Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good afternoon ... another brutal hot day ... YUCK.... I am really dreaming about the fall weather now. Started seeing back to school supplies popping up in the seasonal sections of the grocery store. Won't be long before we start seeing fall items popping up Stay Cool!

My Target was starting to set up back to school yesterday. I was almost giddy thinking it’ll be Halloween next and then Christmas!!!

Oh gosh yes, the other night, it was almost 80 degrees upstairs in our bedroom. I was dying. I could not sleep hardly all night long being too hot. I got those units installed, (and they are big boys too) and last night, it was 68 degrees. I slept like a baby.

I’m whipped! Feeling like I’m just drained as a whole, right now. I think I need to give myself a couple of days to just recharge my battery somewhat. It’s just been Jill and I and that’s it, so, it’s a lot of work, but it must get done.

Here we are, barely unpacked and Jill’s sister (lives in Washington DC) called and is coming to visit this weekend with her 2 boys. She’s very proper, and with her knowing that we just moved in, and asking to come stay the weekend at our place, it seems very odd and out of character for her.
We are wondering if she’s having issues with her other and needs to get away for a few days. Either way, Jill only sees her like twice a year, so, we didn’t say no.
Nothing like a little excitement in your life every now or then just to spice it up a bit.

Hope you guys have a nice visit and that she doesn’t have a panic attack!!!! Lol!!

I went out for a big lunch and then went by my aunts to take Ella for a walk. Man that was a mistake in this heat. Now I’m starting to make my Pea salad and cole slaw for tomorrow. I’ll probably go ahead and shuck the corn and make up the hamburger patties too. Then later tonight, I’m thinking of driving to the horse track to watch the fireworks. I hope everyone is having a great day!!

Man, my bald head is cooked! I went out to mow the school today...and it usually takes me about 30 minutes...

Everybody and their Momma stopped to talk. My phone wouldn't start ringing. After about an hour and 45 minutes...my head started hurting, but it was too late.

Wife will get a kick out of this....ouch.

It’s going to be another hazy, hot and humid day. I feel like I might be coming down with something but I’m hoping it’s just allergies. I have to do some food shopping today and I need to stop at the butcher as well. I’m going to prep a couple of things for our barbecue tomorrow. Other than that I have to do some light cleaning and I’ll be working on the laundry. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Holy Moley was the casino and track packed tonight for the fireworks. They have 4,000 parking spots that were completely full. There is a big field across the street that was full. The big parking lots at the truck stop and McDonald’s were full. THe dirt road by the interstate was full. The street on the other side of the interstate was full along with the little league fields. People were parking on the side of the interstate until the cops ran them off. It was just a tad busy. Lol!

It was a good show though.

We begin this holiday at 78 degrees here in the central part of the state.

Well, this is Wednesday which means open house at the Shispering Pines.
Carl has been well aware all year that open house falls right on the fourth.
As such, you get one guess as to this evening's theme.
Yep.
And there will be red, white, and blue frosted fired twinkies, "Yankee Doodle Iced Tea" (Yankee Doodle iced tea??), flags and bunting everywhere.
And, of course, a world-class fireworks display starting promptly at 9:30 PM.
