Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good evening all! Well only 1 more day left to work! I am really ready for finish.
I am officially finished shopping as well now and everything is pretty much wrapped. I like to save a few to wrap Christmas Eve when the girls have gone to bed. Thinking of making a list of all my jobs I need to do, if I don't I know I will forget something.

My baking day is Christmas Eve so it will be a busy one, baking and tracking santa! What could be better!

Oh my....5 more days till Christmas!!! I'm still waiting for that Amazon truck to show up with the rest of the gifts I ordered, whewww, it's getting a little too close for comfort.

Tonight, is the firms, company Christmas dinner, and so I'm leaving here early to go pick up the wife at her work. I dropped her off at school this morning so then, that way we are not driving two vehicles 50 plus miles back and forth.

So far, on Accuweather and the weather channel, they are still indicating some form of snow to fall in the Mid-Atlantic area's on Christmas eve and day; fingers crossed for a White Christmas!

We're closed the 1st and after that the next day we're closed is Memorial Day .

EEK!! After the 2nd our next day off is Good Friday. That's long enough! I may have to take a day before then!

Making two varieties of cookie dough today, to rest in the fridge overnight and get baked tomorrow. Just about to get up and start the sugar cookie dough. I'll try to get in a Christmas movie this afternoon!

I placed ONE MORE Amazon order this morning. I'm having it shipped directly to a friend - she's supposed to have it Saturday. (just something little/silly) Other than that, I hope I'm done!!!

Oh yeah I'm taking off the day after the Superbowl like I did last year (Monday February 5th). Other than that I'm not planning to take any days off till the 2nd half of April...but I'm sure we'll get a bad snowstorm in the winter that I stay home for...just hope it falls on a Friday for once lol. Always seems like a random Tuesday!

Where has the Christmas Season gone. With 5 Days left, we are in full celebration mode here and the excitement is building. I’m really excited to watch my daughter enjoy Christmas morning. It will be fun.

Nice to have the day after the SB off!! Some years I can go the whole time from NY to Good Friday with no problem, other years I need a day off. And if we vacation in February, it's a whole week. But we don't have anything planned this year. My hubby has a week off in Feb - he may go visit his parents in Florida. I'll stay with little miss Lucilia!

Well, Christmas vacation has begun! Today was the last day of school. I was able to get all of my exams graded before I left. My wife is getting dough ready for cookies and we are enjoying Christmas cartoons.

The local weather folk are saying we "might" get enough snow for a White Christmas!!! Lots of rain on Saturday and a cold front moving in should turn it to snow. Then snow showers throughout Christmas Eve day and night could give us around a inch or maybe slightly more. I would LOVE to wake up on Christmas morning to snow on the ground!!

Good Wednesday evening! It's 10:15pm and the appartment smells of tourtières and cranberry sauce. It's the first time I've ever made cranberry sauce or even tasted some. The recipe I found was so easy, and it received David's seal of approval, so a win there. Tomorrow, other than cooking the rest of the tourtières, roast potatoes and turkey roasts, I'll attempt a fruit ketchup. I figured some condiments would be welcome with the meat. David was wrapping presents in the bedroom while I was cooking/catching up on the dvr. I am intrigued by the colourful boxes. Hope everyone had a great day and here's to another one tomorrow!
