Christmas Countdown - 2018

I got a chance to catch up real quick with my brother while I was a at a conference in Toronto last week.
It was a great time to send him a text and check on possibilities of getting together 'cause he was having a "Salon Party" on his enclosed rooftop deep in downtown Toronto. Beautiful view; I'll have to try and get back during the winter for photo opportunities when the snow is blowing around those pretty traffic and building lights making everything merry and bright.

There were so many talented people kicking back and killing their instruments be it keyboards, sax or voice; they were amazing! A few of them claimed they didn't know he had a sister. Guess I have to pop around more often.

My husband and the cat survived the week without me, but they were both so happy when I got back, O'Malley was trying to hug my leg with his paws and then started rubbing against the wall. He was upset he had to wait for my husbands embrace to be over before we could say "hello".

He's resting under my chair right now.

Good afternoon, friends! The kids and dogs have been outside most of the day with DH. Hopefully everyone will sleep great tonight!

I’m just laying here, diving in to a new book and will be soon heading to work. We’re trying out a new soup for dinner, creamy potato and hamburger soup - I found it on Pinterest.

Have a good night at work tonight Sugar. The potato and hamburger soup sure sounds mighty hearty and good to me. Especially after coming in from after being out in the cold weather.

Needless to say, it was about 20 minutes in to the ordeal and she kept crying, so DH put her in bed with us and she slept all night - no accidents! We woke up around 4, so we did take her out then, but she slept again until we woke up. I never crate trained Ella either - she never spent one minute in the crate. We didn’t do it with Nittany either, but Nittany became destructive, chewing and eating everything in sight, so we ended up having to put her in the crate for the first 10 months or so while we weren’t home. She has full range of the house now and does great, but until Sidney gets a little older, I’m just thinking it’s best to at least do it with her too, while we aren’t home. I have way too many decorations, especially on the tree lol!

That all makes sense to me. I do think it so cute that she got to sleep with you all in bed. I know what you mean about the concern with the decorations, we are worrying about it as well. With the new house, Shiloh and Ariel, and a chance to set up all of our decorations, we can foresee two kitties getting into everything. Last year, while we were still living in an apartment, we got this cute little Christmas tree and set it up on the top of the dining room table and sure enough, after we had it decorated it, it wasn't soon after that, we had 2 kitties climbing all up in the tree limbs, having the time of their life.

Thank you! DH really liked it, but I have honestly wasn’t crazy about it. It was to much hamburg for me. If you want the recipe, let me know and I’ll get it to you!

Sorry to hear this. DH has to do a lot of overtime as well. His usually isn’t mandatory, but the extra money is nice! I occasionally get some, but not like DH. Hope you sleep well!

Thank you! Mike just informed me that most likely next Sunday he will be working. People from his department either called out or left early because they felt like it.

I used to work a lot of overtime, for many many years. I even did a bunch as I was dating Jill. But, she had laid the ground rules down with me earlier before we got married. So, I try my best now to only work between 40-45 hours a week, no more. But unlike your hubbies, I don’t get paid for it. It’s like, “oh yea, your salary and if you work any overtime, we will compensate you at the end of the year with a bonus!” Yea, right, and I’m a millionaire too!

Yes the time and a half is nice and while I'm glad he enjoys what he does usually, I'll be happy when overtime is over for the year
