoping YULE do the same,

Aw, Auntie, praying for your mom and for you! {{{HUGS}}}

10 Days till Christmas? What happened, did I just miss the last 15 days!!!

Ohhhh man, I gotta a lot of things to do yet, like go shopping! LOL!!!!

I did get all my MMC cards finished and mailed on Wednesday night on my way home from work. I think it's time to crack open the laptop and get some Christmas shopping done.

AuntiMistletoeDear, I'm sorry to read about your mom and how you are having a difficult time at Christmas. Sending you strength for you to enjoy every minute spent with loved ones this Holiday season.

Good Saturday morning! It's 4:30am and I'm up, unable to stay asleep, thinking about all I have to do for Christmas. I fell asleep at 8pm last night after watching Shrek the Halls. Hoping today I can find more energy as we have so many things to do and we're going to my brother's tonight. I'm a list-maker so this is what I'm going to do to get my thoughts organized and stop freaking out. It's snowing and very cold again this morning. Can't do much until 7am, don't want to disturb our neighbours, so I'm going to relax a bit. The calm before the craziness. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning Christmas World!!!!! Just wanting to remind you all that TODAY, DECEMBER 16th is the deadline to get your Christmas Greetings phoned in to be heard in the Christmas edition of the Merry Little Podcast.

Hope you've had a chance to phone in your greetings but if you're still swithering, all you need do is pick up the phone and call (435) 915-6635.

As I mentioned before, this is your chance to literally speak to everyone you chat to everyday here on the forum. It's a wonderful tradition and you'll get a real kick out of listening to all your festive friends while they listen to you!!!

Come on - what are you waiting for??!!!!

Feeling festive this morning as I head out soon to finish my Christmas shopping and enjoy a holiday party with the gang from work that will include some bowling (uggh - my team will be so embarrassed - my gutter balls somehow wind up in the next lane). Wanted to treat you all to a merry little song I wrote several years ago; most of it came to me while I was singing in the shower.

I Feel the North Pole By:AuntieMistletoeDear (Based on the lyrics to I Feel The Earth Move performed by: Carol King.)

I feel the North Pole under my feet
I feel the frost nipping at my nose
I feel my Christmas Memories increasing
I feel my love for Christmas, I suppose
When the season rolls ‘round.

HoHo, Santa, when I see your chilly face
I start dreaming and wonderin’
‘Bout the joys that abound
Jolly as one with the reflective pace
And festive wonders found.

I feel the North Pole under my feet
I feel the frost nipping at my nose
I feel my Christmas Memories increasing
I feel my love for Christmas, I suppose
When the season rolls ‘round.

HoHo, Mr. C., I know you’re near me
When I hear you munching that special treat
I try and try, but I cannot sleep
Soon I’ll discover treasures around the tree
On Christmas Eve, I hear your footsteps creep.

I feel the North Pole under my feet
I feel the frost nipping at my nose
I feel my Christmas Memories increasing
I feel my love for Christmas, I suppose
When the season rolls ‘round.

I wake up Christmas Day
I get excited from head to toe
What awaits in my stocking
Will be a treasure comin’ my way
A puppy wearing a red velvet bow.

I feel the North Pole under my feet
I feel the frost nipping at my nose
I feel Christmas memories increasing
I feel my love for Christmas, I suppose
When the season rolls ‘round

I feel the North Pole under my feet
When the season rolls ‘round.

Thanks for all your love, sentiments and support. -mistletoe-

Morning MMC! The last weekend before the last weekend before Christmas. Oh boy time to really kick it in to high gear. I'm going to continue wrapping today but also focus on food shopping for the big Christmas Eve meal. I did get a lot of wrapping done last night and watched 2 great Christmas shows. Same plan today. Enjoying these days so much. Can you all believe we're this close? My brother arrives Monday. Have a great Saturday!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 34 **

Good Morning, Excited Christmas Awaiters!

Well, Folks. The wait is nearly over as we suddenly, quite suddenly indeed, find ourselves SINGLE DIGITS away from Christmas Day 2017.

The exciting data:
Days to Christmas Day: 9 (SINGLE DIGITS, INDEED!!)
(So close, I can almost taste the eggnog.)

Cooler weather returned yesterday but it was not really too bad for mid December.
Another warming trend begins today and by Tuesday, we are predicted to be in the upper 60's. (Could be a little wet, though.)
Our current, rather chilly temperature here in the capital city is 28 degrees.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Folks!
Enjoy your next-to-the-last Weekend before Christmas.

Cute!
I could probably fake something similar to that ... it looks like it's just individual rows of double crochet gathered together in a bunch, with beads attached.
I made my first wash cloth!!! Just a basic no frills starter cloth, but a small feat for me. Soon I will be rooting through the yarn bins with the rest of those people I grouch about because they wont let us down the aisles.

Thanks Crown! Just got my new 2018 calendar so I can get it ready. Have a good one

Good morning MMC!
Good news about my daughter..all her blood work came back normal so the Dr said she just need to up her calorieintake. I wish I had that problem..lol
My daughter has a basketball game today and my husband and I have a holiday party tonight.
Hope you all have a great day!

Morning all!! Yesterday marked my 3rd year of participating in the local Christmas for Families campaign. It most likely was my last...due to political/religious pressure they have changed the way you can donate. Each family is supplied a entire Christmas tree and all the deco to go with it. No part of the donations come from the organization, it all is supplied from the donator. This year they pushed back the dropoff date until yesterday which had me infuriated for 2 months now. This coming year they want all neutral religious ornaments. Nothing that can have a political implication. No Santa images and no Nutcracker images (nutcrackers are violent..thats what they told me) Sadly this is what we have resorted to in this day and age. I have contacted a few others who have told them they are done... It might just come down to us running our own group now.

Wash cloths are great practice for keeping your stitches at a consistent size and tightness. If you're off, the wash cloth isn't quite square!

That is too bad when weird political and religious views wreck such a great campaign. How can you not have Santa or nutcrackers on a Christmas tree? Neither are political or religious symbols and nutcrackers are violent towards what? Nuts? Maybe they'll change their minds if the number of donators drop. It's such a shame. Hope you find other ways to stay involved NcGunny, it's a great thing you are doing.

God bless you for doing that the past few years. People need to bone up on St. Nick. Getting blowback when you are trying to bring people some joy during the season is absurd.
