I know right, this is great!!! We had snow falling for most of the day. Tonight, we watched Home Alone and now Home Alone 2. All we are missing is the tree.
I just took my winter tree & snowmen down Thursday....and then the cold/snow returned - again!!! LOL

Well, here in Arkansas, we decided to forego Spring and just stay in Winter until May...

Temps are hovering around freezing...which is about 20-30 degrees colder than normal.

Had a terrible dream last night....I dreamed that I missed the Countdown thread, the Blossoms thread, and the entire Christmas season for a year. I was so upset in my dream....it woke me. When I woke up, I went and read all of the special posts from the past few years. Good memories.

Y'all have a great Saturday.
That is a nightmare!!!!

Hello all,

Winter simply does not want to let Ohio go. We have had brief warm-ups but then followed by snow. No major snows, just the big fluffy stuff that looks nice but causes no troubles. We are expecting some snow showers tonight actually.

Today is a relaxing day. My wife is off with her mom and some friends on a shopping trip. I did the laundry and finished lesson planning already.

My wife was off this past week and decided to repaint the kitchen including the cabinets and drawers. She certainly deserves to go have some fun today.

Things are slowing down a bit for me. Only 7 weeks of school left. However, we also have to plan a graduation party and all that goes with that. It is hard to believe that my oldest is graduating this year. Then off to the Army the end of July. Time flies!!!

Well, everyone have a great Sunday!
Time sure does fly!!
As mentioned -thank you for your service & your son for his future service!!
And yes, Ohio weather is crazy once again!
Have a good school week!!

Yes!!! The wife likes my pulled chicken barbecue. I've been playing around more and more in the kitchen, trying to learn to cook by just doing it. I go to my grandmothers recipe book for help and ideas and if that doesn't work, I go on-line.

This morning for breakfast, I made this dish that my grandfather used to make for breakfast, when I was a kid and all thru my years. I would watch him cook this at the kitchen stove, when I was little, while standing on my little step stool so I could see him better. He'd tell me stories and I would listen and watch him with all the wonder in the world.

You cook some hamburgers in a pan with salt and pepper and a little bit of butter or oil. Keep the burgers in the pan and do not drain the pan. When the burgers are almost done, then throw in a largely chopped onion, let them get soft and full of the juices of the cooked burgers. Then put some water and beef broth in the pan then add a can of hominy. Let simmer for a bit, season to taste, then grab a soup bowl and dig in.

You want to talk about a warm/ good/ hardy and tasty breakfast, that will stick to your belly for hours, that's it. Wash it down with a hot cup of coffee, he used to call that a cowboy breakfast!
Sounds delicious!!! :)
I made a "Hearty Ham & Potato Omelet" for us last weekend. I need to make that more often. So delicious...and easy!!!

Good Morning, People of Distinction!
Indeed.
We have the singular distinction of being the carriers of the Christmas torch year round.
While most of the general public snuffs out everything Christmas until November, we keep the flame shining here year round.
A distinction to be proud of!

Our daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 218
Days to Christmas Day: 260

We are now down to UNDER 2 1/2 weeks to go to reach the ONE-THIRD Christmas Day Milestone and just barely over 2 1/2 weeks away from the 200-DAY Season window.
And the day after that, we begin the Season count with a "1".
(WOW!)

It continued chilly yesterday, but it was calm, sunny and dry. And with our azaleas in full bloom, it was really quite nice because the cooler temps kept the polllen fall at bay.
Our current thermometer reading is 44 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!
Azaleas in bloom??? You lucky person. Can't wait for mine to bloom. Might be a bit yet!!
Have a good week crown!

OOOOOOHHHHH! That sound yummy and hardy! How did you do the ham and potatoes part? What kind of potatoes makes good breakfast potatoes for frying?

Happy Monday!! I had a quiet weekend but it went by way too quickly. This is my last week and then we off to FL next Monday for the week. We are going to see my FIL and his wife in Fort Lauderdale. I am looking forward to a relaxing week. I am going to start packing tonight. Hope you all have a great day!
I love Ft. Lauderdale - so pretty. Enjoy!!!
Are you going to do the water taxi?? :D

Snow today. 70’s predicted for Friday. Snow again next Sunday. I give up.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

With weather like a see-saw, no wonder I am hearing about so many people getting sick again! I love winter, the snow and all that it is around Christmas; but I admit now, this is getting old.

I'm hearing that the flu is circulating once more.. I went out and bought a case of hand sanitizer.....purell-joke.jpg

Yes!! My SIL was diagnosed last week with it..ugh! We need summer!

I have no idea what date "ice off" the lakes will arrive, this year. At the rate we are going, there will still be chunks of the stuff floating around for the Fishing Opener, next month.
The ice is off our lake & fishing has begun....but I sure wouldn't want to jump in!!!
-shiver-

Everybody, have a great night!!! I'm looking forward to a cozy night at home....after picking up Moms 3 page grocery list & delivering! LOL

Merry Monday!

It's snowing! I've been watching it off and on all day and it just now started to stick to the ground. With a warming trend coming tomorrow, all the snow and the ice left over from the last snow storm should finally melt.

Be merry!

Morning MMC. A little rain and snow this morning and then a big warm-up is promised the rest of the week. That's going to feel nice finally. I hope that I can ditch the sweaters finally till October. Little fact for you today is the 100th day of the year. Let that sink in. Pretty much feels like we just said Happy New Year. Hope you all enjoy today!

Good Morning, Friendly Folks!

I hope your day is going well so far.
If it is, it's just about to get better.
If it isn't, we have something here that just might help.

Here you go:
Days to the Season: 217
Days to Christmas Day: 259

And if that hasn't done the job, perhaps this will:
We are now UNDER 2 1/2 weeks from the 200-Day Season Window.
Subtract a day, and you have the distance to the 1/3 Christmas Day marker.
(Our twin April Milestones are rapidly approaching!)

It remained cool yesterday and will again today. (Not cold, mind you. Just a bit cool.) But all that will change by the day after tomorrow when we climb back into the 70's, if not the 80's.
We have commenced this day before 'Pines Day at 45 degrees here in our part of MMC.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!
